the trick with the slingshot is to tap it instead of charging it. axe got a high level thyla, and jim got a high level carno by tapping the shoot button

One Argy is no Argy. You need a mating pair for it as soon as possible. ARK loves to take what it has given you, if you don't do everything in your power to secure it.
True I just secured my 2nd Female because of just that. So I don't lose my so cool color argy that was also 100+. All these cool colors are like 50 or lower.

Hey Syntac, there's actually a mod called "Cryo Sickness Protection" by Axieum that lets you turn off cryo sickness from the radial menu.
Scorched Earth is way more vibrant and colourful now! I used to complain that it was all very sameish, but they really made different parts of the map feel and look more individual now!
It's a desert wasteland, there isn't much color to work with lol. It's either dark tan or light tan.
I actually really love how the dragon trench is now lit up in all of the nests..... so much easier to see them now
From personal experience, the most I have seen in the wyvern trench was around 10 wyverns. That was after hanging around the trench for a good while and after an admin has wiped since the difficulty had changed. I do not think it is an issue with your server. I think they either messed up the spawns or purposely cut the spawns down. We will see in the future. Good luck and can't wait to see your finished town in the long run ^^
Is it just me or does anyone else get nervous when AC130 is near a rock golem bc it would one shot his bug / flying type lymantria with a 4x super effective rock move?😅
If you want to make vaults for your stuff, might I suggest your next western town building be a bank? Lots of storage, locked up where no good-for-nothin' outlaws can rustle it out from under you!
Also, blue obelisk is a lag-fest on console. So are those tall mountains to the west. Not sure what's eating all the processing power, but I can't be in that area at all.

@@sarahgrellchen5687 he didn't cheat there were no specifications or rules other than "use the slingshot", so technically he was allowed to use other taming methods as long as he included the slingshot 😜

For Faso taming, rocks are mostly only useful for resetting the control bar. Salt nodes give a small amount and metal nodes give the most. Metal is rare in the desert where the Faso spawns so use the various salt node oasis among the dunes
Our tribe used waypoints on the salt clusters in the desert and it was relatively easy to tame a pair of 140s that way. Takes time and explosives but relatively easy with the salt.
Any rock that drops metal is apparently effective on them from what I've heard, not just pure metal nodes. It's just that generic rocks on Scorched drop sand instead of metal. So if they spawn on maps like Rag and LI in the future (they use the generic dune spawn zones apparently so it's not unlikely) they'll become comically easier to tame.
A 'Butte' , is what I would call the rock formations, (flat top sheer cliff mountains) depicted on this map. You can see real life example of similar rock formations in Monument Valley in Arizona/Utah area.

Those rock formations are either Mesa’s or Butte’s by the way! A type of mountain and they are super common here in the US especially in Arizona and New Mexico!
for the wyvern trench, the first time i went there in singleplayer there were at most 2 wyverns in the whole trench, but every time since then that ive gone back its been compleatly overflowibg with wyverns

The bones seemed to do more torpor to the fasolasuchus in my brief testing…maybe metal nodes will do even more.

Theory:
The Carnos were two herds. Both were following Yutyrannus and they died. Which meant they just wandered around together.
That's what I'm thinking. Carnos will attack any Yuty other than the one they've spawned with, but the attacked Yuty won't defend itself nor will its own pack defend it. So odds are two packs crossed paths, both groups of Carnos killed the other's Yuty leader, and then they just vibed with one another and the local solo Carnos.

You should have different creatures inside every building as workers lol. The Groggy Galli would have a Galli behind the bar, Jerboa General would have a Jerboa maybe with bowler hat or regular one, and the jail or bank would maybe have a Procoptodon. If it were in the bank it would definitely need a bowler hat bankers usually had those hats i believe.
Edit: Or maybe the moth would run the Jerboa general lmao

On my single player the wyvern trench was absolutely full to the brim with wyverns, couldn’t get close without like 5 aggroeing
You should make a Mayors House near the saloon and store and use that as your base. If you’re making it like a small western town it would be fitting

Apparently the best thing to ram a Fasolasuchus into is salt nodes, they grant the most torpor.
I'm sure it has already been mentioned but the woolly rhino horns you been getting from red drops can be used to tame mantis at about the same efficiency as death worm horns. If your looking to tame one sooner rather then later. I've also noticed a reduction of wyverns in the trench as well as them de aggroing and possibly despawning after getting eggs.

