On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

What I like best about the F-15J is how it can transform into a humanoid robot shape with a big gun. That's how they fight aliens and kaiju.
But Starscream wasn't in this fight.
I used to watch Robotech as a kid back in the 80's. Same concept, only with F-14's that transformed from jets into half jet-half robot and then to full robots depending on if they needed the speed of the jet, the super maneuverability of the half jet-half robot, or the punching and fighting ability of the big robot.
I also like the feature where it can rapidly disassembles into a dragon

I thought he was gonna die being that high that close. And he still defeated the pl-15. Good stuff he could’ve fooled me.
Also RWR was going off the second GF fired his last missle and I thought, no buddy, you're not going to dodge that.

That F-15 pilot was extremely aggressive. Being up that high that close, although it paid off by increasing his probability of kill, whilst being able to decoy your missile. Great flying from both!
I'm half-Japanese and currently in Sapporo, obviously rooting for the Japanese Eagle.
And for several months now, a daily Growling Sidewinder video is a fixture during breakfast before prepping for work. And if its not too much to ask, can you possibly do an F-2 video, that plane with the F16 DNA, against any plane, that includes the Viper, I know how much you love the plane.

I can just never bring myself to root against an F-15...
She's a beautiful and strong plane, hard to not at least respect it.
F15 is nice fer sure. But a dozen Su27's from Wish called Jb11's will still be an issue.
The flankers are badass birds but the 15 will always be my favorite. I sometimes find myself not wanting to "like" a video when the 15 loses lol. But I always like GS content.
The F15 is the world's largest distributor of MiG & SU and lookalike debr... parts!
That first Eagle pilot probably died regardless of ejecting early. Ejecting at supersonic speed is a hazard all to itself. Trying to backstroke home in the Sea of Japan with broken arms, legs, and neck doesn't sound fun either.
I definitely imagine that Japan has some sort of ejection detection system. So like when the ejection is triggered, a signal goes out, for rescue.

This may be a bit outside you field of expertise. But a match between the F6 Hellcat, and the F4U corsair would be an interesting theoretical contest.
At same skill level I'd bet on the Corsair
Honestly the F-6F gets real fast real quick, smaller and more manouverable compared to the F-4U corsair, I might have to try this out in il-2 sturmovik 1946 BAT mod. Will be interesting as both aircraft were very good for their time!
Do any of those exist in dcs as mods?
Maybe an OV-10A Bronco vs an O-2A Skymaster FAC-off?
@@Pikilloification Corsair usually played the roll of energy fighter, The Hellcat could do both energy and dogfight against the Corsair. But speed and climb rate would factor in heavily.
Both fighters are U.S. Navy, both have 6 .50s and Pratt&Witney R2800s.

do i understand it correctly that the flanker's hud shows you the speed and altitude of the bandit? but i can't see where it shows you the distance to him. can you make a video explaining these details for different planes and maybe make a comparison of whose approach to data displays is more comfortable for a pilot? like you did with RWR, which seems like RU style is easier to understand and more informative. thanks

Good old days.
Still remember back when Chuck Yeager made a dog fight challenge with his F15 to any pilot in a newer aircraft and none would accepted that challenge. At that time he had more hours of flight time in the F15 than anyone on the planet. Even said it was his favorite aircraft. Then many years later when he became too old to fly anymore, the air force gave him one last ride in the F15. That great video is also on youtube.

GS, what missile would you rather have strapped to your jet, Meteor, PL-15, or AMRAAM D?
I'm no growling sidewinder, but I would take the Meteor. The AMRAAM has the best seeker but has the worst kinematic performance, Pl-15 has the best kinematic performance, but probably the worst seeker, so Meteor is a good compromise

@@staffsgtamous AMRAAMs are better at medium range as their energy at that moment is higher than a Meteor. But for long distance Meteor is just better as it keeps so much energy until the last leg.

LOL.. every time I see the J-11 I find myself wondering if their quality is better than their aircraft carriers that were supposed to be scary but ended up being garbage. You can have all the technology in the world, if you don't have the funds and raw materials, it won't do you any good.
