Mini Workbench with a Moxon Vise made with hand tools (mainly)

- In this video I am making a mini workbench that I had planed for over an year now. The initial plan to make it quite simple but during the build of the mini workbench I change a lot of things. The biggest change was that I decided to attach the top to the legs with with half blind half lap dovetails, and those were the very first dovetails I ever cut.
The second change was in the design of the legs to make them look better and finally lastly I decided to change the width of the top by adding two boards (1 3/4" x 1 1/16" // 44x27mm ).
I really liked the way the mini workbench came out and hope you like it to!

Limited space, limited budget, limited skills - but finally you got there. So there is no excuse anymore to get started. Great video! Love it.
Thank you!
So refreshing to see someone make one of these with minimal hand tools, in a minimal space. Sick of seeing people make this sort of stuff using their all powered automated home woodworking factories with 20 machines lol, like they need a mini workbench!
😉
Lesson: If you're waiting till you can afford "the best tools" to get into woodworking, you're doing it wrong. You are an inspiration, Nikos. Subscribed.
Thank you Grimey Beast, your comment is one of the nicests I ever got.
Good job. You built a functional tool. Enjoyed watching.
This is inspiring ! I love it not because a fancy workbench build with modern equipment, but the commitment and creativeness to overcome the odd and make a splendid workbench. Well done, i gonna make my own workbench like this as soon as i get wood to work with
Thank you very much! And best of luck with yours workbench!
@@NikosDIY by the way, i have a question. After a long time you use this workbench, what do you wish that you could have done in the first time ?
@@hohuy1469 figure out a way to make the vise a quick release.
Love the creative use of tools for the dovetails! 👍🏻 Thinking outside the box... 👏🏻
You are brighter than a whole lot of people. Great job
It's the thumbnail with yellow glow. 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 Thank you.
Wow, that was a lot of work! And good experiencing trying some new joinery techniques. Plus, you made something useful, that you will enjoy working with for years to come.
Thank you! I did really learn quite a lot making my mini workbench.
They look great though
Glad im not the only one who uses a hacksaw! bought giant blades in the end and just made a frame saw for them, works MUCH better than a dovetail saw, just ask Paul Sellers =)
I think I've seen Paul Sellers (the legendary woodworker) use one at some time. It's nothing, absolutely nothing wrong in using it for, even dovetails.
Your "unperfectness" encourages me ;)
Happy to hear this! Will over skill!
Awesome work! That was a lot of work, I'm sure - but it turned out great! That bench will be so useful in the future.
Thanks for making and sharing my friend! Keep it up!
Thank you mate! Much appreciated. It was a bit of work but it was a lot of fun as well.

Keep up the good work !
Ευχαριστώ πολύ. Δε διαθέτω αρκετό χώρο, αν είχα το χώρο θα είχα κ περισσότερα εργαλεία.
I need that one ,lol
👍👍👍👍
The holes through the round handles are unnecessary and they make it weaker I believe. That's kind of a metal thing to strengthen metal and reduce heat but that doesn't work with wood the same.
Inever put to much thought into them, I just liked the handle design that Neil Paskin had in his Moxon Vise (& his mini workbench of course).
