By the way, if you're a perfect transformation guy like me, you can use a little blob of blue tack to stick the gun into the palm crevice to hold the gun without hand swapping, and it works just fine, you don't really see it from more than a few feet away, and that way if you like to transform back and forth once in a while you don't have to keep the alternate fists around and which are begging to get lost under your floorboards or skirting.
So ScorchedEarthToys in addition to the Non-Canon Max Blue version and Shin Kudo’s VF-0D There’s also a VF-0A toy with a brand new ghost booster that happens to be out there so I’m looking forward to seeing your future reviews of those soon as the get posted.
Ok thanks for the information @ I’m looking forward to when those reviews happen. FYY i also have the Bandai Hi-Metal R VF-0S Phoenix Roy Focker Custom as well.
Great review of a really nice toy! I do though remember reading on the Macross World Forum that the different head lasers are so you get one set accurate to the cgi in the ova and the other set accurate to the (somewhat contradictory) line art, kind of a weird detail for Bandai to go to the trouble of including but it shows they care I guess. Looking forward to the VF-0D and your review of that later in the year!
So, the reason the blue VF-0S is called "Genius Blue Ver." instead of "Max Jenius Ver." is because Max Jenius wasn't in Macross Zero, never flew a VF-0S, and they just wanted to release a VF-0 in his color scheme for fun. They called it "Genius Blue" to evoke Max Jenius without saying it's his because it isn't him.
Looks beautiful. I just so wish the Zentaedi would get some loving too. Love to see some power armour or even some of the mecha from Macross II - Lovers again
I am sure that one thing that many macross zero fans is that whoever want to get the VF-0 but aren't willing to spend huge money and the risk of it breaking, this seems like an excellent affordable alternative i personally like it and would consider getting the A variant with the cannon fodder colors
Injist picked up one of these. I'm super impressed with the engineering on par with a Takara Masterpiece Transformer, but at the hight of Masterpiece Starscream's leg. Without the stand, it easily outclasses a shelf full of deluxe class mainline Transformers. The plastic feels very light, and I'm very scared of breaking it, but the most janky joints, especially in the chest part of the fuselage are on easily reatachable c-clips or ball joints. The hip joint cylinders scared the crap out of me when it loosened up when I was posing it for the first time. Over-all, it's a great display piece, but OMG, not a toy.
Great review, love how the VF-0 looks in the hi metal r line, wish Bandai re-release some Zentraedi bots and the special effect set for the missiles. Will you review the DX Chogokin VF-25F SUPER MESSIAH VALKYRIE (ALTO SAOTOME CUSTOM) that was released in april?
i really love these , they dont take a giant section of space and look great . My last valkyrie was when i was kid in asia in the 80s and had skull leader . my friends use to ask me where i got my robotech toys and i told thrm it was a macross toy and i didnt know what robotech was at the time lol
@@ScorchedEarthToysI think you had one on your website right? I think I remember being curious since you werent making videos and checked your website. It might have been the VF-25 global though. I just remember checking after macross went global.
@@gobartosan5768 Yes, when it came out I had a photobooth but no way to shoot videos. I'll circle back around though and get the review updated to cover all the variants and accessories.
@@ianmarrero4632 No it isn't. The VF-0 PWS-0X React armor is a completely different beast entirely and just barely resembles the VF-1 GBP-1S Armor despite the 2 years in-between both designs. The MVAS-1 Fastpack armor on the VF-1S Super and Strike Valkyries allows the Valkyrie to transform through it's various modes while the PWS-0X and the GBP-1S Armors lock the Valkyrie in the Battroid mode.
@@matthiasbonnici5266 oh okay, I just thought you meant that you wanted a more armored version of the VF which I thought the VF-1S Super Valkyrie would suffice 👍
What do you think the odds are of a dx chogokin VF-0? I know we are all still waiting for the yf-21 so I’m guessing the chances are low. By the way your videos convinced me to get my first macross chogokin the VF-1D and I love it!
I would say it's very unlikely. With the Arcadia toy being excellent, recent, and in the DX scale, I don't see a lot of incentive for Bandai to jump into that rather small market.
(not-so) Fun Fact, Bandai repeated the mistake made by Arcadia on their VF-0D and placed the gunpod mounting spot too far back, so the tailhook can't lower properly with the gunpod installed. Arcadia corrected this mistake with their later VF-0 toys, let's see if Bandai does the same.
This particular toy quite disappointed me in terms of build quality. It came apart in so many places during transformation. And clearances were pretty bad in some places, especially the arms going into fighter mode. And it seems to have been designed that way because there are joints that are simply just C clips. Bringing that blast shield over the canopy in battroid mode was a bit hairy.
I had more problems my first couple transformations when everything was very stiff. After the third or fourth transformation (and shooting the guide which requires doing the same step a few times), things started sliding and moving as intended.
@@ScorchedEarthToysYeah that probably works to loosen things up. But when you've just bought a very expensive toy, it's a terrible feeling. I think that has these designs get more and more sci-fi and fanciful, especially at the HMR scale, they are coming up against the limitations of the materials and engineering available.

any review on Kitz concept version 2 of Roy Focker VF1s?
I hope you do a review of Max's YF29, if only because its gorgeous and i think its the tightest most solid dx valk I've handled

They already released the super Valkyrie which is basically this on armored

Hi, is the size as the same as bandai DX Chogokin?
No, chogokins are about 30 cm long in fighter, this is about 19.
That is pretty much true.
Just realized that the stand thing might be a QC issue. Mine was obnoxiously tight and I had to loosen it.
Nice presentation. But I'll keep all mine in "1/60" scale for consistency and fewer loose parts.

Thank you for the review...These look so cheap, I'll just keep my Hi-Complete Valkyries
Would it be realistic to expect a Bandai DX VF-0?
Not impossible but I would guess it's very 'optimistic' rather than 'realistic'. I would for a HMR SV-51 and not even sure that's realistic.

Of all the VFs in Macross, I’m partial to the Phoenix and its Russian counterpart
