In regards to the megatherium in your town, you could have it sit so its back is against a railing or one of the hitching posts outside the tavern, and put a bottle next to its hand, and make it the town drunk. 😅🥴

You could set up a “travelling merchant” at the edge of the town. Using the cart and stock it with boxes and a sign “Pego Procurements” and then just fill the crates with stuff you’ve lifted from Jim, Axe and Evo.
A horse stables / coral.
A ranch and field - normally it’d be cattle, but you could have a Galli herd.

When you eventually tame an oasisaur, you should also use a fire wyv. The oasisaur doesnt take damage from the wyvs breath attacks which makes it much easier.

Loving the western town so far. I made one with a friend of mine and we called it "Banditos Boneyard" made an a-frame house with a bar and poker room in it. But coded in some mesopithicus to sit around the poker table to make it look like they were playing poker. And added one to the piano of course. Also my bartender is a Raptor lol.

Some old western towns did occasionally have *some* fences around the outskirts of their towns. I don't know if this is just Hollywood being Hollywood, or if it was an actual thing with purpose, but you could put patches of fencing to bottle neck in places and keep other parts from creatures just wandering in. Not around the whole city, but just here and there 'broken' fencing. Might help a little bit with the occasional terror bird or saber
