- DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) suspects that a patient is the victim of human trafficking, but when he takes matters into his own hands to stop it, the other surgeons have no choice but to confront him. Watch 'Grey's Anatomy' THURSDAY 9|8c on ABC.
The actor who plays Deluca really nailed this scene!
Yes it did. It really broke my heart.
He is italian,
His name is Giacomo Gianotti
Fr
Which one ? Cause there is two deluca in that scene
He died to protect that girl and every other victim of child trafficking. Rest In Peace Andrew ❤️
it’s not fair😭😭😭
🥺🥺
SPOILERS
That trafficker deserves to die! Not Andrew! She ruined everything! She took his life away!
If the staff at the hospital listened to him, Andrew would still be alive.
Man they better follow up with that patient because DeLuca was right they just didn't believe him with his manic episode.
That's why he's losing it, because they are painting him into this, his character is right alot of the time
Alex Olsen I hate it when the higher ups treat the newer ones like they don’t know anything
What season/ episode is this
Petty Person it is the most recent episode... season 16 ep. 18
ashley dickerson - well he is in a manic episode. i wouldn’t assume anyone was telling the truth in a manic episode, i’d probably be more worried about them. although he was right, if he goes to the cops without evidence they can’t do anything. people have rights legally and can use it as an excuse to get away with things :(
I don’t care what anyone says, next to Derek dying THIS is the saddest storyline in greys history. To watch a strong character crumble because of something he had no control over is so sad and it breaks my heart every storyline. I have never watched something with mania in a show, and it’s interesting and sad to watch it unfold in deluca. I hope he gets put on medicine to help him, he’s such a good doctor and character.
(sorry for the lomg reply) agreed. everyone complains about deluca and merluca and hating this storyline but grey's doesn't often deal with mental illness and this is a really important thing to display in a show, it's a rarity. this is a truly heartbreaking storyline and it's especially real for people with personal connections to mental illness. and as far as merluca goes, it is beyond important to show that despite your loved one struggling so much, it doesn't mean you have to leave them, you can still work things out. i really am glad they had meredith tell him she loves him still. i seriously hope they let them get through this together and show people that having mental health issues does not make you unworthy of love.
For some time I was hoping we would have a mental heath storyline because it’s important to show, and this is it, so emotional and realistic
A couple of shows with bipolar characters:
Homeland - lead character Carrie is bipolar as is her father. (Every season deals with Carrie's illness but Season 1 is the best overall and only 12 episodes.)
Law and Order SVU (Season 10 Episode 3 - a few late S9 episodes and the first two S10 episodes set up this episode where Det. Stabler's daughter Kathleen is diagnosed as bipolar inherited from her paternal grandmother.
yeah but he was right every time and thats even more frustrating
oh piss off, we've seen countless sadder story lines than this. Maybe actually watch the show with your eyes. April and Jackson's first baby. Plane crash and losing Lexi&Mark. The shooting and the trauma they suffered. April's crisis of faith. Teddy losing Henry. This was good but ntohing compared to the plethora of the amazing moments we've had in the first 12 years of the show
He’s not crazy. This man is heartbroken. No one believes him.
Yep. I initially noticed that the woman's behavior was off, and felt like she was guilty. But this scene confused me. I was like dang he is suffering with mental illness.
@gamelvr1 He wasn't suffering with that though. That woman was guilty.
That woman Opal is really a trafficker.
@gamelvr1 That woman was guilty. She is a trafficker. You are uneducated. Being ill doesnt make you wrong. You still got your instincts.
gamelvr1 he has mania like his dad which causes his outburst and bc he has this no one believes him and they think it’s just because of the mania
This sucks because at the end he was right but because of his father illness and because they thought him crazy his speculations were void
Exactly. His sister put the thought in Merediths head, Mer didn’t really know what to do so she started treated him like he was already broken, and now it just seems like he is trying to prove that he’s being right to people who think he’s irrational. And this in turn makes him act irrational because he feels like there is nothing else he can do.
