Although I've not seen Glenn Shorrock live, I consider myself very fortunate. In 1986 I played in a band that supported John Paul Young (he was a complete gentleman too us despite the fact that we were gnats to his megastar status at the time), saw Doug Parkinson perform live several times including in Jesus Christ Superstar, and in 1990 saw Jack Jones with Southern Sons live while at university. Rest in Peace Doug. Hope my Mum (passed 02.01.2022) and Dad (passed 13.12.1990) don't pester you too much too perform for them. They were both big fans of your talent - as am I.
R.I.P Doug An Aussie Legend gone to Soon. 74 years young. Tears running down my face writing this and listening to this song. You have been a Aussie legends for so long. Condolences to your wife family friends and Australian Music Industry. 1946-2021 😪😪😪😪😪😪😪
Agree that Doug Parkinson stole the show! This guy is one of the most underrated singers of all time. Doug Parkinson and Renee Geyer are possibly the two best blues/rock singers Australia has ever produced. Doug still rocks! Love to hear him do "Dear Prudence" live again. When it first came out I thought it was HIS song it got so much airplay! Took years to realize it was a cover of the Beatles.
+Dimitri Milewicz at that time there was a big move to promote home grown Aussie talent............so radio stations only played local performers.....which meant that the best songs from overseas were covered by Aussie singers.....and that is how most of them got their start...............think back to the time and artists and the songs.............all covers.
Never truer words spoken. I have seen Doug and Renee live, where you get a better appreciation of the power of their vocals. I first heard Doug back in the 60s when he was with Focus and I was a school boy. He was a bit of wild lad back then, which appealed to my youthful exuberance. But that voice! I think Dear Prudence was the flip side of the Beatles Hey Jude 45. I remember getting into an argument with a pommy school mate about which was the better version, the Beatles or Doug. Rene is a national treasure. Glen is also one of our all time best.
was so saddened to hear of the death of this legend and that voice! There'll never be another Doug Parkinson. Left us too soon. So sorry for his family's loss. Can listen to that voice for hours.
Saw these guys with Russell Morris doing Beatles songs at the Opera House but unfortunately without Doug who was sick. Not long before Doug passed away.
i think all of these guys have been grossly under rated for to long...treated as flash in the pan or 1 of's when younger, then trotted out every decade or so for a remember me....they deserve much better...
You are 100%right I found this clip while looking for jackvale and sonsofarkham liquid ass and fart prank videos. You know thoses farts that sound like a little bit of poo has come out? Anyway don't let me get side tracked these Aussie blokes are awesome.
Had the pleasure of seeing Doug Parkinson live about 6 yrs ago in Albury being from the UK I hadnt heard of him but he blew me away such a voice and a performer and some of the best covers i have heard
Awesome performance! Doug Parkinson, you are just absolutely amazing. I love listening to you! Irwin...well, you are just a legend. Your voice is second to none! Love, love, love listening to you all!
Parko. One of the WORLD'S greatest singers. Seen him live 2 or 3 times and he blew everyone else off the stage. Simply superb. I agree the others in this clip aren't bad but none of there near Parko's class and ability
I'm fee bad for just discovering DOUG PARKINSON Just now since he. Passed but I'm gunn make up for it !! I'll fair n a couple a sponge his here n there in between my trash metal & dethmetal n bulllshitcraazy stuff I Need to listen toToday ! His earlier work is magic! WHAT A. VOICE🤘🤐
You have so much to catch up on. Doug Parkinson had an amazing song. An Aussie Icon who has gone to soon. He will never be forgotten neither will his music 💞
Wonderful performers good memories came flooding back. Love the guys to make an album together.... enormous talent they capture the true essence of entertaining.
What happened to Irwin’s beautiful long hair he used to have? Same with Glenn Shorrock who hardly has any hair left. All four of these guys still had great voices after many years. I used to be friends with Doug Parkinson many years ago and shoot photos for him at some of his live shows in Melbourne. He did a private show at some club and I had to go there to give him the photos I had shot and he was with his band out the back of the venue and he and his whole band were seated at a nice table having a beautiful meal together at the invitation of the venue owners. The final time I saw Doug Parkinson he told guitarist Pip Joyce that I was welcome to shoot photos of his at any place at all at that live gig. He was a very kind and friendly man that I have pleasant memories of. He used to have a bodyguard friend of his in Melbourne named Ken Lessar who used to allow Doug to stay at his place whenever he was in Melbourne. Doug’s one wish he told me was to do a duet album of soul and blues songs with female singer Renee Geyer, but it never happened because Renee wouldn’t do that album with him.
I love this, I ONLY need to hear Jack playing guitar [voodoo underpants era] Michael Landau, to get musically off, but here, we have 4 excellent vocalists that can EASILY match it with any yank. Funny thing here is, OZ muso's don't need to dress up like wankers to get the message across. The USA depends on that wank........
Guys, so sorry - so much a big fan of all of you but Jeez none of you hold a candle to Doug Parkinson, the greatest rock/blues/whatever singer of all time. So sorry to deflate your balloons. Try harder please.
RIP Doug.....another Aussie great sadly now gone !! What a voice ! 😔

I was privileged to see this show in Adelaide. Doug was wonderful. We have lost a great man.

Awesome performance! Doug Parkinson, you are just absolutely amazing. I love listening to you! Irwin...well, you are just a legend. Your voice is second to none! Love, love, love listening to you all!
The're all great singers, but when Doug bellows out it's just magic
Just as the world is a better place for The Beatles, Australian music better for legends like these guys.
They are all my LEGENDS from the 70's on - ROCK ON

Wow,this version is so mighty!Sounds a little bit unusual because I'm accustomed to hear Paul singing but still very very good.
This is the only DP a bloke can enjoy.

Awesome is all I can come up with.
I love dough the power
Fabulous! 🤩
Did Jack Jones start out singing for/with John Farnham?
年歲大了,嗓音的保持着实不易、烟酒都是重要原因,再加氣力不足,平时还真要多運動才行。
Doug defiantly the better of the rest
Champion Mr Parkinson
Sadly Doug passed away today RIP
He was an amazing presence with a wonderful rich voice, he will be missed in the Australian music scene
Mum's the word
Vale Doug Parkinson.
Irvinnnnnnnnnn :)

I worked with these guys back in the day. This was sad. No passion. No connection between them. Just uncomfortable for me to see this.
