Coming back to this video with my own Yashica back in my arsenal, and I just realized that I've got the same strap on my YashicaMat EM! What a great little camera!
Glad to see someone else with a Yashica A. My mom had one and I found one in our friend's shed in its original case, thing is pristine. Love shooting with it
Lmao! Why are you like this! Great video. You almost lost me at the beginning but then you started talking about the camera and your personality shined through. I’m cracking up! Officially glad I bought the camera now. Thank you! On to part 2!
Just started on film a few months ago, found a Yashica A in an estate sale the other week, got it for $24 (including another yashica 35mm film camera and 3 zoom lenses. Excited to start shooting medium format!
I just got this camera and ran the first trial.. somehow the first 4 photos didnt take at all 😭 makes me wonder if i should wind it further on the take up spool next time
What gorgeous pictures! At some point, I gotta try medium format. Though that Pentax 6 x 7 has won over my heart, in terms of what I wanna get, but I might get something like this
Bad Flashes the good ol’ square... at the moment my square format love is all towards Polaroid... maybe I should give 6x6 a chance! Fuck it, I will at some point!
Hey! i have one of these bad boys but the shutter button gets stuck when i press it down. still fires but it doesnt spring back up. have you had this happen? know of any fixes?
call camera, funny vid, been enjoying your channel. i bought a yashicaflex aii and it is supposed to be fully serviced bla bla, but I can hardly see though the viewing lens, is there anything I can do to fix this?
Most of the 635 models have the same Yashinor lens as in the video A model. I have no idea what the definition of "stupid sharp" might be. I suspect it defines the user rather than the camera, as the lens is a 3 element triplet made by the lauser lens company, which made the worst lenses sold on Japanese cameras. My 635 was unable to make a sharp 11x14 print from a 6x6cm negative unless the lens was shut down to f-8.0. Wide open it could not make a sharp 5x7inch print.
@@randallstewart175 - Wow you're a piece of work. I can get sharp prints up to 8x10 (biggest I can go ATM). I'm not saying there are not bad ones out there, but the two I have both take nice pictures. Maybe get off your high horse and not insult people for having a different opinion than you.
TLRs are super fun but definitely take a minute to wrap your head around the flipped view. I just made a video using a super Ricohflex was a good time lol
Bad Flashes TLR’s are super quirky but fun to use especially that massive view from the top. And 6x6 is a great compromise between quality and quantity for film
There are so many minor errors in the info in this video that its not worth listing. Know that it sold new for $30. It's worth about $50 because it has one of poorest lenses ever permitted on a Japanese camera. The idea of paying up to $250 is laughable. Just because of the size of the negative, you can make decent looking prints up to 8x10 inches, but the hard fact is that almost any other Japanese TLR is better made and will give you a higher quality negative. Which? Pick one: Minolta Autocord, Ricoh Diacord, any Mamiya, etc. The reason you see so many videos lauding Yashica TLRs is that there are so many of them. Why so many? They were cheap as dirt.
Chill dude...surely any Yashimar lens is as good a lens as any amateur is a photographer. Unless you're taking photos of lens test charts you cannot even tell between a Yashimar and Planar.
Frickn love my Yashica tlr... perfect for slow photography, not the best for street tho haha but tried it out in a video on my channel as a Vivian Maier challenge!
@@BadFlashes you've said it's not easy to repair. You have in the US the god of the Yashica Cameras. I've sent one of mine to him , he came's back just as new
Erickson Reyes yep yep, the kit should tell you. Cinestill for example, can do about 8 or so. They can be extended past 8 but you will have to off set the time... charts are available online and in the instructions.
I had to watch the second half a couple of time cos was laughing too much at 'cattywampus' (which isn't even funny cos that's how cameras work)(no, you shut up)

Right!!! Love that thing! And that’s so funny strap buddies! It looks great in that little box 📦

Oh wow that’s amazing. I love that!!! That’s a wonderful find!
I really haven't used those, but they're still one of the best deals and introductions to medium format out there.
Couldn’t agree more! So easy to use and fun!

I’m glad you’re happy with the camera it’s a wonderful companion 😁
2:00 I took what is probably my favorite photo of all time with a Yashica-A twenty couple years ago. Such a perfect way to shoot photos.
That’s awesome!!!!! ‘‘Tis such an awesome camera. Trusty sidekick! 😃
Perfect timing Caleb. I was just looking to buy one of these and this is what I needed... Cheers!!
Nice! Glad to be of service!
Went on Facebook marketplace yesterday, snatched one for $50 fully working. Bought for a project for school, really excited to use

Aww thanks! And you won’t be disappointed :)

Was the exposure correct for the first few? Or what about the shutter? Maybe it was sticky on other speeds?
Yashica is Fair and Square!
Oh yeah it is baby!
Yoooo just bought one in Japan and was wondering what kind of film do I get?
120 film …. Any flavor of color or black and white you would like to try :)
What gorgeous pictures! At some point, I gotta try medium format. Though that Pentax 6 x 7 has won over my heart, in terms of what I wanna get, but I might get something like this

Just impulse bought one off craigslist for 100 and binged this real quick lol thanks
Love that!!!! Hope you enjoy! They are awesome cameras.
helloooooo. why did the pictures come out with all that texture on the roll it came with?? was it expired or something
My best few guesses is that it was really old and that it was in the camera for ages ... heat damage maybe
Tape one of titanic did indeed have all of the goods, there’s a reason why I wore that shit out when I was a kid
Hahaha 😝

There are people that specialize in cleaning up cameras like that. You could always try to fix it yourself... there might be videos on that.
Thanks for the love ❤️☺️
I live in a very small town in australia, I have to send everything away and order most things online, but yeah I think I found a guy. :) 👍
Oh dope! There is always a guy!!!! 😉
Glad you’re getting it fixed!
I have 2 Yashica 635s, with 35mm adapter kits. With 35 and 120 the lens is stupid sharp, love mine.
I have a few 3D printed parts that allow me to use the 35mm film but I haven’t used it in the TLR... maybe I should! Thanks for the tip 😉

I have one in india, but it's Yashika B,