A'Mariah Lovelace yes that is true but him hitting on Jo’ was crazy and irrational
Natasha Dwyer I’m talking about before that. He was literally pushed into a manic episode. Even in the beginning of the episode, he started off by going to Bailey because he felt something was off, but because she had already made up her mind that he wasn’t fully rational, she didn’t believe him. And in the scene with Jo he definitely had been drinking and he was upset (bad combo). He is not the only one to have gotten like that though.
A'Mariah Lovelace yes this is true. He has a lot of emotions right now. Especially since he is likely grappling with his feelings for Meredith and early on he always felt less than Mer. Actually that’s when all of this started.
@@natashadwyer8336 ok yeah, but those were normal feelings. If it wasn't for the fact that his father has mental problems, no one would think twice about it though. I don't get why people aren't also concerned for his sister though, she shares the same genetics. Was it talked about in a previous episode? I can't remember.
I LOVE THE DELUCAS. Broke my heart to see Carina terrified of losing her brother. The acting was brilliant (I hope Giacomo gets an award for this seriously) and the storyline is just keeping me at the edge of my seat. I also hope Stefania becomes a series regular because Grey’s needs someone like Carina.
Love the Deluca siblings too. and Giacomo was fab, And yes Carina needs to become a regular for sure
😟 I love DeLuca but hate this storyline with passion.
Episode was good. Sad to.see he was right all the way... Love Andrew
AMEN!!!!
The acting in this scene is brilliant!!! Brought me to tears. It was sooo real.
First of all, DeLuca forgave Karev after the punching incident.
Then, DeLuca took the fall for Mer.
And then THIS.
Why y'all makin this gorgeous nice guy the bad guy when he's been the Martyr from Day One?
To show human complexity? Or for people to see that's he's not a bad guy because he's mentally ill, since mentally ill people get a bad stigma. And they are showing him that they support him even if he doesn't see him. But they all care for him
I’m sorry but Alex thought he was raping Jo I would’ve attacked him too.
Dude they did it with Alex to
Mynx1986 but he forgive him. That isn’t anything anyone would do
Because mania
What’s sad is they didn’t properly check and just assumed he was delusional.
Andrew Bristow later in the episode Bailey calls the human trafficking hotline
Rob Harvey yeah but it’s too late because they let the aunt and the girl leave
Bailey examined the girl, but because the girl didn't act like she was afraid. She assumed that he was having mental issues.
Ladenna Young that’s no excuse. They didn’t even apologize to him for being wrong.
@@alisiaschumacher8770 they didn't even know if it was true because they didnt properly observe her.
He had a breakdown because they kept putting his illness over the situation and he realized that their view of him was costing an innocent life. And he was right! I need to see if they follow up on it next week
Well ... my gosh
It’s what doctors do coz it’s easy. Go on for pain and they see you have depression or mental illness and say it’s that when it could be cancer
They did in season 17. Unfortunately, he died from being stabbed by one of the traffickers accomplices but they did catch her and the girl was returned to her family.
@@denverlilly3669 what episode is this
@@dawonfields7360 It's actually the season premiere. It doesn't take up much of the episode but it does provide closure to her story.
if only they listened to him, deluca wouldn’t be gone 😢
Facts
I just found out that in a way they all caused his death...
frl yet they barely wanted a memorial for him yet it's their fault
they’re in part responsible for his death
They all owe him a HUGE apology because he was right and the saddest part is that they weren’t able to save the girl. Hopefully the girl comes back soon. There is no doubt that Andrew is a good doctor and a good person but that doesn’t change the fact that he needs help
Agree 100%
Yes because he freaked out...he will get blamed for this:/
Now he’s gone
Giacomo is such a good actor! He deserves all the awards for his performance in this episode and in the previous ones too!!! I was completely blown away!
He is not ill he is just heartbroken and desperate cause NO ONE THERE BELIEVES HIM. That must be the worst feeling in the world, that your own comrades, superiors, even the woman you loved don't trust you. He actually is the smartest there and could have helped that girl.
The way he has been acting is manic. He more than likely is mentally ill, so his actions and emotions are getting out of hand. BUT, that doesn't mean he's wrong about this.
he’s definitely ill, he just happens to also be right.
