One of the reasons why I like this show is because Zilla Jr clearly cares deeply for humanity and will protect it to his last breath unlike Godzilla who only cares about the planet rather then what's on it (well unless it's the Showa Godzilla)

This show made more honor to Godzilla than the Hannah Barbera cartoon. This is what Godzilla 1998 should have been but I get that it would have been really expensive. I'm excited to see Rodan, Ghidorah and Mothra in the next Godzilla movie!

Godzilla 2014 was a thousand times better than the 1998 version because it built an atmosphere, had more established characters (even Godzilla was) and was actually loyal to the true spirit of the japanese movies. Also, Godzilla has always been fat and bulky but that's a normal characteristic of large animals including whales, Elephants, and Sauropod dinosaurs "Fat" Zilla was a million times more intimidating and powerful than "Zilla" and actually ressurrected Godzilla for the mainstream audiences, recieving positive reaction from critics and earning two sequels, things that the 1998 film failed to do even if it was a box office hit.

I know 1998's Godzilla design was more realistic, I'm a dinosaur enthusiast and I'm particularly intetested in theropod dinosaurs, and based on everything I know about theropod and sauropod dinosaurs I can say that tristar's beast is not realistic at all, a 20 stories tall speedster is actually less realistic than a 50 stories tall walking tank, basically all large animals need fatter bones and larger muscles to even stand so it makes sense that a creature that large would be really slow and fat as opposed to the 1998 design. So, you are saying that because they are similar in color, Godzilla 2014 is the same design as Tristar's just fatter? In fact, it is quite different in basically everything, the scutes in the 1998 design are actually more like railroad spikes (rounded and not flat) while the scutes in the 2014 design are sharper and flatter and resemble Stegosaurus' spikes. The legs are more like elephant/crocodile/sauropod legs rather than theropod like legs. The arms are shorter and have different positioning. The tail is shorter and bulkier and the neck is much thicker. The important thing is that realism doesn't matter when talking about Godzilla. Godzilla shouldn't be realistic, he should be badass. PD: Godzilla 2014 showed less monster but, when they showed him, it was awesome. Like Jaws or Alien did.

You seriously cannot compare a 14.5-15 meter long 7-8 tonne creature with two 200 m long 6000-90000 ton creatures that eat radiation for breakfast. Don't claim the original Godzilla had a shitty story when the 1998 film has basically the same story with a different Godzilla, the acting surprisingly is not much better than your average Godzilla movie, also, the monster is even weaker and runs away from missiles.

Now, imagine that thing trying to run, that's how unrealistic Zilla is. Honestly, the failure of the movie had nothing to do with Zilla's design. It was that they tried to pass it off as Godzilla, and also the writing/acting was terrible, but Zilla was a great monster. However, he's not Godzilla. I think that if they had just made a monster movie, with Zilla, and called it something else, and gave it better writers, actors, etc. it could have been amazing.

@LeonDXify OK, here's how it goes. Japanese GODzilla is where it all began. He was the unstoppable force that never did anything it didn't want to do. But yeah, it looked like a guy in a rubber suit. American ZILLA looked cool, but was quite pathetic by comparison. Give him enough fish, and he's your pet. This is Zilla's son. He is a combination of the best features of both Zilla and Godzilla. Zilla's cool design and Godzilla unstoppable strength. Awesome combination, no?
Supposed to be about a giant bee called the queen bitch. Interestingly enough, they had Junior take on a giant bee hive on I believe one of the Pacific Islands, which were mutants like his mother was. (Refer to Zilla as female for laying eggs)

Kaiju Daikaiju Zilla Jr never know Komodithrax coupled with a companion she just wanted to keep her egg a male who could defend his mate when she incubates the egg and Zilla Jr is a male.
The entire series DVD is like $10 on Amazon, if you like kaiju stuff at all it's totally worth it. All the characters that return from the 98 movie take about 10 levels in badass, Zilla Jr is honestly awesome, and generally it feels more like a Toho Godzilla movie than the 98 film. Highly recommended if you're a Goji fan.

