For those of you guys who is having confusion regarding why there is greater pressure on the concave side, i think the best way to look at it is in which direction the surface tension is acting in any case for ex. in the case of water and glass the S.T acts towards the outside as to decrease its surface area by increasing it's cohesive force compared to the adhesive force as Mr. Pradeep Kshetrapal brilliantly explained and finally in the case of a drop of water there is atmospheric pressure already acting on the surface of the drop add to it the surface tension due to which it tries to reduce it's surface area u have a total of pressure due to the atmosphere and pressure due to surface tension acting towards the inside and so the pressure inside is greater..hope this helps
sir which force cancel this net force of surface tension in upward direction in case of concave surface and downward in case of convex surface so that the concave or convex surface do not get changed into plane surface (i.e of reduced area)instead remain as convex or concave surface?
you better be grateful for the free knowledge....His students are his business you better not teach him to handle students...…. as if you never in your life talked during lectures
Sir, you said that angle will adjust itself to support rise in capillary of insufficient height, but angle of contact remains constant for any system, it is also mentioned in books.
Pradeep Kshetrapal sir actually in my book, it is given that radius of meniscus will change. H1r1=h2r2. All other quantities including angle of contact remains constant
sir in my textbook, derivation of excess pressure on liquid is given by taking force which is equal to surface tension *length.. n length is taken as 2*pie*r.. but length is is the length of straight line drawn between the molecules r8? cn we gve 2*pie*r?
Why in free fall condition the length of water column in capillary tube is equal to length of tube?h=2Tcos theta /drg where h is rise in? height ,T=SURFACE TENSION d=-DENSITY r=RADIUS OF TUBE AND g=ACCELERATION DUE TO GRAVITY explain from this formula how rise in height equal length of tube in FREE FALL CONDITION.THANKS
Sir at 52.38 there is cancelation of sin components but when u r adding upward force why didnt u take ( scosθ +scosθ)2πr because there are 2 components of Surface tention in upward direction
ধন্যবাদ স্যার। Alhamdulillah I'm done with Surface Tension now. 😃 In next time I'll teach my students like you InshaAllah. Thanks from Bangladesh for sharing your high level lectures.
sir, i need to ask u a question! if the difference between pressure inside and outside of a soap bubble is 6mm of water and its radius is 8mm.what is the surface tension in dyne per cm? sir plse help me to get the solution!!!!!!
sir I am working as Rly..I have been watching your videos for my son who is studying 11 th class.urs way of presentation is marvelous sir. I want to get your video DVD for my son for IIT JEE.How to get pl guide me sir.
hello sir! ap ne is video k aakhir main capilary of insufficient heigh kay baare main parhaya hai woh mujhe samajh aa gaya . magar insufficient liquid ho toh kya ho ga..for example ek capilary tube main 5cm liquid rise of mass 8 gram ho ga .laikin agar main total liquid ka mass hi 4 gram kar doun toh kya ho ga.. sir please is ka jawab dijiye ga ...sir i am waiting
Sir, how height of sea water surface decreases due to decrease in surface tension of sea water by adding oil to it? I mean am not getting the logic behind this. Please guide
Sir what will happen when Q is 90', like capillary is made of Silver and liquid is Water, will the height be zero, means will the water level will remains same?
Because water forms concave meniscus and has a tendency to minimize surface area so pressure by the molecules is created . Whereas water does not form convex meniscus and mercury forms it and it is not having the tendency to minimize its surface area so pressure is not created in convex meniscus .
+suvidhi jain and mathematicaly, by the formula of excess pressure P=2S/R :. P is inversely proportional to R. So smaller the curvature higher the pressure.
sir I am working as Divisional Engineer in BSNL AP Circle.I have been watching your videos for my son who is studying 10 th class.urs way of presentation is marvelous sir. I want to get your video DVD for my son for IIT JEE.How to get pl guide me sir.
Sir thank u .. i wish agar aap humko physics padhapatey to bohot easy hota physics padhna .. but it's not possible :( Btw.. thank u soo much sir aap bohot accha padhatey ho :)
Thank u a lot sir I really thank u I am from punjab ( mansa) u have cleared my many doubts but I have still 1 doubt I.e how does the rectangle that you've dropped in water has 2 surfaces and it's formula becomes p= 4s/r ...pls explain me sir and ya can I get ur whatsapp no so I can discuss my problems with u sir pls
so you teach him to handle students.... better focus and study...don't criticize the students it is them who are sitting in front of him and we feel he is interacting to us.. ya and did you never talk during your lectures anytime
Sir...... students are blessed to have teacher like u...... you are very precious to us
i wish i had a at least a single teacher like him

How did you make the direction of surface tension in ascent formula?
I think video is cut during that part
GR8 XPLAINATioN👍👍👍
sir hats of to you .Great way of explainng physics conceptually
sir, is is true to say that excess pressure inside a bubble or a drop is independent on the change in size, i.e delta r ...
sir,i am truely grateful to u....your lectures have made me score good marks in physics both in board and aieee(jee main).........
your class is talk age palace for students where they talk about their experiments and houses

best explaination sir thank you sir
Please is the English version possible
sir plz tell me which book u r refering for teaching ascent formula..bez in ncert it is in different way..
Ascent fomula to bta dia decent formula to btao..???
sir i have heard your success story you are really great you are are an incredible teacher
sir why shouldn't you take P.2A in excess pressure of bubble.Tell me fast
hello sir, in case of capillary action why hydrostatic paradox is not working
sir,in capillarity how cud theta change in to alpha..???

sir if we take water in glass it does not form any concave surface but why you are considering it it forms only flat surface

sir plz explain effect on change in potential energy if radius changes from R1 to R2
sir, i need to ask u a question!

thank you very much for your that will help me to understand every concept easily
in the ncert text it is given that pressure is greater at convex side....plz explain sir...
U r awesome sir.thanx for teaching and I hope u r always wid for me...
Sir, how height of sea water surface decreases due to decrease in surface tension of sea water by adding oil to it? I mean am not getting the logic behind this. Please guide
Ok sir. Now I got it. Thank you..
Sir what will happen when Q is 90', like capillary is made of Silver and liquid is Water, will the height be zero, means will the water level will remains same?
thank you sir .....for better explanation
sir why always on the concave side of liquid the pressure is high why not on the convex side ? please explain sir
Because water forms concave meniscus and has a tendency to minimize surface area so pressure by the molecules is created . Whereas water does not form convex meniscus and mercury forms it and it is not having the tendency to minimize its surface area so pressure is not created in convex meniscus .
Each topic of physics please upload
sir out of a big drop and a small drop , high pressure is of a small drop why is that so i am not able to understand sir ??
+suvidhi jain and mathematicaly, by the formula of excess pressure P=2S/R :. P is inversely proportional to R. So smaller the curvature higher the pressure.
