Hi mate You can get the flame to adjust a lot lower if you do the mod... pretty easy...just search it up on TH-cam there are a few videos on how to do it Cheers
I've used both, the camp chef is a little higher btu and will boil slightly faster than hyperflame. Half the time, no. Lol. Also that is a different league of "portable" cook top, the camp chef is 3X the size and weight and won't work when space and weight is a factor (campers and car camping for example)
Bought the Coleman Eventemp stove 6 months ago we camp every f/n on our 3 acre block (on the top of a hill) at Mannum it IS windy, but is surrounded by the tent, gazebo & hubby's van, the gas bottle is FULL but honestly Im going to chuck it it's been the worst thing we bought to boil 2 x 300ml cups of water for a cup of tea it takes approx 10min on HIGH & for 2x people to cook bacon approx 15min PLUS on high....What the heck is going on a person could STARVE waiting for the damn thing to cook ANYTHING
G'day Patricia, I believe the Coleman Eventemp has the classic open gas burners without the Windblock shield like the Hyperflame. I used to have the same issue with my last portable unit with open burners.
Hey John, I've found out there is a little modification you can do to more easily adjust the temperature, I'll see if I can do it to mine and put up a video on it.
Check out Explore Bound's video on how to fix the heat problem. Basically remove the dials, give them a clean, spray with silicone spray and put them back on and you get way more control over the heat. Hope this helps.

Thanks Nate. Appreciate it mate. I’ll have a look and sort it out 👍
Dosent work.
@@johnmcmillan7996 worked on mine
The Camp Chef Explorer 2X will boil that in half the time, and is great at simmering also.
I’ll have to look into that if this one ever packs it in.
Sounds like a good unit.

There are vids on how to get a simmer from them:
Remove nut, remove the valve stem, wipe off the heavy grease and apply lighter lubricant, reassemble.
Definitely fixes the problem!
Cheers Mate that’s helped us out
No worries Duncan, glad to have helped.
Hey mate, how long does the gas bottle last your, just deciding if I should go th e 2kg or 4kg.

Hey mate,
I get about 3-4 days out of the little 1.25kg just cooking with it.

Sorry, Everest, not Explorer.

Don't like this cooker.
Not possible to cook slowly as for e.g. simmer.
Great for boiling water but cannot cook anything slowly, therefore usless.
