Jake, I'll say it again. The best results I have ever gotten when primarily running contracts, is to always borrow the equipment. You get 90% or so of the original value, with zero expense on your part. No fuel, no maintenance, no depreciation of the equipment. Nothing but upside. And that's if you're still doing the work yourself. Even if you have to pay a worker, you're still coming out ahead.
I love your content btw, please don’t take my first line as a negative criticism or anything like that. It was more of a, “this worked for me, maybe it will work for you” type thing.
Going to court was entirely understandable this time around. Hahahahhaa. I also love the idea of 4 days per month. Maybe you’ll end up increasing the time but I’m stoked to watch it all play out!!
That little cultivator thing got ya lol. I feel your pain. I've been playing on American Falls, and for some reason, harvesting contracts sometimes screw me over. Twice now, I've spent an hour or 2 harvesting a big field for someone, get completely done and it says only 97% completed (give or take). It can be very frustrating lmao. Anyways, I love the content! You and Papa Pickle are a joy to watch. Cheers
probably I would say grow corn and turn it into chaff then make that into silage, its a bit different from the last one where you did boring old grass while giving some complexity to the process. but the way I would go first is keep buying (or leasing) new land until you own big fields and you can turn that into big money
After watching your series I decided to attempt the billion dollar challenge. No mods, no nothing, on hard mode, on Erlengrat. I went with the solar panels and windmill strategy and sleeping the rest of the time. On hard mode you spawn in with 500k and I was able to buy a small property and 3 windmills. Here is my progress below. End of year 1: 5 solar panels (93.5k each) End of year 2: 11 solar panels End of year 3: 18 solar panels End of year 4: 29 solar panels End of year 5: 46 solar panels End of year 6: 70ish panels (I lost track) making about 300k a month End of year 7: more solar panels making 500k a month Year 8 I switch to buying windmills (750k) End of year 8: 8 windmills (plus all solar panels) End of year 9: 34 windmills making 3 million a month End of year 10: 70+ windmills making 7.5 mil a month End of year 11: lost track of windmills making 21 mill a month End of year 12: 60 million a month This took about 4 hours to get to this point. From this point I slept until I had 1 billion dollars. End of year 13: 750 million in the bank In November of year 14 I hit 999,999,999 (aka 1 billion) Whole process took about 4 1/2 hours!
if you want to use GPS more efficently you should only set the tool with of the actual Plow and find an ofset acordingly, because apparently GPS gets confused with the packer
Yes he has the tool width to wide its counting the width of the cultivator as well. It need 0 offset and narrow the path to 1/2 the width he has it set.
I couldnt reccomend coursplay more especialy for doing bales, you can set it on the same course as the rake/harvester and it will bale automaticly. It also will pick up/ wrap bales for you or unload combines. (It does take a little bit of learning)
I know I'm a whole month late to this whole thing (just found your channel), but for the GPS offset problem you were having, I believe the fundamental issue is that it was taking into account the entire width of the tool (plow + packer), when it should be set up to only take into account the plow. Essentially it's treating the whole setup as a plow, but since the packer is designed to go over where you already plowed, it shouldn't be taken into consideration at all; it will simply work as long as the plowing is done right. Therefore, I think it's the Width Increment that should be set to 50% of the total width, which you had set the offset to originally (9.14m I think), and the offset should be half of that measurement (because the plow starts roughly in the middle of your tractor rather than being equal on both left and right like most tools are). Anyway, I'm going to go watch the rest of the series now to see if you ever figured that out and if this comment is useless! :)
When I do contract root crops, I lease the collosus or t4-40 😂. The base game root crop equipment is brutal. Especially on a field larger than a hectare
Agreed. That said, as much as I love the colossus stuff, if you configure it “right” it’s still as painful as the base game stuff. Or it’s so overpowered that it just doesn’t even feel fun anymore. And I’m not certain which is worse. But yeah, for root crops, “cheater” header even at normal width is a life saver just from being able to drive faster.
I have to ask, what minimap mod do you use to show what parts of the field have been sprayed etc? There's next to no visual distinction base game for sunflwoer or corn spraying cotnracts
I unknowingly picked up a massive beet job and regret it so while i work the field i pulled up this video LOL did not know the beginning when I pulled it up.
Honestly, the farm has been so busy in real life that I have not found the time to put it into my schedule. I'm trying to, I still need to explore Nebraska! lol
Man, I've been watching for three episodes and you didn't progress anything. Can you please stop making videos of doing hire contracts only? Love your videos, bye.
No, That’s our business strategy lol there are real farmers who do only that all year long. It’s a completely valid agricultural focused business strategy. If you’re look for fast paced content that isn’t what you’ll find here. We’re about slowing things down and enjoying the moment.
Jake please check out my comment on ep 1 I know it was only a few hours ago but I think it’s a good idea as you have your greenhouse hobby, hope it helps!
i watch these videos and get inspired to play.. i have had the game for like a year now.. and every time i play.. i realize.. how fucking tedious and god damn boring this game can be.. and fucking hard.. like logging.. wtf, why i gotta like control every little part of the machine.. just let me auto it god damn it... harvesting is is a pain.. chickens are tedious.. baling.. that shit was the most god damn slowest bullshit ever hahahaha god damn i hate that shit! hahahaha i think im resigned to just enjoying the game via youtubers like yall! laaawl i still like the game, i guess i just dont like to play it