Yes he was right this time but the way he dealt with it was not right, it’s clear that he’s very mentally unwell. My heart breaks 💔
Yeah. I'm angry at Bailey and everyone else for not believing in him. If they believed him, that poor girl would have been saved! Shame on them. Smh
Lordy Belance unfortunately his mania overshadowed his concerns. he needs serious help. had he been of sound mind, they would’ve listened to him.
Giacomo deserves all the awards. Deluca isn't crazy. Deluca was right. Bailey needs to chill.
smileyfan16 Yup and he needs to press an HR complaint against his sister. I think she is the one who needs "help".
He's nailing this! Great acting.
Was he? I have no idea what's going on anymore.
smileyfan16 Girl he can be right and losing it at the same time 😂 they aren’t mutually exclusive. He’s clearly having a manic episode. If he was be rationale, they would’ve listened
StarPath Divine pls elaborate!
No no no no no this is crap!!
They should have believed him, they act like he’s crazy but every single one of them has done something crazy as well!
willmenalove- u cant blame them for thinking he’s crazy. he literally is lol. he could’ve handled this in a way better way but he acted erratic. it’s kinda his fault no one believed him. he had no evidence and he was screaming
The last few episodes you could see him getting more erratic
T C What about when Baily had her own mental illness? Everyone still valued her judgement
willmenalove because she didn’t take a child and scream in the hospital
erna t there is no “lol”. He’s not crazy he is right and he also has a mental illness. I HATE thinking I’m crazy for something I can’t control. He’s not crazy, I’m not crazy, we’re just struggling with mental illness. He just needs some support.
The actress who plays Corinna deserves an Emmy, she Keillor it in that scene.
Really?
@-- the pain she demonstrate watching her brother having a mental breakdown... Just the 2sec they show her u can see that helpless pain and agony of seeing a loved one Hurt
True, she did great but personally I think if anyone deserves an award for this scene it should be the actor who plays Andrew. He did great
Carina*
@-- HAHAHA
when everyone thinks he’s crazy but he’s actually right 😳
I mean he’s both 😬
Omg was he right right? I missed the episode tonight and idk where I can watch it 😭😩😩😩😩😩
Yas awesome performance 💪
rae Fig abc app or Hulu and if not try to find some other website👌🏾
@@rachelfigueroa3681 It will be on Hulu at 5am eastern time
That "stop it" was so powerful. It literally was a cry for help.
Although he was right, I still think he should get help
well yes, he was right, but the reason no one believed him was his mania - it completely overshadowed him. And when he got desperate, it got even worse to the point that he was a danger, at least in the others eyes.
Lance Diaz wait he was right I was confused when the daughter and her aunt walked out the hospital ?
@@jorgemunoz5182 I don't think he was right about it being human trafficking like he thought, but definitely some kinda abusive relationship.
Ditto.
Is this in the next episode which I did not see yet
This is heartbreaking. What the hell did they do to Deluca, is this just to get Mer closer to the new guy?? Geez.
No. It’s to actually explore mental health.
@@DisneyPlayhousetv this show is no stranger to exploring mental health. This is character assassination and I absolutely believe it's about separating him from Meredith to make way for the new guy. Who curiously, doesn't interact with anyone else. He's always lurking around her. Looking for a reason to say something to her. It's far more annoying than it is charming.
@@a_noelles i hope this experience does the complete opposite and instead brings the two of them closer. It's sad how they built him up to be such a good person then completely destroys him in just a few episodes.
@@sascharaine883 Agree. Hate this storyline but Giacomo Gianniotti is brilliant in his portrayal of it! He's acting his butt off 😃.
A_Noelle and Derek wasn’t like that? All the love interests start off singular then when a relationship is established they make friendships
This honestly broke my heart. Cause at this point i really believed him.
He was right.
@@kylieghnicole i know. I just meant before this scene i kinda doubted. So the revelation just made me sad.
He is still not well though. He is way too focused on being right, like you can be right and suffer a mental illness. But they also need to learn and trust that just because someone has a mental illness doesn't make them completely incompetent at what they do. It's basically Carrie from Homeland season 1. Was sis right the whole time? Yes. But sis was also manic as hell. So it's like everybody needs to get their act together.
