Hey everyone! Co-writer and director of ATROPA here. Very excited to share the series with you - be sure to catch all seven episodes, releasing one-per-day this week. I'm happy to answer any questions below, and hopefully some of our awesome cast and crew will chime in as well. Many thanks to the team at DUST, and to everyone for watching and supporting the show. Enjoy!
Graphics are immense already and I'm 2mins in. Looking forward to this all week. Thanks guys and Very Very well done. 👏🏽👏🏽
From the mouthy one of the silent majority of sci-fi fans 🤣💯👽💯👹💯🤖💯🚀💯👊🏽
Subd aswell.,👍🏽
Nice video. Good job guys !
Waiting 🔥🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👍
I like how it started.
@@SK4M_Freal Thank you!
Freelance Storyboard Artist JC here that worked on ATROPA.
Congrats to the cast and crew of ATROPA.
Thanks to DUST for picking up the show and showing it to the world.
Really awesome to see this again.
Good job everybody!
thank you, perfect writing on this one
Well done you too.
I'm proud to be your one hundredth upvote.
The use of reflections, authentic atmosphere achieved by lighting, and a soundtrack that beats with heart of the story. Crazy to think that was only 9 minutes. Casting was on point. Hats off to a well orchasted team effort!
I honestly don’t understand why you so very talented people are not making major films & TV shows these shorts remind me of classic television the outer limits, the twilight zone, people want escapism & you all serve it up in boatloads! Bravo Dust! Bravo!
..WAIT A MINUTE!!!??! This is *incredibly* good, amazing.... how the hell am I only now learning about this in fall 2023??
ATROPA is spectacular - thank you, and my compliments -
This 7-episode series is better than most of what comes out of Hollywood. The story line, the script, the acting, the musical score, the judicious use of awesome special effects.
I like it! I can't believe that DUST is distributing this story. It's not post-apocalypse. It's not about the last surviving human. It's a thriller, but not intentionally depressing. And, most important, it appears to have a plot!
All of these are no-nos on DUST.
Thank you Eli and Dust! I hope you all enjoy the show
You know it's good hardcore scifi when there's good metal sturdy interior, i cant wait to see more of this scifi is coming in strong and is here to STAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Okay, this first episode is really phenomenal and leaves you breathless. Can't wait to see the next episodes! Gorgeous and perfect soundtrack. I'm too intrigued by the fact that the name ATROPA is the opposite of the word PORTA A in Italian (DOOR A). I love these things!
Thanks for the kind words on the music!! -Kevin (Atropa Composer)
@@kevinrieplmusic Yeah, I also thought the soundtrack was what you would expect from a sci-fi film/series, actually exceeding my expectations. I'm looking forward to a new episode. Congrats on the awesome work!
I agree!
@@kevinrieplmusic 🤘🚀🤘
Absolutely beautiful music!
This is absolutely stunning. This is what science fiction is supposed to be. Can't wait to see the entire series.
Wicked!! A new series from DUST, even before I've watched it (to get an early comment) you just know its gonna be awesome.
Cheers Dust dudes.💯®💯👊🏽
This is a "must watch"! I was hooked, glued to my screen, binged the first 6 episodes, just waiting with baited breath on the final episode... The urgency and tension never drops, keeps you on the edge of your seat all the way through every episode, and then the cliff hanger at the end of the episode leaves you wanting more... I can't wait for the final installment! Truly impressive work, thank you to everyone involved in making this masterpiece - even more impressive to know it was done on such a low budget! Well done, and keep on producing such excellent work!
I could watch these short video's all day
I just watched all seven chapters of "ATROPA" It was like watching a movie , The good part it was better the of the junk I've been seeing on television. Thank you for the right balance of science and fiction .It was just cam good.....
I like the ingenuity of how the officers ship moves with independently moving engines.
And also engines on the front for slowing down which other movies dont use in their ship designs
or how we're in a future where there is apparently fully functional artificial gravity, yet they can't cobble together a basic navigation system for their ships.
Makes sense for a smaller ship. We've been using a similar set-up for some time with our space-craft = multiple engines capable of firing in different directions to adjust course. Though generally they put the engines on gimbals so they can rotate just the engine outlet cone instead of the whole engine. But still.
Excellent Two parallel Universes colliding in real time. what a cliffhanger!!
I can’t believe I just now came across this channel after many years of watching nothing but videos on space travel, updates on space craft engines, exo planets, ETC… this is one of the best YT channels I’ve ever came across.
No no no no no no no no!!!! There must be MORE!!!!!
