Never understood why Universal Studios hasn't made a Dark Universe attraction. Something like Tales from the Crypt w/scenes & characters from episodes of the show would've been amazing.
Yeah, when I meant "Dark Ride" I should've clarified "dark" as in "The Haunted Mansion", "PotC". "Snow White's Scary Adventures" or "Mr Toad's Wild Ride", as well as indoors. I don't remember ever hearing about an Indiana Jones dark ride in Universal, CA.
Yes you're correct. There are no "Dark Rides" in Universal. The closest thing I know of is the Walking Dead attraction in CA but that's a "Walk Through"
It's a classic. I've been going there since I was a young child in the mid 90's . Many things have been changed but it still has alot of its original attractions
The old lady was supposed to spin around. I guess she’s not on or something. This is very very different from what I had seen before, but at least they cleaned things up a bit so it’s not as grimey.
it’s honestly disappointing what they’ve done to the ride. They’ve put all this high tech jumpy jumpy uh-oh spooked ya stuff in there. It used to be clever gags but now it’s almost just that, and you can barely see anymore.
Reminds me of the local Amusement Park we used to go to when I was little. Love the "old school" fun stuff! Gives you that thrill you can only feel as a kid , or as a BIG kid! Lol! :) Thanks Carpetbagger!
We used to have an old school haunted house that you walked through on our pier. Half cheesy scares, half live actors. You completed your rite-of-passage when you could go through it and not come out sobbing. When my parents had been kids, they even had a separate haunted boat ride. I never got a chance to go through it because some miserable person decided it would be funny to light it on fire in the middle of fall. Luckily it was off season and the ride was closed... but that was upsetting. You don't really see your town united in misery often but this was one of them. That hurt to lose.
Jamie are you talking about Dracula's castle in Wildwood NJ? Sounds just like it and if so a legendary dark ride. Still sad what happened and that it's not there anymore, along with so many other old school rides that were dismantled over the years. TY.
Jamie If you’re talking about the haunted house with live actors that was on one of the Wildwood New Jersey piers, I remember going through that as a kid back in the mid-1970s. I remember the one scene being a bedroom that was fully furnished but everything was covered with rats. Most of the rats were fake but I remember they had several live ones in there as well in order to give it realism. I also remember there being a hallway or a room with a black and white checkerboard pattern with a flashing strobe light. Of course, my favorite was the Whacky Shack on Hunt’s Pier. And the Golden Nugget mine ride! Those rides got me hooked on haunted houses, and the Golden Nugget Mine ride is probably what turned me into an abandoned mine explorer. If you don’t believe me, check out my TH-cam channel - it’s all about me exploring abandoned mines!
I can almost feel how special this ride must be for many people. It reminds me a lot of the House of Horrors (formerly the Castle of Terror) at Rocky Point in Rhode Island, which shut down in the 90's. Maybe not as elaborate for back then, but It also had the same lady sawed in half prop among others by the most legendary dark ride designer ever, Bill Tracy. Always happy to see vintage dark rides still up and running, and hope they are preserved for years to come.
Truly a piece of amusement history. One of the best vacations my family and I have ever took together. I remember my 3 daughters in a car going into the dark ride with the look of terror on their faces...they loved this ride and now that they are older often talk about this vacation to Ocean City. Life is about memories and most importantly family...
Wow! That was amazing! It was so perfectly creepy, and didn't have too many scares, but enough to make you totally on edge the whole time! So classic and awesome.
Awesome! I live here in OC and literally go to this ride and the boardwalk like its a neighborhood park. I feel incredibly lucky and grateful for my hometown to have such amazing historical experiences
I actually searched out whether or not you had made it over to Ocean City. This is my most favorite Dark Ride I have ever been on. When I got to go to the beach for the first time almost 20 years ago, my dad and I rode this together. We went back about two years ago, and everything is still the same for the most part. Love seeing Trimpers!
