Theres a document in a library/archive in Germany about thr beglditpanzers ammunition iirc, but it hasnt been digitized and seemingly nobody that cares about the begleit and plays WT lives near enough to it to go and check.
Also the helicopter warning system Imo it would have an even bigger inpact on how it plays. Don't think the apfsds will change much in what it can pen frontally and what it can’t

@@bisky9105 Yea we know nothing but using the 60mm as a base (Around 220) and the 40mm on the cv90(around 170). It will have likely around 200mm. Could be completely wrong because velocity, projectile mass and shell composition can effect shell penetration. But the T72 drivers hatch can already be penetrated by 30 APFSDS and the 60mm can penetrate the T80s drivers hatch so its up for debate.
If people didn't think the Begleit was ever good, they weren't playing against Germany in 2020. While it wasn't the main thing that made fighting them terrible, it definitely didn't help. I can't fathom how a 57mm autocannon could have ever been "bad", especially when it's dual-purpose anti-ground and anti-air, and VERY good at anti-air for not being dedicated anti-air. also spooks play ontos pls
Well, the 57 in the Begleit was taken from a Swedish *warship* so it was expected to be mounted on a rocky hull that would have to deal with both and sea targets at varying ranges.
The bagel panzer is one of those tanks that is good at literally any battle rating you put it at, but still just as vulnerable at and br. It's pros are useful no matter the situation and it's cons can be exploited by even reserve level tanks at times because of how thin the armor is.
@@thechickenmaster6543 "all light tanks" I can confirm, as a Japan top tier ground player that the Type 16 MCV works pretty well while being a 9.0 vehicle It has just the right amount of pen to go through conventional tank weakspots (except maybe the Leo 2A6), it's 2nd gen thermals for the gunner and commander do wonders too and it has quite a good mobility. The only downside I see in the MCV is it's transmission which has only 5 forward gears
Feels like my puma conscripted to play in my 6.7 lineup alongside my Panther 2, Coelian, Jagdpanther and Tiger 2 H. Quite nothing like finding a T34 (USA) on an small, fast but fragile 50mm car (I shit myself)
I remember playing the Begleit for the first time and being amazed by it’s performance. It was slow, big (I remember it being much bigger than it is now, or they changed the perspective), and there weren’T any animations for the tow. The fire rate was also the same as 40 mm bofors. The benefit, though, was that it had an autoloader with 120mm of pen with APHE. Nothing special when compared to the ZSU, but it has a TOW missile launcher. This was a fantastic vehicle already and I loved it so much. Now it’s still a good one shorting machine with improvements all around.

It went up in BRs before it even received those buffs. Also engine and ready-rack buffs happened before stabiliser and gun-handling, like, 2 patches before.
Acording to swedish testing, the 57mm bofors had so little differens to the 40mm bofors in Pen, that swedish designers thought it wasnt wourth to use cuz u couldnt carry as much ammo with the 57mm as u could with the 40mm. In game u can kill everything with the STRF 9040C from front, and the BILL version has top attack missiles, so i think the Strfs are pretty good. They should ad the MK 4 Strfs.
Begleit is pretty much equal to BILL 2 and better in some instances (I wrote here a comment about that) so either begleit should go up to 10.0 or Strf 9040s should go down to 9.3-9.7
So I really enjoy the Swedish 40mm but saying the kill easily from the front is just false. It "can" but it does so little module damage reliably that your either A expending most of the ready rack or B you don't remove weapons capability fast enough and are killed. Really annoying as before volumetric it was a little better but still terrible. 40mm APFSDS needs a damage model buff and holy fuck REMOVE THE DELAY for replenishing the ready rack holy fuck. I'd kiss whoever makes the ready rack change.

Ever since the Wirbelwind with HVAP-T Ive had a huge love and respect for rapid fire medium calibre cannons and their ability to fuck up tanks from the side. Nothing as funny then being an AA gun (and oversized at it with the Wirbel) and mowing down 4+ tanks in a row before they even realise u are there

It'd be interesting to see your take on the Type 90, especially considering how much it is overshadowed by the Type 10. Personally I see it as being almost as good, mainly due to the larger ready rack and (atm) better handling in terms of mobility.
you act like they just added all those "buffs" to just add them for balance. In actuallity the real vehicle had all those stats and capabilitys and was therefore not represented well in the game. One of the rare cases where Gaijin actually reads all those bug reports with documents to support them. So again - Begleit was not buffed. It was corrected to real live values! And about those "one shots" - it is a 57mm autocannon. And think of it also from another perspective: The SD.Kfz 234/2 had a 50mm cannon with about the same penetration values as the 57mm from the begleit. However - the Pumas 50mm had about the same penetration values as a shermans 75mm... So with that rapid fire of basicly Puma 50mm shells punching through your armor with every shell causing serious spalling... Its is basicly a ww2 50mm antitank cannon in a full automatic form.
Gotta love how gaijin gives the BMP-2M APFSDS ammo when all it really needed was to go up to 10.0+, while the BMP-3 and BMD-4 actually could use that ammo buff at 9.0 where they work best.
I've always been a fan of this tank when i first saw it in Armored Warfare. it's got pretty much everything a starterpack tank would need. angled armor fairly well; has a nice gun, nice speed, and has a recoilless rocket.
SAP in this vehicle is very effective against light vehicles like SPAA and IFVs from the side. Hit them basically anywhere and it’s a one shot. It pens and detonates inside the tank with good reliability.
I think it's funny that in terms of war thunder the only few vehicles that fit that beginning meme are a light tank with 0 armor, a stupidly funny SPAA that can barely do the AA, wirbeldew, and some others I forgot. None of which are frontline MBTs yet outperform said MBTs tenfold at a usually lower BR.

I used to complain about the begleit before it was buffed because the air burst shells made cas impossible and it was able to shred tanks with atgms. The only balance for it was the lack of a stabilizer and the slow vertical targeting speed but now those are both gone and cas at 9.0 and up is basically dead because of it.

volumetric shells are a good idea (sort of) implemented very poorly by a company that isn't particularly motivated to fix things

I still miss its APHE ammo. Reliable 2 shot kill can really make sure that enemy has no chance of shooting back