You should build a stock yard next to your train station that could make a good breeding area. Pretty much all train stations in the old west had stock yards because of how important cattle trade was

Metal nodes are the best, they give 5x the amount of a salt node, 85-25 has like 4 of them and 100+ rocks and salt deposits at around 75-12, would suggest memorizing them before using them cause they are many but need to be chained correctly or else the Faso dismount (8 nodes to be specific)

Whatever you do, don’t carry a potential tame on top of those plateau next to the Crystal and try to tame it. They glitch into the hills if you go out of render.

Your friend is lying or blind if he didn’t see wyverns in the trench. I went to check it out and after 2 minutes they were EVERYWHERE. When I grabbed an egg, if I looked behind me I started dropping frames like they were going out of style. And I don’t have a bad pc.
That’s why he was talking about doing a Dino wipe. Sometimes there can be an under or over spawn of creatures
syntac should've just tried to bring the argy bodies to heal it. he probably could've fully tamed it with the slingshot that way

As someone who knocks creatures out with horses all the time (which gets their health quite low) I’ve never seen something naturally heal while knocked out

Figured I'd let you know since no one else has corrected/informed you. The Mountains in scorched can be separated into 3 categories and only a few of them can be called "mountains". The small ones are buttes, the medium are mesas and the incredibly large ones are called Plateaus.
The Argy is my favorite critter in Ark.

There’s an argy trap by fatdog that’s insanely efficient literally a stone foundation, three walls , a door and a slanted roof. Works 100% of the time for me.
GL building train tracks. I had to do it in creative I got too frustrated by how expensive it was and snapping and terrain placement.
Yes, when taming the Fasolasuchus hitting resource nodes like metal is Significantly better than regular rocks, the easiest is to use the salt nodes out in the dunes.

Taming the new sand puppies best thing to do is go into the desert and hit salt rocks there is a mappable route to keep it controlled and get a lot of torpor

Scorched Earth can screw you over one second then gift you with the best thing ever the next. I had a level 150 Argy taming, I was sitting a little ways away from it on my Thyla, I stepped away for 2 seconds to grab a drink and when I came back it got killed by a Carno. Then, around half an hour later I found a level 140, and managed to tame it. Great weight stat too. This game makes me so conflicted haha.

I'm using the Cryo Sickness Protection mod on my server. Works great for PvP servers when you don't want restrictions.
I know, having an argy early on feels op but I just flew by a third alpha in my new playthrough so I don't feel bad anymore.

Metal is definitely the best to run into, but there isn't a lot out there. There is some by red ob.
2:00 if you use (public trains mod) you and the boys can all use the same train. build a main line then branch off the their bases. then have admin force (give to me) claim a long strip of track and they can build their own station. they give you the train and cars to place on the main line. they each force claim the train. now all of you can use the same tracks with your own station and your own trains. without clog i g up the map with tracks for 4 trains.

The trap with 3 double door walls, 1 double door,1 ramp, and 1 foundation is the best and easiest trap ever. It also causes the argy to get stuck better and gives more time to open the door and trap it... I just set them up in high argy areas and keep them there in case I see better colors or high levels. They are cheap, easy and small so I just leave them.

Wireless/Pipeless system bums me out cos I can't build massive bases any more at least not without dotting water tanks and generators all over the place. A lot of QOL changes in ASA but some that seem a step backwards too.

you should try taming a rock golem with the slingshot
Many tames are tracked passively after taming and when taming something new it will give you the stats of a tamed creature because of the passive tracking, you have to go into tracking and de-highlight all tamed creatures to fix that bug

Why to this day the scorpion doesn’t have a torpor attack is crazy. It is the perfect creature to have a solid torpor attack.

I personally like the scorpions even tho they are kinda weak one time i made a pit put 5 of them in said pit put them on aggressive and fed a few survivors to them was fun
