Strong column weak beam is very important concept in structural analysis and design. It's desirable to have failure in beam but not in column as it will cause collapse of structural system. You can check this by calculating stiffness of column and beam and taking ratio of that.

strong column weak beam check was an awaited tutorial , thanks
thanks for sharing this video , I would like to ask , is it needed to use modifier 0.25 for slab in slab beam system, I checked ACI-318 - 19 for that and its written that its necessary for flat plates and flat slab
Does ETABS check the shear strength of Beam-Column joint as per IS:13920-2016 cl.9 over and above Strong column-Weak beam check? How can I verify the check?
👍🏻
AOA brother. Udemy par ju course ap me upload kia hai us mai detailing ka portion cover kia hai ap ne? I mean complete working drawings ju ham banate hein submission ke leye.
No, it's an ETABS course primarily, but additionally design aspects are covered and you can check the topics covered on the landing page of course: www.udemy.com/course/etabs-rcc/?referralCode=4F571121E8073D773BE7
its nice..what about the size of 24" x 24" by increasing column will it feasible to adopt though the member size passed???
Sorry the question is Unclear. However if a size is passing checks then there would be no reason to increase size
@@EngineeringLearningPlatform 24" x 24 " size passed once 18"x18" not passed..but adopting of 24 " is feasible for residential??
@@gowthamiv4841 it is totally dependent on the project I cannot judge that without looking at drawings, it's an Engineer's call and judgement
are the wall loads include in mass source ??
They must have to be
Can you please share any technical doc that how etabs calculates it.
Go to Etabs help menu, click on manuals there you can see list of manuals of different codes, see for your code and the pdf manual will open
how can i check strong column weak beam if I have a intermediate sway? as We know, Etabs just calculates strong column weak beam for special moment frames.
Didn't get the question
@@EngineeringLearningPlatform Hi, thank you for aswering me, I mean, when I have a intermediate sway and I want to check 6/5 beam/column capacity ratios OR column/beam capacity ratios I get from Etabs N/A, it happens because Etabs Just calculates these capacity ratios for special frame moments, so as I mention before, I have a intermediate sway and I want to do these Checks. How can I check 6/5 beam/column capacity ratio in an intermediate sway?. In this video you are working whit a special frame moment so you can check 6/5 beam/column capacity ratio.
can you explain the color of column it displays as red pink and sometimes as black
Red is failure. Black is if you haven't designed it
What does N/A mean in c/b capacity ratio
Mostly arises when the beam is not assigned "beam property" happens by mistake, or if the joint is not properly forming at common node or even releases can cause this issue.
@@EngineeringLearningPlatform How ti fixed it? please answer.
@@4ta01_josuadmarthrietchyri7 select the members, go to design and then "overwrite the frame design procedure" to correct one. If concrete so concrete or steel so steel
Confused…