druddigon in the comics Zilla fought Gojira to a near stand still in his first appearance. Then he comes back for the finale and kills three powered up Kaiju clones with virtually no effort. One of them being a stronger clone of Gojira

there is no alternate ending. what happens is king kong walks away and Godzilla swims away. and king kong was actually suppose to be Frankenstein but they scrapped the idea and put king kong in because of his success in America. just so we all know in the movie king kong beats Godzilla but if you actually put American king kong vs Godzilla, Godzilla wins hands down

It was just as much a victim of the nuclear bomb as the people were, and I really felt sorry for both Godzilla AND Zilla to die at the end of their first movies. Godzilla's role changed throughout the franchise, where he was a monster, a protector and an anti hero, which I like him the most. Mostly he's presented as a force of nature. Depending on the incarnation, Zilla and Godzilla aren't that different actually.

I never watched the old movies so for me "Zilla Jr" will always be Godzilla
This zilla may be zilla but the series was so good it earned the rank of Godzilla. The movie is zilla, you know the one I'm talking about.

@LeonDXify OK, here's how it goes. Japanese GODzilla is where it all began. He was the unstoppable force that never did anything it didn't want to do. But yeah, it looked like a guy in a rubber suit. American ZILLA looked cool, but was quite pathetic by comparison. Give him enough fish, and he's your pet.
This is Zilla's son. He is a combination of the best features of both Zilla and Godzilla. Zilla's cool design and Godzilla unstoppable strength. Awesome combination, no?

Supposed to be about a giant bee called the queen bitch. Interestingly enough, they had Junior take on a giant bee hive on I believe one of the Pacific Islands, which were mutants like his mother was. (Refer to Zilla as female for laying eggs)

Godzilla 1998 is a remake of Godzilla, not a sequel. It's not part of the classic Godzilla continuity.

The entire series DVD is like $10 on Amazon, if you like kaiju stuff at all it's totally worth it. All the characters that return from the 98 movie take about 10 levels in badass, Zilla Jr is honestly awesome, and generally it feels more like a Toho Godzilla movie than the 98 film. Highly recommended if you're a Goji fan.

I can't believe a good series like this was cancelled so early and a mediocre anime like pokemon still made it so far (I am only talking about the anime not the video games)

there is no alternate ending. what happens is king kong walks away and Godzilla swims away. and king kong was actually suppose to be Frankenstein but they scrapped the idea and put king kong in because of his success in America. just so we all know in the movie king kong beats Godzilla but if you actually put American king kong vs Godzilla, Godzilla wins hands down
Oh no im not going to argue about that, i know there is no alternate ending, and its pretty obvious how King Kong vs Godzilla was made for american audiences, i mean even King Kongs name comes first... and yeah Godzilla has the brains of a cat in that film. But universal did try and focus more on King Kong for popularitys sake in the west. But my guess is that it was an intentional deal. But that didnt mean Godzilla was in fact defeated in that sense, he didnt die, there was no explanation to it
I bet most people who are hating Zilla Jr just hate him because he's related to the movie. Sure the movie was bad. But the series was a lot better and Zilla Jr is not like his father. Sure, Godzilla will destroy zilla easily but come on. You don't hate Batman just because Bane broke his back, do you? If you don't like him okay, everyone has his own opinion, but coming here just to say how much you hate Zilla is stupid.
Elguason Nosaugle Actually the original Godzilla was ALSO just an animal first, which was minding it's own business, while the people where just ants for him too. It was just as much a victim of the nuclear bomb as the people were, and I really felt sorry for both Godzilla AND Zilla to die at the end of their first movies. Godzilla's role changed throughout the franchise, where he was a monster, a protector and an anti hero, which I like him the most. Mostly he's presented as a force of nature. Depending on the incarnation, Zilla and Godzilla aren't that different actually.
Elguason Nosaugle You misinterpreted the frase "not so different". It does not mean "exactly the same". Zilla is still different enough to be NOT Godzilla. Yes, Zilla Jr actually DOES earn the name more than his parent does, but the majority is looking at the movie version, which is just pathetic compared to most Kaiju's. And Zilla Jr is not part of the Godzilla species, but the Zilla species, even if he does the Godzilla name more justice than his parent. But the name would still be misleading. It's just not the same monster.