I agree, which is why we end up having the ai work the contracts while we focused on our own fields.

@@blackmoon8459 do you have any other tips or anything? I just started and have no idea what I’m doing
@@CadenSuttieJust do silage, you cant go wrong with that

With the plow and gps, try halfing the track width with no offset

You could literally see a tiny red part on the top right and centre left of the field where a spot was missed

I've got a question, how do you highlight fields in the minimap like that? On controller if possible?
CoursePlay is a good mod to increase the intelligence of the workers! :)
Could just deliver the corn to the train station, silo it there.
gs might work if you lift the packer then do auto width and offset and then lower packer
I think you should try wheat because you can bale it and make money off the grain🌾
No you cannot bale wheat
I have to ask, what minimap mod do you use to show what parts of the field have been sprayed etc? There's next to no visual distinction base game for sunflwoer or corn spraying cotnracts
That’s the Precision Farming DLC which should be free on the Modhub.
For the offset, run "true track" on your downs, and your backs runs the offset line,... Maybe...
Are thise thumbnails ai generated because they are rly good at showing what you did on the ep like this 1 is a tractor pulling a plow good job jake
What mod is it that makes the used vehicle section bigger?
I unknowingly picked up a massive beet job and regret it so while i work the field i pulled up this video LOL did not know the beginning when I pulled it up.
wouldnt it just be easier to use a 4 meter subsoiler? still counts as plowing, cheap, less hP needed and wider
War Thunder the game that makes me wanna end it all but then I remember the f15 and I start playing again and repeat
I think you don't turn the plow at the end of a row when offset reversal is turned on
Heh. Im pretty sure in our justice system you would be adding that 4k to your lawyers account not yours 😂
is gps a pc only mod?
Farm Sim 25 trailer highlighted rice fields. The trailer was not weird at all, not at all.
Rice would not be much working width. It is going to be time consuming like grapes and olives.
Anytime I watch your videosI just sit here and watch them.
You can invert your offfset.
are u still trying to buy the map?
Yes
You need the lizard 6M plow.
day 34 of saying love this series (IM EARLY THIS TIME!)

Hello Mr pickle

You are never going to get to 1 billion lol, all you do is contract work yourself, that's gonna take forever
Also so boring to watch, if I wanted to see you go up and down for 40 mins, I'd do it myself
Jake please check out my comment on ep 1 I know it was only a few hours ago but I think it’s a good idea as you have your greenhouse hobby, hope it helps!
Try course play for a better hired worker
GPS for plowing seemed like a waste of.time and money
