  • The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum was created to honor those who were killed, those who survived and those changed forever by the April 19, 1995, bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Building in Oklahoma City. Follow along on your tour of the Outdoor Symbolic Memorial as its designers guide you through each symbolic element.

My wife and I visited this memorial last month on a cross-country trip. This was -- HANDS DOWN -- *THE* most thoughtfully and beautifully designed memorial that I've had the privilege to visit in my lifetime. This video is a perfect walkthrough, explaining not only the decisions that went into this memorial's design, but the gravity/emotion/love that underpinned those decisions. Well, WELL done, designers...and thank you, Oklahoma City, for remembering your lost and your fallen in such a moving fashion.

How do you ever heal from losing a child, you never do. But, you learn how to live for them, and try to help others, and realize the gift of life can be taken away so quickly, and you may never have the chance to tell your loved one just how much you love them so, don't ever waste it, always tell your family near and far how much you love them because, they could be gone tomorrow, and all you're left with is the memories. I'm speaking from experience, and it hurts so bad every day of my life.

Your message here is PROFOUNDLY comforting -- I can't imagine that sort of loss (and I have two grown children), so I thank you so much for sharing this, I'm so, SO sorry for your loss. I do feel that God is working through you to say and share healing words like this...and we can't imagine how many hearts you are, and continue, to heal through these words. Praying for your comfort, friend.