I believed him from the beginning. Bailey's handling of it was biased from the start. She failed that patient. I hate this storyline but the fact that he told them all and no one took it seriously enough to even look into it further and they were able to just walk out is bananas. That's a fail for the entire hospital.
@@birdiewolf3497 i think the problem is that he does not want to see that he is ill.... if he would start a treatmant and watch out for him self and belive them when they tell him that he needs help, they would trust him
As a Doctor, I just want to say, they NAILED this scene. I have seen the stress and pressure of medicine, break brilliant Doctors.
It’s one of the reasons why addiction and suicide is such a problem in the medical community.
This scene really got to me. Although it is obviously heightened for drama, the pain is so real.
Can we just take a moment and appreciate Giacomo's acting?
Heartbreaking! Deluca is one of my faves. Giacomo was brilliant in this scene esp that heartbreaking cry. And overall he was right.
I just hope he gets well soon and comes back soon. Meredith soothes his arms too. awww.
Giacomo's acting was sensational, what an amazing actor he is woow !!!
carina crying makes me tear up
he was right all along that’s embarrassing for the rest of the hospital
nobody believed him, and now look at the price he had to pay for it.
😭
It’s sad cause he was definitely right but his mania just made things difficult to believe. Horrible that people actually have to go through this
The sad part about all this, is that he is most likely having a manic episode ( if he is not, there is no way of knowing because of his irrational behavior). Some will argue that this behavior just popped up out of no where, but he has been making rash decisions for some time ( he’s just gotten lucky ) he has been spiraling down hill for awhile. This is why Grey’s to me is such a goid show, they (the writers) shows us through story just how messy and amazing life can be.
It's called the stickiness of labels- if someone labels you as crazy, people will treat you as such, right or wrong; then that will colour each and every reaction you have to that person. so even if they are telling you the truth, if that truth is improbable you will file it under crazy and not listen.... people slip through the cracks because of it and it can become self forfilling because then that person ends up distrusting in the system and becomes isolated and that can cause or heighten already "unstable behaviour"..... He was probably border line mentally ill but because of people's reactions to him it has forced the situation
Deluca was always right, it's sad that he's gone now.
Bailey: "iF yOu EveR wAnt tO StEp iN My hOsPitaL aGaiN."
Shut up Bailey.
I fucking hate Bailey now. I lives her at first but when she became chief it just went downwards with her. She’s lucky that she had Richard as chief when she was a resident and attending because she did so many things wrong in the series. Just to round this up she’s a hypocrit.
@Kirstie Fradeus I know. Deluca was making a scene. He was right about the woman but I don't know maybe he could have handled it differently. Everyone on this show has made a scene. I just don't like Bailey.. Bleh nevermind..
Dr bailey is an awsome actor
What is she mad at
Good job dr bailey
I really hope they refer back to this episode, like find out on the news that he was right and that something happened to the girl OR that she is back there again or something. I really want them to know he was right! Ugh, hope they don’t just forget about this episode and it’s ending when the girl left with that woman 😐
Nathaly Sanchez Bailey said to Meredith that he was right
Nathaly Sanchez it’s not that he was right or wrong, it’s the handling that’s the problem, the reaction, the extremity of his reaction.
Evelyn Jegede I see, yeah that is true.
Carly Johnson oh she did? I swore she said something like “I hope he wasn’t right” damn I have to go back now and rewatch the ending lol!
Carly Johnson she said what if he was right.
Giaccamo is such an incredible actors who honestly deserves every award going, the sheer look on carinas face breaks my heart 🥺 such an amazing scene
Giacomo killed it tonight, and he been doing it last few episode. Fab.
Also rooting for him and meredith too future wise, dude needs to get better first.
I thought he was being manic. I guess the show wanted to put that message out there of how we brand people based on their predisposition to mental illnesses. Nobody even gave Andrew the benefit of the doubt because they all thought he was crazy. Powerful stuff.