There used to be one on the pier (looked like a real house) called Morbid Manor......was totally awesome.....this was a walk thru one and was the best ......the ride thru one was the second best.....💕❤️🖤
JPVideos ....The original was a walk thru....and half that size. Did they turn it into an actual cart ride? Wow, I watched your video of it, they really ruined it. I went in with my dad but got so freaked out and separated from my dad that I walked out of there with some stranger when I was little, scared the bejebees outta me, lol. Mind you when I went it was like 37 years ago 🤦🏼♀️😆
The original was on the end of the pier it was a permanent building that you walked through. There were people in costume roaming the crowds scaring people and inside the building. It burned down in the 90's. The "ride" that is there now should not even be called Morbid Manor. Nothing like the real thing, it was terrifying. www.secretsoftheeasternshore.com/memories-of-morbid-manor/
Like the others said the original Morbid manor was taken down. It was an actual house you walked through. I think when they put up the one that is there now they named it that as an ode to the original. I went through the original in 1989.
"Oh thats not good" I'm rolling! The disorienting nature of it was unique for a dark ride! Twisted tunnel, time tunnel, and an upsidedown room? Super cool!
That was cool! I think that’s one of your best dark ride you’ve been on, didn’t catch where it was though he said it was on the boardwalk Ocean City where is it statewide? Thanks for Shaing! Love the cars!!!🧟♀️🧟🧟♂️🧛♂️🧛🏻♂️🧛🏻🧛🏻🧛🏻♀️🧛🏻♂️🧙🏻♀️ skeletons galore!
That is sad - they didn't have the water turned on that day!!! I'm a life long Baltimoron, we day trip to OC every year. I took my grandson on there for the first time in 2019. Thanks for hitting the best place on the Boardwalk, Hon!
We ride this every year, there's always a bunch of things that are in need of repair. The end usually has a water falling feature. Hokey in a good way, I once went through after they tripped a circuit breaker and the lights were all off, truly scary, especially knowing the ride by heart. They fixed the breaker and I went through again. Not a fan of the modern stuff, but guess they have to try to freshen it up with the flavor of the week... Zombies.
Hey Jacob, hope you get to check out the Funland haunted house in Rehoboth beach i told you about during your live stream. Btw, what camera did you film this with?
The videos don't do these enough justice! There was something about being in the car and being unable to control your movements that made the haunts so much freakier when I was a kid.
So glad you found another treasure of OC and from your videos I can tell your enjoying your trip there. Spent many summers in OC from my teen years to young adult. I've now had the opportunity of going a few times with my little ones.
I went to high school with a couple Trimper's. The vampire out front looked better in the 90's when I worked there for a summer. What a blast from the past. Trimpers does have one of the nicest, oldest Carousels and calliopes I have ever seen!
I recognized this the second I saw the thumbnail. Ocean City is my favorite place in the world and I know it better than my hometown. Seriously crying a little just watching this. 💜😢
Very cool to see these things on your channel. I went through there back in 2009 and I remember it being pretty different. I love Ocean City for the old time vibe and vintage feel. I hope to get back down there one day.
Was here a couple days ago, fell in love with this ride. Its a truly awesome attraction, and some of Bill Tracy’s most classic stunts are showcased inside. Not really a fan of the modern updates but I understand why they did them. Hope they can preserve the old stunts currently inside for a long time
I remember going on that ride when I was in elementary school. Some of the things inside have changed but some still look the same. I loved that ride and still do
Looks like fun! I always loved those old style carny haunted houses. They make me feel like I'm in a Scooby Doo cartoon. 😋👍 Maryland has some pretty cool places to visit. I should check this one out someday.
I used to love that ride and Morbid Manor when I was a kid back in the late 70's, early 80's. I'm glad it's still there after all these years. I was really saddened when I found out Morbid Manor burned down. I'd go through both places at least once every summer.
Not knowing if the train is still coming is far scarier. Leaving the spot light on for like 4 seconds just feels like it was like Boooo you will be scared now boooo. I always feel these dark rides are really well put together but they could be terrifying nightmare fuel with some different setups like scenes that seem to real and exploitation of fears instead of black lit glowing monster bats and jump scare air puffs and whistles.