This has a similar vibe to Event Horizon and the Matrix (onboard the Nebuchadnezzar) which are movies I'm very fond of. While this was a very short episode it was engaging and thought provoking. Very nice use of low-key lighting to add to the drama and claustrophobia. I can't wait to see the rest of this series. Very exciting stuff.
straight away the acting level is very believable
the way it looked at the beginning, I had to think of Event Horizon too^^
add dead space to it too. Aliens. Think ive heard some prometheus tunes too.
As a big lover of Event Horizon, My thoughts exactly! Definately a well crafted short. I would love to see this as a 2 hour movie! My congratulations to the film team that organized this! In 9 minutes it felt so much longer! - Bravo
Event Horizon atmosphere inside the big ship. Demolition Man style of entering a ship. Alien ambience in ship's mess room.
That's phenomenal, super excited to see more. This must have cost you a fortune and taken ages. You should all be proud of yourselves, the end product is stunning.
Intrigue. Suspense. Ominous Opener. Jolting conclusion. Outstanding. Best Dust yet!
Honestly, it was much better than i expected . I can’t wait for the second part! Amazing 👏👏👏
1:00 That little musical flourish. Direct nod to Alien. Love it. Really clever to rely on an established franchise to convey atmosphere in a limited amount of time.
Excellent work overall, looking forward to binging the rest
Excellent observation! There were a few other similarities or 'nods' to Alien - music very similar to Jerry Goldsmith's in the first half, particularly in the scene from 4:45, along with the lighting and steam venting in the corridors.
The electronic heartbeat sound is maybe a nod to The Thing. The heartbeat music for that movie has haunted me more than the movie itself, and I must have seen the movie a hundred times.
This looks amazing. The music score, special effects, and everything is great.
The ending is a twist that's unexpected.
Can't wait for the next one. Hope the next episodes are much longer.
Overall this is a good start to a great series.
Thank you it's a great watch.
SUPER COOL AND BEAUTIFUL, THIS SHORT DUST MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!! 😀😁🤩🥰😍👍👏💪🛰🚀🛸
I can't wait to see Episode 2!
After watching the entire series, I come back to comment on the first: watch them all. Very satisfying.
Wow good sci-fi thoroughly enjoyed this episode, another winner from Dust.
bETTER THAN THE MOVIES OF TODAY BY A MILLION TIMES! BRAVO!
Thanks guy...would you like to start in our newest upcoming film....
@@lawoull.6581 Sounds a great offer... How exactly??
*Hollywood movies
Worthy of the big screen. Bravo! 🤗
If you're looking at the comments to see if it's worth investing an hour in the full 7-episode arc of this series, the answer is YES. It's excellent and you will be glad you did.
A classic action Sci Fi movie.!!! Amazing! I love it ❤️
Wow! Very promising! I'm impressed
I'm so happy with the "Valley Forge" nugget.
Can hardly wait for the next episodes!
Looking forward to the next episode.👍😎
Okay, that was awesome. Need more !
The score & The gloomie claustrophobic nature of some surroundings of this DUST short, instantly reminds me of the alien franchise I was quite happy about that!, quite impressed too with one of the ships design reminiscent of a juggernaut. Not many modern sci-fi ships resemble a vague juggernaut design resemblance .
At last. After so many months of waiting... Sci-Fi again on this channel. Great!
Best story I've watched in a while. Gripping, suspenseful, unexpected, great actors! Full package!
Ok. I'm hooked.
This has restored my faith in good story telling, design, acting, production, directing in sci fi when there is so much crap out there today from destroyed franchises like Star Wars and trek. And I only watched 2 episodes so far. Amazing work, please stay independent and make more!
I agree with you wholeheartedly. However, I want to encourage you to watch The Expanse, if you haven't already done so.
Well done. Can't wait for the rest of the series!
I enjoyed this very much. I am looking forward to the next six.
"Переключает переключатель" - креативно так. Талант!
I'm impressed. *HIGH* production values, good theme and mood background music, attention to detail and a very suspense-filled start. Hope the remainder of the series delivers what this promises.
After just watching the second episode, I agree with a lot of people that the cgi and effects were superb.
But i would also like to add the actors did an amazing job and make all the difference in making the story seem more real and interesting.
I cant wait to see more.
Exceptional Series ! Amazing work I'm left speechless !!! Bravo !!!
LOVE IT. Looking forward to more ...