For those of you who watched the full episode you’ll see that Deluca has a point as he might be right. There’s a scene right after of the “aunt” being sketchy and abusive towards the poor girl.
Miss_christie1217 and than?
He may have a point but he still is having a breakdown and needs help
Natalia And what would you do in his place. He is justifiably terrified for the girl - her damage likely comes from sexual abuse. And his colleagues are ganging up on him due to rumours spread by a sister. There are much better ways to handle these situations - and I mean than by this group - especially the sister with multiple issues and boundary issues both personally and professionally. Bailey should have called the police to investigate both possibilities: she is actually required to do so by law.
@@starpathdivine9402 firstly i wouldn't be acting extremely irrational and giving them even more reason to think i am having a breakdown ( which he is by the way). Regardless of how he handles the situation, he isn't well and needs help.
If you just know about one story from a person who survived humanthrafficking (or know that some are in this since a view month old! Knowing about sexual abuse on babies..) ..and you would see it and can not help.. and nobody wants to see it bc its not in there focus... I think a lot mental healthy people would react with the same frustration...
He’s too smart for them , his brain just processes things faster than they do so in the end they think that he’s manic until they actually catch up and understand what he was thinking
I love Deluca and the actor who plays him! So glad they are given his character such depth and storyline. This was phenom.
Why the hell is no one comforting Carina during this? Other than Webber touching her arm once she is nearly breaking down crying for her brother and no one seems to care?
I love how even though he snapped at her she still went with him at the end.
Carina and Andrew are sibling goals. They bicker but love each other...
Yes exactly!
Krisstina Wilson well webber is the best character and the most compassionate I love Richard his been through more then Meredith
It sucks because even though he was going through that. He was telling the truth about that girl who was trafficked
This broke my heart. I hate to see DeLuca like this. I wanted to cry too when he started breaking down. He's such an amazing actor. I hope he'll get some help soon. #LoveYouAndrewDeLuca
I'm seriously starting to hate Grey's anatomy all the men around Meredith is either unhinged and broken. Like God let her have someone who is stable won't make her any less a badass.
I disagree, this was actually very brilliant. It shows how a mental disorder slowly develops and what it can cause. It was done very well and actually one of the best things that ha happened recently in this show.
@@ip815 I'm not saying that the episode wasn't good I'm saying the show itself is starting to deteriorate it has few episodes that are good and that makes you think but the show itself on whole is, so so. Especially Meredith storyline. I bet the show will end Deluca storyline and she's going to end up with the new Scottish.
@@cherlinemacuis3785 Yeah the show is becoming pretty shitty, very much agree with that.
And shows that having a mental dissorder doesn't mean you are never right...
@@cherlinemacuis3785 I think it would be a good idea for the writers to stop trying so hard to pair Meredith up with someone new. Every new male doctor at Grey Sloan doesn't need to be into her. This Scottish guy so far adds nothing and has the personality of brown paper bag.
I hate what they have done to his character
You mean giving him some development? Giacomo is surely thanking the writers every day
Juan Vila yea I think it’s fun for the actors to show some range anyways
It’s interesting and adding depth to his character
Raaachella M why? It actually feels like you’re watching the older seasons...
Dumbass Krista Vernoff is looking for an excuse to ruin Deluca so that Meredith can date the annoying ass bald guy.
His storyline is breaking my heart. He knew what he was talking about, but his mania is overshadowing everything and it's so hard to watch.
Ashley Dykeman People have different emotional spectrums - doesn't always make them "mentally ill", his perceptions are heightened and his sense of urgency is as well - but it actually matches what is going on. This girl would die and certainly not go to a hospital again. Most of the girls are disposed of once they are damaged. Between Portland and BC hundreds of these girls have met that fate. There are few things more unsettling in this world than when you tell an important truth and it is ignored. Would we say that to Harvey Weinstein's victims. There are natural times when a little hysteria, is appropriate.
@@starpathdivine9402 I wasn't referring to that, sorry. I meant it was overshadowing him to the others - he was hysterical and they didn't take it as real. They took it as him having a breakdown.
