Thank you sooo much Sign Guy! This is exactly what we want to know. The difference between Signwarehouse's Prismjet & Mutoh's Valuejet. Still watching. Will give more comments soon. Awesome content!
@@eXpansiveconsciousness I just get busy and wrapped up in trying to keep caught up. I'll post more when I can, today's video was literally taken off my phone and published. Lol
@@TheSignGuy I know how it can be especially with Xmas coming. Yeah editing must be time consuming. Will check out your new content soon. Looking foward to watching the Mutoh Ink vid. Keep well ;)
Hi Sign Guy. You did not ramble at all. Any rambling is actually good! All the information has been really helpful. The PrismJet bundle with the Muse cutter seems to be a really great deal, although have never heard of Muse. (Thanks for the rep's info as well). You mentioned needing to run the printer about at least 3-4 hours per day. I am also a small home based one man show (in the Caribbean) wanting to add eco solvent, and may not have that much work especially during the ongoing lockdowns. The cost of your waste ink amount also looks concerning. The 2-3 hour per week printing as you do, is what I may be looking at realistically as well. I have sharky sales reps in my country wanting to sell me Roland TrueVis VGs/SGs, used VPs, Epson S40600s & Mimakis (all available with local technical service & support) however they are very costly and since I am not intending to do that much eco solvent printing everyday was also looking at HP Latex, but think I will defenitly stay clear of those. (Btw totally agree with you and your wife from another one of your videos and also subscribe to the lifestyle of: Money is not everything and there is more to our existence than just work) Does Signwarehouse provide international service & support? Thinking if it would be wise or even possible to purchase from them & have it shipped to my country. Problem is, shipping costs for such an item would cost a lot, I would not be able to send it back, and I would not have any physical technical support if needed. That said, the bundle would fit into my estimated budget. (Looking to avoid going Roland with my local reps and struggle to pay twice as much but also not wanting to end up with bricks). Its comforting to hear you have little issues after 3 years especially with colour matching, profiles & maintenance. The user interface of this printer also looks simple enough compared to other brands. How is the output on this printer with small text, like for product labels? Any advice would be much appreciated. May have a few more questions in time if you don't mind. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, for your valuable experience and time & for this video.
Feel free to call me if and when you can 864-401-8026 I can go into more detail. I can also to a video reply? I'm not 100% up to speed with everything TH-cam can and can't do. Not sure the best way to relay that information. But very good questions and I do have some advise I can offer.
@@TheSignGuy Thanks so much. If/whenever you have the time & can do a video reply or just a short video about the ability of the printer's output on small text for product labels, would be great. I will store your contact info & surely keep in touch by phone/video call if & when possible. My country is still in lock down & business is closed, so waiting to see how things go in time. You have been so kind & helpful. Words cannot express my appreciation. God bless you, your family & business.
Sean, I have a Mutoh VJ1324X and a Mutoh VC1300 and run Flexi for Mutoh. The Flexi for Mutoh will only run Mutoh branded printers and cutters. If I have to buy a new printer, I will go to the full version of Flexi. Love your videos.
Depending on the ink saturation you are putting down, as little as 1 hour and up to overnight. The more ink you put down the longer you should wait to laminate, 98% of the time I used 3 different printer profiles. 1 profile was for very quick printing and putting the least amount of ink while still looking good. Prints from that profile sometimes never got laminated depending on what it was for.
@kingk5994 the more ink you put down the longer you should wait. But you don't have to, if the ink isn't done outgassing the the media and laminate will do strange things....
Hey! I just inheerited, well not really, but got it for almost nothing, a Mutoh 1628 TD and have no idea where to find ink for it. Nothing is for the td.. Only the x model
www.toner.com/models/Mutoh/22093.html The 1628TD is a fabric printer I think, it looks like uses a pigment or dye-sub ink in those. I would flush the system if you want to use eco-sol ink, it looks like the epson print head. Lots of work there and the main board will need replaced if you want to use the eco-sol inks. Good luck, it can be done and they are GREAT printer that run like a tank!
@@TheSignGuy it said you can print on signs and substrates like that. There’s a gutter you install if you don’t want to print to fabric. Glad to know it’s a good printer though. Thank you for the information
That is an OLD printer and some did have success to convert them to the 1304. Assuming it was converted, if it prints ECO-SOL inks and you have the RIP at a good price, go for it. We had a Mutoh 1204 (50") and it was a tank, I know flexi 8.5 up to 12ish? should have the drivers. There is no more support for those printers but a TON of web info and part suppliers if needed.
Did you ever have to change the printing head because of its lifetime? I'm getting a message saying something about it, so I'm not sure if the print head will die sometime soon or is just something that I can ignore for now. My printer is like 2 or 3 years old. I appreciate it if you know something about it.
So the lifetime counters on the printer are mechanical. They just count how many times an action was done, it's good to do a good inspection but mine did the same thing if the printer is operating correctly just reset the lifetime counters. I think this is it>>>>>>> With the printer off hold down the left "" and forward "-" keys all at once then hit the power button to start up in Maintenance mode 2 Go down to the second option, the initialize counter. Then down to number 11, the pump Then enter key should zero it out (I think). Restart the printer to get out of maintenance mode.
@@TheSignGuy yes, I disassembly one of those old series mutoh and took me few minutes to figure it out they use same chassis just they upgrade or downgrade the firmware depend on the line of the model, the DX5 Epson head is capable to handle a lot of resolution and speed. I think all the development was do on Xerox then they distribute on different country markets under other renamed brands.

Great video. I'm thinking in buying their prismjet 54 gen2.. How long after printing do you usually waited before handling and laminating the prints??

You can with the pigment ink, but pigment ink will not hold up like Eco or latex.
Is the mutuah xerox 8254 a good printer still

How do hit lime greens ?
RGB 98% of the time but it depends on the the output profile as well. Some I can hit CYMK and when I get too frustrated I just die cut it LOL

I wonder if ours would work as well as his if I started up-talking like a teenage girl. Seems to with for this guy… 😂
Prism Jet = Mutoh = Xerox
