Miles once called Weather Report “cultural scavengers” ,great short story writers , and unbelievable poets. I have seen Miles in a club in New stand on a table paying homage to a different version of this Band. This performance is magnificent and strains credulity.
Awesome music, awesome performance footage. Respect and RIP to Victor Bailey (bass guitar), and Weather Report co-founders Joe Zawinul (keyboards), and Wayne Shorter (saxophones). Thanks for posting.
@@RickWhitney-kr2qk Yes, this horrible genetic disease finally took his life in 2016. But he had such good and productive life. He also left his legacy for all of us bass player. Big respect.

Jaco and Hakim would not have worked. Jaco needed a subservient drummer like Erskine. Jaco dominated the sound too much and was boring and predictable after a while. He was brilliant on arrival in 1976 and never got any better. In fact he regressed.

if you want to know why Weather Report was considered the best Jazz band ever, all you have to do is LISTEN to this performance!!
Victor Bailey plays incredible ...
Yes and it it very sad to hear what happened to him

Magnifico, uno de los mejores Weather Report.
Guineous ..with the best players …pinnacle of modern music,
Victor Bailey was the natural substitute of Pastorius...no doubt...
Concierto en Tokio, creo recordar. Felicidades por el sonido, porque suena mejor que el video original.
Hakim bloody enjoyable control
