    Once a year? I wash my bristle brush every day, it brings natural oils from ur scalp to the ends of ur hair, so you need to clean your brush after brushing. I use a bit of shampoo then apple cider vinegar.

    My beard is similar to yours it feels so good to brush it with a boar bristle brush on my head and face. Every so often I clean my brush much like you do minus the turpentine stage. Perhaps because I have not used wax on mine. My wife wants me to shave my covid lockdown bread off. As she is tired of finding long gray public hairs around the house and clothing. But at my age I can not imagine a punishment that would work. I told her that she could have control of all my body hair but only if she gave me control of her body hair. Lately she has not brought up the subject. 🤔

    I used a cheap ziplock bag to put my comb adn brush in the freezer. It works much better than just scraping it. I have a metal rake type brush cleaner and use pipe cleaners from the dollar store for my comb. The dish soap idea works pretty great too.

    • @ptrkmr
      @ptrkmr ปีที่แล้ว

      Why the ziplock back tho?

    • @samh7602
      @samh7602 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ptrkmr So the comb and brush aren't touching anything else in my freezer. For sanitary/hygiene reasons. Viruses and bacteria can live on surfaces for a long time. Some can even live in freezer temperatures for hours to years/decades. You don't want stuff from your hair getting on your food packaging or into your food, and vice versa.
      This is why sars cov2 spread even though there were lockdowns (too late), most got vaccinated and wore masks. They weren't cleaning surfaces well, or washing their hands adequately.
      For example, if you touch the outside of a cereal box, and the bag inside then don't wash your hands, just dig into the cereal and snack on it, then you probably got sick. Chances are the person at the store who put it back on the shelf, or the stocker was sick and had dirty hands. You took the virus from the outside of the package, or the outside of the bag inside, and put it directly into your mouth and introduced it into the rest of the bag of cereal.
      You don't want some funky bacteria from the outside of a package you just put in the freezer transferring to your comb and then messing up your scalp. So separate it, by putting it in a bag or some other container.

    Letting the turpentine stop on the wooden table...😵
    I like that you cleaned your brush so thoroughly; I highly suggest cleaning it more often, especially since you use products in your beard. If youre brushing daily, I would recommend washing at least once a month. But you seem happy with your routine, so whatevs!

      Just tried with isopropyl alcohol and it removed nearly all of it. Letting it dry over night to see if it removes the rest. Tried several other videos today and no go. Like you bought a new one. Did his full freezer, clean, soak/scrub and alcohol soak and it is nearly brand new. Only lost 10 or so hairs and pretty sure they were only held in with old wax.
