I was watching a several of your videos today and about half way through this video I realized you were fishing a lake that’s only about 45 minutes from where I live. Never tried for musky but apparently I need to try! Awesome video
Awesome video! To hear Lee say he likes early season is a joy for us all. Keep catching fish. Fans know the big ones will be there. This summer I plan to take my grandkids Muskie fishing for the first time. They are good fishermen at 10 and 12 for smaller fish. To make it easier on me I plan on having them use "heavier" spinning gear and will show them this video for its educational value. Thanks for providing what they need. Grandpa can't wait! Let the adventure begin - soon!
Musky season is still closed here in Ottawa Canada, but did catch a small one like Robbie's while walleye fishing last night on a jig and pink worm. Great to see the early bit is on for you guys.
Dudes!!! We’ve been going there the last 6 years!! Normally hit that early spring bite I’m guessing same time you went there. This year we went 3rd weekend in May had that post spawn 64 degree water and got skunked. Loved this video!! See ya around 😎👍🏼
A year or so back my son caught a muskey about the same size as the first one. You would have thought that thing was 10ft long. He went nuts, it’s one of my favorite memories of fishing with him. We were bass fishing in a small lake and didn’t even realize they were there.
I caught my first Muskie ever this week, 25inches, I wasn't even fishing for them but it was a great fight so now I have been binge watching your channel trying to learn more about them. I'm hooked now, just trying to figure out how to get the wife to let me buy more gear.
That's generally how it starts. I wanted to be bass pro when I was a kid. Then I fell in love with pike and forgot about the bass career. I knew about Musky and really wanted to fish them but I didn't think I had access. A legitimate St Clair boat wasn't in my future. I randomly caught a Musky in a little river and the obsession was on. Thousands of dollars, a ton of research, a few boat upgrades and about 30 total fish later I'm more obsessed then ever.
Saw quite a few porpoising this weekend and had one on for a few seconds, but twasn't meant to be. Started the morning fishing in May snow and 20mph winds here in PA. I was creek fishing for prespawners.
I always keep a saw in my truck so that tree would have been easily cut and moved. I've been out fishing everyday and man have I been catching the big trout. I need to get out and try for muskie soon.
I had a 40+ Muskie take a swipe at a bluegill chatterbait close to the boat launch on this lake. Only a few feet away from shore when it was flooded. I was smart and did a turn and he swiped again and took the tail right off. That got the blood pumping. 😃
I'll make you feel better, Lee, about that first missed bite on the sucker. It wasn't a muskie you missed but a little snot rocket pike. Both of you guys got your muskie mojo working now.
G'day guys awesome job boys, I have not been fishing for 40 day now! Here in Victoria Australia we can not fish or hunt, I'm going crazy I need to fish for my PTSD. I no it's dumb but fishing is what I do to help me, but anyway great job guys it looks like you guys might have a awesome, Musky season ahead of you good luck stay safe all the best take care.
Love the Vids guys keep er coming! I got a 46" pig on opening day on a 10" jake can't figure out how to share a pic?.. where were you guys in this one?
Didnt gey out until 1pm. Lost one rignt away before the clouds moved in. It tried to take a custom bucktail just under the surface in 2' of water. Fish beds where empty. I figures it was because of a musky near by. Fished the rest of the day and covered more area i have ever in one day. No signs of fish after 2pm till dark. Water temps not over 52° yet. But they spawned atleast two weeks ago on the river. Spoke with many people and luck was down.
Question about the GoPro set up... how do you protect the battery and micro sd card from water / weather? The hero black 8 doesn’t have a way to have a power cord without exposing all the internal “guts” is it like a waterproof putty or something?
Great stuff, I'm living vicariously thru you guys and TH-cam until my boat gets out of the shop. Robbie, it was great to see you catch that musky on the "light" Shimano setup. Would the 7'1" MH work as well as your Med for the lighter lures? I have a Stradic CI4+ for bass/pike and never thought about using it for Musky. What is the biggest Musky you think that setup can handle? Finally, I'm a little disappointed that so many of the Shum Shum Regulars (7.5") are still out of stock at Chaos Tackle, hopefully they get more in soon.
@@TodaysAngler Okay great, thanks for confirming because the link said Medium and the pull down menu had numerous options so I wasn't sure. What size Musky do you think that setup can handle?
I’m a big fan of downsizing baits early in the season but I also tend to alternate my leader and go fluorocarbon. I think the flexibility of fluorocarbon and the clarity of them make them very desirable in early season, shallow/clear water fishing and allows me to present my artificials at the utmost level. What are your guys thoughts on fluorocarbon leaders?
They stocked musky in a local lake here in Idaho for the first time last year, I am going to get me some metal leaders and give it a try! Use some of my big swimbait bass gear!
I’m still waiting for a signed lure from you guys , if you have an old lure that you don’t use any more if you could sign one side and Robbie the other , it will never be used , I have little stands to put it on , just an old lure that you don’t use no more , my Adress is still the same . Salyersville ky. Box 1683 zip - 41465 , love watching you guys . Be safe and God Bless 🙏🙏🙏
PLEASE TO EVRY FISHERMANN PAY ATTENTION ON THE ANATOMY OF THE PIKES OR MUSKYS, IF YOU RELEASE THEM LIKE IN 4:38MIN. YOU WILL HURT THE FISH, CAUSE them PAIN AND THEY WILL GET LONGTERM INFECTIONS OR MAJOR PROBLEMS OF THEIR MOUTH. SO PLEASE CHECK BEFORE YOU RELEASE THEM.
love this video... Im from Europe so we fish for Northern pike, zander and yellow perch. 2 more weeks for the starting season. Fingers crossed! My instagram is icperch if youre interested in my experience in the Netherlands. Keep it up!
Can you do anything different to get a hook up on those sucker fish you keep loosing? And whats with the all the gangster beats? Is that actually the stuff you guys listen to or is it just for the videos?
i think this channel is so underrated these videos and the quality of the videos is crazy for the subs and views the get keep up the good work