Ashley Dykeman been there :(
My sweet precious man. He tried to help and no one listened to him and it cost him his life. The beginning of the end of the end for him. It’s so heartbreaking.
He's the smartest. He figured it out so fast! He did that just talking to her, and he discovered everything just doing that. And nobody believes him😭😭😭😭
But he was right

It’s a worried smile lol
I’m bipolar type 2, and while I’ve never had a fully manic episode (as with type 2 you only have hypomanic episodes, or mild manic episodes) I feel his pain
Same here. It's sad sometimes when certain things that we say makes people feel sceptical. Sometimes the correct answers or facts that we know, people will go like, hmm i need to double check with that. Im bpd2 too.
I’m type 1. I’ve had one like this
What episode is this????
HELLO????
Yo
They did him dirty
The best performance I’ve seen in a while..... DeLuca did a great job.....
I still haven't been able to watch this scene. It's just too heartbreaking for me. Literally every attending is surrounding him. People, look in the mirror and watch what you have been doing to DeLuca. He needs some respect. He's a lot smarter than you and a lot more confident by stepping up to his mentors.
I am still crying til this day. I bawl my eyes out at the mention of his name or when i see his face. I miss him so much. The only person who cared about the world and the people in it.. The best doctor and the best character in Grey's.
How could they just let Deluca leave like that by HIMSELF after having a mental breakdown, anything happens to Deluca after he left that hospital is their faults. He was clearly unstable and not in a good place and just let him leave. SMH
Sure they couldn't let him have the melt down in front of everyone, because that would cause confusion with patients and the hospital, but were the threats necessary?
As for the situation as a whole I think they're dragging this out too long, let my boy Deluca get some help so he can go back to being the kick ass surgeon he used to be. Mental health doesn't have to ruin someone's career and credibility. I don't see why they had to make the aunt actually be dangerous because if Deluca finds out he was right, he'll avoid help as much as possible and he really does need help, they should have just ended it there and let him get some help .
But now it's looking like they're going to make him have an accident along with some hospital drama.
As somebody who has manic depression myself, I relate to Deluca a lot here. I had a psychotic breakdown and hallucinations when I was 16, after two weeks of insomnia, and I kept hearing voices of bangs and yells and my family and psychologist told me it was in my head... Few months later, the guy who lived next door leaves his house and we find he hit his wife; I wasn't imagining things.
My point is, people with manic depression are unstable when they are untreared and in the midst of an episode- but nobody should dismiss them without checking what they're saying. I had a psychologist for 6 years and psychiatric pills for more than that, met friends, had jobs and on the verge of finishing an academic degree- and didn't have an episode in years now. I behaved the way Deluca did (and worse) on my darkest years, but I am stronger now and I am grateful I had people who helped me through it.
Deluca is spiralling because he isn't admitting the problem he has, which is a natural phase I also had. I also think both Karina and Meredith could be more supportive and gentle with him than they were (when multiple people approach you saying you have a mental disability, you're not going to see this as supportive even if they're trying to help). Deluca was RIGHT about his gut feeling, but the WAY he acted- manic, breaking the rules, impatient- is the reason that happened.
I am REALLY hoping we will see that patient again and she will be free, and also I hope Deluca gets the help he needs, with Mer by his side. I don't know if I want them to be endgame, but I think their relationship deserves more time before they jump on another new coupling.
This breaks my heart. I had tears in my eyes. Don't know how people must feel when they break down like this and don't see their own mental illness.
*~DK~* he may seem manic but he was actually right that lady was trafficking her
he is no ill he is such heartbroken cause NO ONE BELIEVES HIM....that must be the worst thing in the world. All his comrades and superiors thought he was having a maniac attack. He actually was the smartest one there, he could have save that girl
aww 💔💔 I haven't watched this ep yet but it's hard to be "sane" when everyone thinks ur not.
What’s sad about this is that he was right and every just assumes he’s imagining it because they believe he has bipolar - which isn’t diagnosed, btw, so they don’t know shit - and it’s crazy to me.
When the aunt dragged her out with no surgery and demanding answers, I just knew DeLuca had hit the nail on the head. Actually, I had a feeling he was right when he told the nurse about the aunt answering all the questions.