Wow!....Seems just the other day the Carpetbagger was at 80 something K....now on the way to 200k. I love it when you go to haunted spooky places Carpetbagger. Whether real or fake. I kinda like it when these haunt rides are cheesy and cheap....adds something, nostalgia like to it.
omg I live close to that and I went into the ride with someone a few years ago, lmao I couldnt keep my eyes open thanks for going through and being my eyes lmao XD
I remember West View Park had a 2 story Bill Tracy haunted house. It had a bat on the facade on the top floor. I read they sold props and track to a park in Geneva Ohio. It closed down and someone said Conneaut Lake Park has it in storage. I know the saw and the stretching rack at O.C. was the same as the one at West Views Park.
There used to be an amusement park called Edgewater Park in Detroit, they had a dark ride who's theme was supposed to be astronauts getting attacked on the moon by zombie aliens. It was a bunch of paintings that were blacklighted, the really scary thing about the ride however is that kids would habitually jump out of the car they were riding in and then try to jump into another car that had a single rider. It used to drive the ride operators nuts because they'd have to keep stopping the ride to chase the kids out. The idiots ran the risk of hitting the conduit rail and getting electrocuted.
I was at the OC Boardwalk in late May 2017, before memorial day, so still technically the off season. The haunted house was closed every time I went to the boardwalk!! Such a disappointment! Thanks for showing me what I missed!!
If you're ever by the shoreline of Jersey, Hollowgraves Manor in Keansburg is fun. Supposedly, they're still restoring the classic "Spookhouse" ride from the '30s as well! They're done for this season though.
I live in VA so I've been there many times but once when I was like 5 i got so scared I hid where feet go and 2 years ago I was going to ride with my sister and I had my eyes closed the whole time
I´ve been going on this ride since I was a kid. It´s a tradition for me and my dad to ride it together. Last time we were on it we decided we were too old because it hurt both of our backs and the seat was too hard.
The bat outside is how the locals know when the season is over or a big storm is coming. They take it down and the shadow of it is on the paint. Which is pretty creepy. I am not sure they have painted behind it in years. Just around it.
I’ve been going to ocean city every year for my entire life to see family. I go to the boardwalk multiple times each trip. I have a phobia of riding in haunted houses, but I had no idea this thing was anything other than some cheap carnie ride that had the scary headless dude in front of it
That dark ride has been there ever since I was a kid. My mom and sister went in there years ago and my mom said it was so corny it wasn’t all that scary.
Never understood why Universal Studios hasn't made a Dark Universe attraction. Something like Tales from the Crypt w/scenes & characters from episodes of the show would've been amazing.
There's actually a few in Florida and CA. Transformers, Spider Man, Harry Potter. Nothing that is haunted themed though.
The closest thing I know of is the Walking Dead attraction in CA but that's a "Walk Through"
Guernicaman the Mummys revenge
I think they believe that the public does not like classic type dark rides. Plus, their "video" rides are easier to maintain.
That was pretty long for a dark ride! I liked all the colors.
No kidding. I have never seen one that big for a local place.
That was amazing ! Dang I love old school dark rides
so true Adam
Woo I watched both of your guys videos of Jacob laying waste to that steak, amazing "i would probably tap out at 63oz's 😂 thank you guys
yep just thinking about it 🤔
Love you adam
I agree with you, Adam the WOO. Dark rides are as cool as haunted houses and mazes.
Definitely one of the longest dark rides I've ever seen.Well put together and I'd love to experience it myself
It's a classic. I've been going there since I was a young child in the mid 90's . Many things have been changed but it still has alot of its original attractions
There seemed to be many references and copies of the late Bill Tracy‘s signature dark ride features in this particular haunted house. So cool!
I thought this was a Bill Tracy
Thats because he made this ride.
Is there any real actors
This is my favorite remaining Bill Tracy ride. They did a decent job of keeping his effects almost completely intact. It's like going back in time
Jacobs jumpiness is prolly the best part....
I've been coming to Ocean City, MD for 34 years and always ride this dark ride. It's become a tradition.
Reminds me of the local Amusement Park we used to go to when I was little. Love the "old school" fun stuff! Gives you that thrill you can only feel as a kid , or as a BIG kid! Lol! :) Thanks Carpetbagger!