Awesome video of Lee's musky jumping in and out of the net. Your videos are just cool and we'll made!
🙏
Great videos guys. This spring I found your channel when I decided to try and catch my 1st muskie. Very informative and entertaining. Thanks
Glad you like

Great day on the water, I fished that lake a few years ago, great body of water. I hope to get out in the next week or 2.
You guys need to come fish mead lake thorp Wisconsin there are absolute huge muskie in there
REALLY liking the vid editing style on this. The vid itself is as interesting as the action and rig descriptions. Nice work, fellas.
Very kind

i recently saw a nice tiger muskie while i was fishing. He was just swimming in the shallows and then turned around. It was a really cool experience.
Missed one yesterday first time out this year. Getting ready for the northern opener in green bay. Great vid guys keep up the great work.
That Husky jerk *had* a center treble hook, yes? Did you upsize the hooks?
I always keep a saw in my truck so that tree would have been easily cut and moved. I've been out fishing everyday and man have I been catching the big trout. I need to get out and try for muskie soon.
They say that the muskie is the fish of a thousand casts, and here you are catching them like no tomorrow.
Love how they liked all the comments.
We care what you say and try to answer your questions.
What knot do you guys use to attach to your leader?

No way you were in my hometown fishing!
Dwayne Wade give that Dive a 9/10 lol 😂😂😂
Got a couple the one time I was out this year. 32 and a 40 lake has been decent around here in nwpa lots of fish caught already
Cool
Love the video👍👍
I wish you did a LIVE Stream on your Musky trips. I know logistically it might be difficult, but would sub for sure!
Would love to know what lake that is. Been trying for a while to find a more unpopulated lake in southern WI
You should try Governor Dodge State Park (Twin Valley Lake).

Secret spot 😉lol
Way to start the season strong boys ! No struggle here ! Have you guys ever fished the Buffalo harbor or upper niagara river ? Just curious.
We haven't
Beautiful amazing video and fish! That 4th musky was a stocked fish? I noticed the fin was clipped? Keep up the great work guys!!! 👍
They completed their study last spring on age structure and population. Probably from that.
Area of lake? County?

Thanks for the response.
Is there a full version of the intro song?
Wicked ways
In 2 days 2 weeks ago I had but 1 follow.but it was on a new bait made by a local lure maker out of marathon,ny.
Where can I get those leaders you run? And line we’re you running on the spinning rod. I usually run a spinning rod for Muskie
Spinning rod leader or musky rod?
Todays Angler spinning rod
Still nothing caught for me I'm trying though I did get a good tip about rubber have to try that next time I get out.
Great video! Making it happen 💥 Little mistake @ 2:57 you released the fish with the jaw inside out, the top lip needs to come out from the mouth

Was that last one a stocked fish looks like one of the back fins was clipped
All 100% stocking in this lake. May have been last fall stocked.
How dp you guys like that assault stick 2020? Its telescopic right?
Hard to go back to the Green Rods...🤷♂️
Great job! Mine has been muuch slower!
How deep are you fishing for spring musky
Depends on the lake, generally 2-8 fow.
You guys need to add a hacksaw or an axe to your "tackle box", lol.
Awesome
I’ve been fishing lake monona and no luck. Where was this little lake?
Do a little research 😉

As long as they are 80lb or more.
Caught my first musky on same jerkbait only smaller
Hey I picked up a rod from you guys just last year and it dropped on the floor. Do I have to be worried abt it breaking on the next strike?
Probably not. Either hitting rods together casting and the side of the boat is about the worst.
Been out 3 times haven’t gotten a bite really cold water here still tho
Had one follow from a tiger but they are not in season so it was unfortunate.
Still 4 week wait for us here up north :(
Bummer
Where were you guys fishing?
Awesome vid keep it up 👍
Xander Schoville if the time of the vid and ur comment is correct you weren’t even able to watch the whole video yet
