@TouchMyWeenis me too I don't have it! i have brushes but not the settings menu! --- PS: fixed it by Click on the brush panel options (the little triangle in the upper right corner) and make sure "expanded view" is checked.
thank you!! a lot of youtube tutorials now have the new photoshop which has different options that cant be done in older versions, so this really helpful!
Great video and very helpful but I wish you had addressed how to make the line straight. Yours looks to be but I can't figure out if there is a setting or what that made that happen. Every line I get is crooked.
@TouchMyWeenis He meant he does not have it as I do not have it in CS3. It does not matter how you gonna reach this part of menu, there is no Spacing in CS3.
Thanks! I am certainly amateur when it comes to Photoshop and between this video and your: Custom brush, Custom shape video (Photoshop Tutorial - Episode 18 - Custom Brush, Custom Shape) I was able to successfully make a dashed line with a newly created brush within 12 minutes.
damn it theres so much i dont know about photoshop but still nice nice!!! i played with the options here and there!! amazing things you can do with this principle!!!! thanks!!!
Thank you for this tutorial! But any tips of making dashed circles? I tried the rectangle tool, but the the side of the circle does not look what I want it to be i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll115/Ashkeroth/Capture_2.png
Ok! Got It! Brush tip shape. Damn, you talk fast and makes other to miss the connecting links. You should make an emphasis: ""BRUSH TIP SHAPE". When you click on it - here is the menu what everyone is looking for with Spacing. Now, I'm wrong CS3 has it too. ;-)
hi. after strok path and select the brush and click on ok: not apply for Dotted/Dashed Line. whats problem with my photoshop? my photoshop is cs5 but damn can not create a Dotted/Dashed Line!
Wow... thanks man... I'm usin' this for tickets for my bands concert and couldn't figure that out... thx again. If anybody wants to go and lives in the san bernardino area just comment for tickets and like us at facebook(dot)com/atfa777 where it says dot should be a . and thx again
sorry i meant the top left hand corner of your dotted box is uneven, can you explain how to even out the corners, I can't find anything on it at all. Thanks again
finally i was able to do this after hours of searching and trying!!! thank you!!!! you made it really easy. you went a bit quickly but thank god for rewind :-) ... you're awesome. i gave you a google share and subscribed as well. keep it up...we need ya!
This is a really good tutorial, but one thing that I can't work out is how to tidy up corners of a dashed or dotted box. The box you have created has 2 dots overlapping at the top right hand corner of the box you created. Can you explain how you can tidy up the corners of a dashed line box so that each corner is the same and evenly spaced. Thanks

How the hell is this not just a simple tool, or part of the line menu? GAAH
You've created a monster! I've been trying to figure this out for ages for the clothes I make for Second Life. Thank you so much.
@TouchMyWeenis

Thank you for a simple tip, very useful.
Thank you for this quick and useful tutorial!
@numediaweb what version of CS you got? The "expanded view" did not bring Spacing in CS3
+ 1 for adding the " Click here for tut" button - Thanks!!
Anytime.
Great video and very helpful but I wish you had addressed how to make the line straight. Yours looks to be but I can't figure out if there is a setting or what that made that happen. Every line I get is crooked.

@TouchMyWeenis
me too I don't have it! i have brushes but not the settings menu!
Why would you name thos video "dashed line"?
Because you can use this effect for dashed lines as well, I thought that was pretty obvious...
Marvelous! Will be back!
Thanks! I am certainly amateur when it comes to Photoshop and between this video and your: Custom brush, Custom shape video (Photoshop Tutorial - Episode 18 - Custom Brush, Custom Shape) I was able to successfully make a dashed line with a newly created brush within 12 minutes.

I don't see "spacing" option in my version. Mine is CS3, not enhanced version.
Can you make letters or a word become dotted lines? Thanks
Good work.

dotted lines and dashed lines are two different things. you showed how to make dotted lines ;)

Thanks appreciate your tutorials.
This is just a dotted tutorial.
1:16 is the part to pay attention to. Selecting the brush is important if you're looking for different styles
wouldnt hurt to spend another minute or two to demonstrate how to do a dashed line...

@McPhilsen No, still desperate... It helped to change a shape in somewhat but not dotted line.

@TouchMyWeenis
Hi there, how do you change the dots to dashes and how to make text dotted or dashed like letters and numbers? Is there a tutorial?
I don't know if it's been mentioned in the comments, but for those who can't see the path, you may not have your View>Extras checked.
sorry i meant the top left hand corner of your dotted box is uneven, can you explain how to even out the corners, I can't find anything on it at all. Thanks again
This tutorial is only for dotted lines, I don't see any dash lines.
Thank you, phew, I was having trouble understanding this until now!
thanks! it's short, and simple to understand :)
Thank you so much!!! it solve my problem

It does not work for me. CS5
i have no spacing
Excellent! Quick. Simple. Informative. I used PS3 and it worked like a charm.
Thanks so much.
:)
This is a sequence of dots, not a dashed line... I want "square" edges and longer lines, i.e. 20 pixel line 10 pixel gap.
Thank a lot 4 ur help