Best dark ride in the country. Lots of Bill Tracy originals in this house.
Yup, and combined with his other defunct ride up town.
We used to have an old school haunted house that you walked through on our pier. Half cheesy scares, half live actors. You completed your rite-of-passage when you could go through it and not come out sobbing. When my parents had been kids, they even had a separate haunted boat ride.

My husband and I went through that dark ride 5 years ago when we were at Ocean City and we thought it was pretty friggin' awesome too!👍
This dark ride was pretty awesome and spooky at the same time. Thanks for sharing Jacob. Loved the video ☺☺☺
Bill Tracy was a true genius and pioneer
I can almost feel how special this ride must be for many people. It reminds me a lot of the House of Horrors (formerly the Castle of Terror) at Rocky Point in Rhode Island, which shut down in the 90's. Maybe not as elaborate for back then, but It also had the same lady sawed in half prop among others by the most legendary dark ride designer ever, Bill Tracy. Always happy to see vintage dark rides still up and running, and hope they are preserved for years to come.
Sadly they got rid of Bill Tracy's best props. The new stuff was lousy. It was boring after that.
Truly a piece of amusement history. One of the best vacations my family and I have ever took together. I remember my 3 daughters in a car going into the dark ride with the look of terror on their faces...they loved this ride and now that they are older often talk about this vacation to Ocean City. Loved the video Jacob! I love old dark rides
That’s a longer ride than usual for that type of haunted house
Wow! That was amazing! It was so perfectly creepy, and didn't have too many scares, but enough to make you totally on edge the whole time! So classic and awesome.
Been going on that ride since I was a young lad.
dude Jacob that was funny when that animatronic just jumpscares you.
This is a great ride. I like how the coffin that you sit in moves in different ways.
Awesome! I live here in OC and literally go to this ride and the boardwalk like its a neighborhood park. I feel incredibly lucky and grateful for my hometown to have such amazing historical experiences
Loved this ride, worked at the park in the 90's, went to high school with one of the Trimper family! RIP Chris
Jacob ! You are amazing !!!! Love everything about you and your videos !
Holy crap that was a long one. Great lookin ride! Thanks for the vid Jake😁👍
Another good one, Jacob!
Lmao the screaming XD 👌
Best part of the video!
Right !
Why his wife loves jump scaring him lol
He cracks me UPPPP

There used to be one on the pier (looked like a real house) called Morbid Manor......was totally awesome.....this was a walk thru one and was the best ......the ride thru one was the second best.....💕❤️🖤
Morbid manor is still there on the pier. One of the worst dark rides I've ever ridden. I filmed a video of it when i was there in August.
JPVideos ....The original was a walk thru....and half that size. Did they turn it into an actual cart ride? Wow, I watched your video of it, they really ruined it. @@Strawbbuni they closed it after 2 seasons it seems.
Huge fan of this classic dark ride! Ride it every time I'm in Ocean City.
"Oh thats not good" I'm rolling! The disorienting nature of it was unique for a dark ride! Twisted tunnel, time tunnel, and an upsidedown room? Super cool!
How disorientating! Good thing your in a comfortable coffin

Truly this is the One True King of the Darke Rydes.
That is sad - they didn't have the water turned on that day!!!

"AAAaaah! Something moved!"
Adequate description of every scene in every haunted attraction ever...;)
Hmmmm good point
lol guy reminded me of that dude on family guy lol funy if he had the laugh ha ha ha ha hahlol
“Oh! It’s a toilet!”
Hahahahaha! I don’t recall how much it was, but this was a long ride.
I love your confusion with the toilet 😂
Love old school dark rides, great to see them still operating.
So glad you found another treasure of OC and from your videos I can tell your enjoying your trip there. Spent many summers in OC from my teen years to young adult. I've now had the opportunity of going a few times with my little ones.
I also think at the time it was originally made it was more about the visual than jump scares. They've added a few over the years
I went to high school with a couple Trimper's. The vampire out front looked better in the 90's when I worked there for a summer. What a blast from the past. Trimpers does have one of the nicest, oldest Carousels and calliopes I have ever seen!