I love Dust, for those of us who don’t have time to watch a full movie at the end of a long days work, these short vids are awesome👍
I am Satan reborn in flesh and blood; Son of Satan💀🥃🌶
Brilliantly 🧐awesome 🤩
Woohoo let's get this on trending!
These episodes feel like ledger notes for the making of epic future blockbuster movies.
Looking forward to next episode well made had the makings of big budget movie
A good start for sure. Looking forward to seeing where this is headed.
VERY....WELL......DONE!!!!!! The best surprise I've had in years
I just finished watching the first three episodes and I have to say - this is amazing! Thank you! Great job. Sending to all of the sci-fi buff's I know.
Man's got beautiful eyes
I have been waiting for so long to be able to catch a film like this! Absolutely amazing! Breath-taking!
okay...so now I have to watch all the episodes. Great Job!
I stopped watching dust movies sometime ago. So many of them were done by artist snobs who disdain you if you don’t get their message in the film. His was really good. You’ve drawn me back in. Great job across the board: acting , VFX, music, storyline etc. looking forward to the rest.
Wow! Okay, I'm hooked!
This is going to be epic! I can feel it
thank you so much for bringing this to youtube. I have been searching for this show for such a long time!!
This is Netflix/Amazon worthy stuff 😍😍
I have watched the whole series and was totally addicted, this would have been something I would have watched on TV. Well done, very well written and acted, loved every minute of it.
Can't believe that was 9 minutes long - good start, totally absorbed, looking forward to watching the next one.
Bravo. You did more with this miniseries than most shows could do with a decade.
WOW, this was well worth the watch! One of the very best series I've ever seen on DUST. Congratulations to all involved. I hope this leads to more.
This starts like a movie I never thought I always wanted to watch, lol. More of it, please!
Karkin amazing! Seriously, finished that with a “WTF?” running through my head.
Ok that was awesome, right from the very first shot - intrigued and excited for more ...
Valley Forge...nuff said, need to watch the rest now 😀
I'm definitely in your corner Mr. Eli! Can hardly wait for episode 2! Keep it coming. Excellent 🎵! 👍
Great! 👍🏻 Looking forward to the next episodes. 🤗
Excellent series, loved seeing Michael Ironside again,
If the rest are as good as this one, I'm totally hooked!
Visual treat + awesomeness
U guys should be on Netflix
Waiting for next episode
While I agree with the entertainment success of DUST I hope they dont go for a pay-per-view like NETFLIX! DUST can reach more people on PEACOCK!!
Great start to a brilliant sci-fi story. Great actors, script, special effects, atmosphere & visuals. Gripping. Thanks!
So far very good! Must see the next episode.
Great acting, great music, great cinematography, great CGI, an interesting cliffhanger... this is fantastic! I'm very impressed!
That was freaking Amazinggg!!!!!? 🔥🔥✨✨💖💖
Wow! This is brilliant. Love it
One of the best shorts I have seen yet. Perhaps THE best.
Very good first episode, that's real scifi. hope next episodes on same level.
Amazing! The musical score is cinema quality. The story intriguing.
absolutely BRILLIANT!
Robbie Williams got jacked for this role. Good on him, very multi talented.
Great SF stuff. Good pace that install suspens and well filmed. Just want more ^^ !
I enjoyed that…. I’ll be waiting to see what happens in each future episode.
Excellent so far...keep it up...thanks!
Good cliffhanger 'can't wait ,looks very misterious and eerie👍
Well, I'm glad that its a series and there are several more episodes, because I'm still none the wiser as to what's going on... other than that the cop and lone female character have history!
That definitely did not feel like it was 9 minutes, felt like 3. Great job to all involved, I look forward to the rest!
That was a very quick nine minutes!
That's a good sign 🙂!
OUTSTANDING WORK!!!!!
As much as I love all the shorts we get I am ALWAYS ;left wanting to revisit the universe in many of them but they simply never return and move onto the next story they want to tell. THANKS for the extended visit. Fantastic work...
That was really good can't wait for the next one what a great start to the series
🐼 Big Bear Hugs from a 68 yr old grandma in Kirby, Texas, USA 🐼 ❤️ 🎀 ❤️
Have finished 7 episodes. Capable of space travel but no nite vision headset, no light drones. Still uses a flashlight. Still i can't help but like this movie with excellent production value, great script, top notch acting. And Micheal Ironside bonus too.
looks great - very expanse vibes!
Well done. All the right hints given without using a sledgehammer. Nice subtle touch. Acting is spot on for the characters thus far. I think I know who dies tragically, but I'm not sure. Well done.
