    The episode aired in 1996 - which means the "new" groups they featured - Smashing Pumpkins, Cypress Hill, Sonic Youth - are now in the category of Grand Funk Railroad. "It'll happen to you!" - as Abe Simpson said.

    I remember being like 10-12 when I first saw this on tv and I didn't have a clue on what Grand Funk Railroad was, obviously finding music wasn't as easy back then as it is now so many years after I accidentally found Shinin' on while browsing through TH-cam and fell in love with it. Out of all the 70's bands I can think of, Grand Funk is definitely number one on my list at this moment.

      I'm 25. Most modern music doesn't interest me at all. I got influenced by my mum, and dad. I love mostly stuff from the 1960's-1990's. The 80's is probably my favourite era for music. Don't get me wrong, some of the early to mid 00's was decent but after that the good music dried up for me.

    • @sobr4986
      @sobr4986 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      No. There was actually a huge Classic Rock resurgence in the 90s; well, at least for high-school aged kids. Led Zeppelins popularity especially soared, while Jimmy Buffett went from largely forgotten one-hit-wonder to megastar. Eric Clapton became everyone's favorite Blues guitarest after his MTV Unplugged appearance, Tom Petty had a massive hit album with Wildflowers (and #1 hit with "You Dont Know How It Feels") and on and on
      The commentary is correct for how kids generally feel about their parents music, but it wasn't exactly an accurate example of 90s kids view towards 60s-70s music