It almost seems like they are setting up for him to commit suicide and it’s saddening
the actor that plays deluca did incredible with this but also so did the actress who plays carina. seeing her breaking down in the back was so heartbreaking
And look it turns out he was right.
What a chilling episode it’s his sisters fault for even bringing up their dad’s condition and making everyone think he’s crazy but he did act a little off the wall and ended up being right
rest in peace, andrew deluca
They should've continued the storyline of the trafficking to the last episode.
This was such a heartbreaking scene especially knowing he was right
Giacomo Gianniotti is such a great actor... and Carina... this whole scene broke my heart... but I hope they save that little girl because he was right.
this is such a sad storyline. mania is such a scary thing that nobody really knows all the details about. i hope they follow up on this, because he was right.
also, giacomo gianniotti was so amazing in this scene. it was incredible.
Deluca was not crazy. He was telling the truth. Bailey drop the ball on this one. Meredith lied to Deluca she is not in love with him. She is playing him to get the so call help that he needs. He is a good doctor but trying to hard to please everyone. I hope he not leaving the show. 🤨
I STUPID CRIED seeing this man in pain breaks my heart, for one of the strongest characters to break like this AND HE WAS RIGHT
he’s turning into his father. watching this character spiral is one of the hardest things. why greys.
sara huelskamp You hit the nail on the head. Medical experts say mental illness can be hereditary. This has been building up with him for awhile. He didn’t want to hear that he was beginning to exhibit signs that his father had showed. Not sleeping, extremely hyper, etc. I think his father had performed multiple surgeries in a short time, without proper rest & some of the patients died. He had showed up at Grey’s doing research, I believe, and wound up leaving due to a reoccurrence, if memory serves me right.
I hope this isn’t building up to him leaving the show. His acting was phenomenal in this episode. I truly hope the Greys “family” rallies around him & give him whatever kind of support he needs.
If only they would've heard him... or at least, opened a report, investigate the woman, don't let her just leave...
For those who wants to know, Season 16 Episode 18
It’s so sad seeing Deluca like this but I also think seeing carina watch her brother go through something he or she couldn’t really control is sad too
i know it wasnt delusions and tht Deluca was actually right about the situation but i cant tell you how much ive bawled my eyes during this scene. My father suffered from mania and i tell you his episodes were often just like this, it really brought me back. This scene is so emotional and Giacomo did such a great job. It really breaks my heart to see Deluca like this 💔
It really breaks my heart to see Andrew break down like that and Carina being terrified of losing her brother
Even though I've been really irritated with him lately, seeing Deluca break down tore my heart in two..
We demand a follow up to this storyline. Human trafficking is a topic that needs to be talked and shown.
The acting in this scene was Great. Good job Giacomo
what is the season and episode?
Season 16 episode 18
I demand we hear about this girl again before this show ends!!!
I still think it’s so crazy that everyone did that too to look at but anytime anyone else of the characters had an issue or they thought that was something was going on. They were always on their side.
rip Deluca you were an awesome Character
The fact the he was right makes this hurt so much more now :(
Watching Carina’s heart break seeing her brother like this was just so sad.
What season and episode is this bc I remember watching it but now I'm looking for it and I have no Clue what season and episode it is. Can someone please tell me??
1:20 "Nooo. We need to save her." 💔
and yet he was always right. i was so furious discovering he had died for nothing. if only they had listened to him. deluca was not crazy. deluca was mistreated.
He didn't show any signs of mania and because of family history he is treated unfairly. I would sue my work place if it was me.
Ditto!
I still think he needs help because he’s not fine, he’s hyper, not sleeping much, aggressive at times . He’s starting to act like his father. He’s still a great doctor who made some unbelievable diagnoses but you can’t say that he’s fine or that there’s nothing wrong with him
Can somebody update me on what happened in the episode?
Watching his sister breakdown is where I lost it
What pisses me off more than anything is that they never addressed the characters disbelieving DeLuca which led to his murder. They were all directly responsible for DeLuca's murder by dismissing him.
if only they had listened 😭💔