That was one of the coolest dark rides I have seen so far. Since we figured out these little roller coasters
I can’t with your screams because you get so scared and then you get over it so quickly LMAOO
Very cool to see these things on your channel. I went through there back in 2009 and I remember it being pretty different. I love Ocean City for the old time vibe and vintage feel. I hope to get back down there one day.
carpetbagger never ceases to impress me
That was really cool! I like that you went up to the second level. So weird!
"ahhhh! Something moved! Something moved!" I never felt anything more relatable.
Great video! You are so much fun! And brave to ride solo! I subbed 👍🏻
Was here a couple days ago, fell in love with this ride. Its a truly awesome attraction, and some of Bill Tracy’s most classic stunts are showcased inside. Not really a fan of the modern updates but I understand why they did them. Hope they can preserve the old stunts currently inside for a long time
Cool ride! Thanks man.
Your commentary is absolutely epic!!😆
classic Bill Tracy design! love it, thanks for the ride!
I'm sorry but when you screamed that was hilarious and I wasn't expecting you to do that so you spooked me more than the ride. 😂
I remember going on that ride when I was in elementary school. Some of the things inside have changed but some still look the same. I loved that ride and still do
I agree Jacob , love the old school neon and dark light ride , please find more rides like this ! Loved it 👍
Yes!!!!!! I’m so excited you got to ride this. Ocean City is amazing!
Looks like fun! I always loved those old style carny haunted houses. They make me feel like I'm in a Scooby Doo cartoon. 😋👍
Maryland has some pretty cool places to visit. I should check this one out someday.
I have walked by this ride a million times but never been on it. I never knew it took you upstairs.
I used to love that ride and Morbid Manor when I was a kid back in the late 70's, early 80's. I'm glad it's still there after all these years. I was really saddened when I found out Morbid Manor burned down. I'd go through both places at least once every summer.
Creepy old school drake ride! Love it!
Your commentary made it that much better! Thank you!
Cool, I'll have to ride that next time I'm at the boardwalk! :0) Thanks Jacob!
Carpetbagger ur the best!! Love ur video keep them coming
Pretty good ride, and longer than I'd have thought. Really impressive theming, usually ghost trains are hokey and cheesy.
Really cool dark ride! You getting jump scared is my favorite... makes me lol every time. Can’t say I wouldn’t do the same though lol 😊
That was a great ride Jacob!
omg I live close to that and I went into the ride with someone a few years ago, lmao I couldnt keep my eyes open thanks for going through and being my eyes lmao XD
I love your channel... keep it up! By the way, the proper past tense of execution by hanging is "hanged." :)
I like these videos because I have autism and don’t like scary things so watching other people do it makes me feel more comfortable.
aww that was pretty good, i like rides that dont turn into roller coaster just a travel through a haunted house all laid back! thankx friend
This is absolutely first class!
Cool vlog channel
I was at the OC Boardwalk in late May 2017, before memorial day, so still technically the off season. The haunted house was closed every time I went to the boardwalk!! Such a disappointment! Thanks for showing me what I missed!!

WOW. Very decent carnival darkride.
I live in VA so I've been there many times but once when I was like 5 i got so scared I hid where feet go and 2 years ago I was going to ride with my sister and I had my eyes closed the whole time
This looks insanely cool! Love the psychedelic effects
Dark rides are the definition of fun
I´ve been going on this ride since I was a kid. It´s a tradition for me and my dad to ride it together. Last time we were on it we decided we were too old because it hurt both of our backs and the seat was too hard.
I would love a ride on that :)
That's a pretty long dark ride at 5 minutes. Nice video, Jacob. Love dark rides.
The bat outside is how the locals know when the season is over or a big storm is coming. They take it down and the shadow of it is on the paint. Which is pretty creepy. I am not sure they have painted behind it in years. Just around it.
X'D it was great to see him get scared! Happy Halloween!
Such a cool ride , I enjoyed the video !!! Love u ♥️
When I saw that mechanic go in, I don’t know why but I was convinced he was going to jump out at you at some point hahaha.
Awesome you came to my state, Maryland!!!!!!! I live in Baltimore
🤔 that door remains.
trips me out.................
