This was a really good topic and something not so easy to talk about (with all the judgmental viewers on youtube haha). Really like how you handled it. My husband and I actually met online on one of these Muslim 'dating' apps, alhamdulilah it went well for us but I would also advise women to be super cautious on these apps. We are planning to make a video on our story and the way we went about it in hopes that it helps others as well insha Allah. I feel like for people who don't have family/friends who are actively looking out for them/rishta-hunting on their behalf, it's actually really hard to find someone - but not impossible, like you said.

Thats interesting! I am happy it turned out positive for you Alhamdullilah cuz these apps are quite dangerous like you said, i have been on a few and kind of regretted it. The guys there were very disrespectful and inappropriate and not looking for marriage whatsoever. They only wanted physical intimacy, its really messed up. They just on there to date and play around. It truly destroyed my hopes to find someone online and i personally dont think its the best way to find someone unless Allah guides you that way otherwise it cud put u in trouble. I dont want to burden myself in that way anymore

As someone who got married through Minder (Salams now), this was so accurate!! Be very transparent from the beginning. Setting expectations, especially in desi culture with the whole joint family situation is KEY. (Filtered out so many guys that sounded so unsure about being able to give their wives their own space of living) lol

I really liked you talking about this topic. As a female, its reassuring for me to know that every female out there can have and probably will have odd experiences at some point in her search to finding the right spouse but that is okay and is part of the journey to eventually finding the happiness that is right for you.

I don’t understand why people are so mad? Nowadays you have to be extremely cautious and use all your cards. I think people are confusing dating with westernized dating which is a major sin. However it is important to know who you’re going to get involved with for the rest of your life. No one will show their true colors to you in front of other people and I’ve seen it way too many times where the husband becomes manipulative, abusive, and neglectful behind the doors. Getting to know someone is so easy in islam yet the Muslim community finds ways of making it complicated. As long as there are no inappropriate talks or physical intimacy then it’s all good! Allah made marriage beautiful not a burden or chore for us!

Most muslim guys have never been with a girl so when they want to get married to a specific girl that they really like they will be touchy, and depending on how you get along and how much you are attracted to them, a guy being touchy is not necessarily a red flag.
It is just their way of conveying that they like you and if you are on the same wave then make it clear that you are ready to get serious.

As a revert I am not so caught up in dating to this level in terms of being so so strict . I know I’ll be judged for saying that but I’m a 41 year old adult woman who is capable of making her own judgements and decisions. I know what I’m looking for and what I have to offer . I have no issue with kissing or hugging a guy who I’m planning on marrying also not afraid to talk about sex and what I like etc. I find being too obsessive and strict can set you up for failure as you don’t get to know the guy well because it’s all on the surface . When you open up and can be direct with a man it works better . I’m not suggesting anyone need to kiss a guy or get close to them I’m just saying that once I’m not having sex outside marraige and am careful I’m happy with that. It’s hard out there trying to find a good spouse so whatever I can do to assist myself in that is a good thing.

      @kalyda211 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@Kaia-cz I am no scholar but one of the reasons it makes sense to have a mahram with you is to ensure the safety of both parties. If you live in the West or anywhere where dating is the norm, I am sure you have heard of the term "date rape." It's where a guy/girl (usually a guy) assaults someone by covertly giving them a sedative in their food/drink. There are also situations where men have been robbed by their dates. With a mahram, a date with bad intentions would have a much harder time carrying out their actions. Also, the presence of a mahram helps keep both parties accountable and ensures they don't engage in any sinful activity together. In addition, an individual who is truly interested in marrying someone will also be "marrying into the family" so the presence of mahram helps give a glimpse of how they will fit into the family.

Hej, I’m sorry to say but this made me a little sad. In a way you could just as well have been talking about “how to find a business partner”. Love and courting (English is not my first language so if that word sounds weird it is because I had to look it up) wasn’t mentioned at all. For me dating is all about having fun and seeing if I get “that” connection with someone. If the connection (and I’m not talking about whether or not we have the same idea of family or religion) is there I want that person to touch me, I want to sit closer to them, I want to get to know their sense of humour. That’s first priority for me. I wouldn’t bother going on a second that if I didn’t feel a twinkle of that. I think that is the start of love and I wouldn’t marry anyone without loving them. Maybe I’m a dreamer but if I love someone it doesn’t matter if we have a different view on many things, as long as we’re together and he supports me as a person I’m happy. I get that you have to be cautious as there is a lot to loose (if you believe there is) but don’t miss out on the ultimate reason for dating, which to me at least is to find someone to love and who loves you. Not saying that one should be stupid, but if someone wants to trick you into you giving them all your money, or that they will cheat on you, or just sleep with you and then dump you, then they are going to do that regardless of what questions you asked about their finances or family.

I totally understand your POV but I intentionally left out emotions of love and such because I was focusing on “halal” dating and the initials phases of dating/talking to someone which usually doesn’t translate to love at first sight. However everyone is different!

Love isnt everything girl. Just wait for 5 years and see that passion die with your emotions. There is no thing called love within the first 2 years of getting to know someone. Its all hormones and emotions. U live with that person for 30 years with no toxicity. Now thats love

And if I’m not happy in a relationship then I’m rather divorced. Maybe that is what bothers you, that women are sticking up for themselves and not tolerating rude men and lifelong relationships “just because” some men has said that it’s the “right” thing.

@@itwasaizensplan007 when this (why more people divorce today than before) has been studied it turns out that many more women would leave their husbands if they have financial independence. And as women are more independent today than they used to be many more can leave. So, that women didn’t leave before has not to do with that they didn’t want to, they simply didn’t have a choice.

@@itwasaizensplan007 and I don’t get it. Why should anyone “stick it out” in an unhappy marriage? We only live ones, why not make the most of it and be as happy as we can. God has given us one chance, let’s not waste it on misery. Do better and the world will be a better place. I’m not divorced myself and have no intention of it, but none of my friends that are have regretted it. I think your idea of that women regret that they have left their man is not correct.

I'm really sorry, but I'm extremely disturbed by the fact that you used the word "dating" to describe the Islamic way/process of speaking to someone for the purposes of marriage.
Even if that's not what you mean (I.e. "dating"), please note that the actual word carries many implications and should never be used for Muslims.
I'm so sad to see Muslims willing to follow non-Muslim concepts so quickly and to "Islamicize" it. Ta'arouf in Islam is not = to dating, and therefore the same term should not be used lest it leads to the Western concept of "dating".
They used to use the word "courting" in the past...and it meant for purposes of marriage. "Dating" is not.
    Take care

No type of dating is halal in Islam. Like I get it you've been through a divorce, but you shouldn't be teaching other young female Muslims how to date. No dating leads to a real relationship. Also, it is complicated to find men these days in the 21st century , but Islam allows no type of dating. So it’s better to stick with what Islam guides you with and to not twist God’s words. You're being a bad influence on young teenage females. Love the irony in this videos name “halal” dating. You should make another video on “halal” pork.

Nowhere in the Bible does it say you can’t kiss. Kissing is different than intercourse. But I guess if you can’t control yourself not kissing is best for you. This is exactly what Pharisee types do. They make the laws more than they are to signal virtue. Not kissing doesn’t make you more virtuous than someone who does. If you have the lust in your heart you have already sinned.
