You can reshape circle size. It is possible. Touch with a pen or a finger on circle line between control dots and move inside for smaller circle or outside of circle for make it larger.
what brush did u use and how did u get consistent pressure? the lines are so crisp and clean sometimes when i do shapes it also get a little bleed at the start of my shape too
Thanks for the tutorial! When I use Quick Shapes, like for ellipses or circles (or any closed shape), I cannot get it to close "cleanly" as you did in the tutorial, meaning the line thickness is inconsistent when the starting point of a circle and ending point are different thickness. Any suggestions? Thanks!!
Hiya! It's because of pressure sensitivity - if you check out your brush icons you will see they are fading away at some point, that's where less pressure is applied. Anyway, if you want lines with consistent pressure, then go to Settings > Preferences > Edit Pressure Curve ... as default it should be a straight line from the bottom left corner to the top right corner. If you move the bottom left corner all the way up to the top left corner you're all set. If you're done and want the values back to default just hit "Reset" :-)
thank you for the explanation, can I ask what is the name of the brush that you used? because i am having a hard time because the thickness of the line is different when making the shape.. thank you
Hi there, thanks for your video! I have an issue following your tutorial, when I accessed ‘Tap⬜️’ under quick shape in the gesture controls, I wanted to activate the function you have (so that when you click the square while drawing, it will take me back and give me the option to ‘Edit shape’.) However when I’m drawing and I select the square tool, it just says ‘No Quickshape action available’, instead of ‘Edit shape’. Is there anything you could suggest? I’ve followed your tutorial perfectly otherwise. Thankyou in advance :)
Hi! Everytime I want to make a square the sides are never alignes to the canvas. It looks wobbly. Your square instead is perfectly aligned to the canvas lines. How do you do that?
I use a modified version from monoline or studio pen - also in the inking section, but I have two free brushes in my Gumroad page that one has no tapering 👍 - it’s called the free starter pack ! Cheers
I’ve been looking for a while now and I can’t seem to find an answer - Is there a way to get two ends of a shape to connect if it is not a circle or triangle or square? If I am drawing a random polygon and I’m trying to get the place I started and where I am ending to connect without having to go in afterward and erase any overlap how would I do that? Is there a way to get these to “magnetize” together? Thanks! :)
My family has said the Quick Shape is cheating and not really drawing. I say that if I was using paper, I'd use a ruler. Does that make it cheating? No! Thanks so much for that last tip!! Just yesterday I was following a tutorial and several times suggested I could edit a line again, rather than delete the line and try again. This really helps!
Thanks for this informative vid. Like someone else I am curious what you are using for a pencil here... Or is that a sleeve of some sort for any pencil that improves your grip? I've got an Apple pencil V1 which I find slightly slippery to hold... I'll have to find some sort of gripper for it. Thanks!
I don’t know if this is something you covered in another video, but for example, when you had the circle in the square, is there some sort of like gridlock setting you can utilize to make a shape or line perfectly centered in another? Like to center the circle in the square, or a line centered in a circle?
Can you draw a symmetrical arc with it? Because it keeps the start and end point angles as drawn, and only "by default" way is draw an ellipse and cut one of the sides after, for like a teacup shaping, which is not very fast doing within one layer.
hello there, thanks for the great tips. Somehow i turned on the quickshape gesture controls like you but it does not give me the ability to reedit the shape after as you can. Do you have any idea? thanks
I can create a quick shape such as an eclipse. But then I cannot grab it to move it. (I have to go to select and then transform to be able to move it.) Why is this?
This is a stupid question, but I made a circle and filled it in with a color, how can I cut that circle in half now? i need to create a circle with two different colors split in the middle. HELP PLEASE!
After 5 years of using procreate i never knew about editing quick shapes. Thank you so much this is a lifesaver i wish i knew about this ever since i started, i feel so stupid rn lmao
After the last update my quick shapes keeping coming in crooked and the when i edit shape it separates the lines when turned into a rectangle. So frustrating.
Thank you! I do have a question...When I’m trying to use quick shapes to draw something like Mickey Mouse ears - I draw the first circle (the head), and then I duplicate that layer to create the ears, but when I make the circle smaller, the thickness is affected! Like, the ears turn our thinner than the head because I made the shape smaller...I want everything to be the same thickness. Any tips on how to solve this?
How do I make the square like perfectly centered and symmetrical on the page? Bc I’ve been trying to make comic panels but they aren’t like centered and they are a little tilted
Ok so I can get the quickshape to work but when I go to do circles the sides are lumpy bcuz I don’t have a steady pressure how can I make it completely perfect (as in no lumps in the shape/line)
when i draw a triangle with uneven sides, i used to be able to just hold down one finger and it would become a perfect triangle but it doesn't work anymore... any ideas?
You can do this with ibisPaint x tho with the moving layer option and when u click that brush stroke with the finger tapping icon and click the line one-
I turned off the pressure taper and touch taper, but when i made a straight line the line weight is is not that perfect. I want to make a really perfect straight line as if i used a line tool. :(
Every time I change gesture controls to allow me to edit the last quick shape, it duplicates the shape and leave the original where it is. What am I doing wrong?
*Clip Studio Paint* has Vector Layers where ANY stroke can always remain editable, including a freeform Bezier line tool. That's a big gap in *Procreate's* otherwise HUGE feature set.
So I don't know if you figured this out yet or not, but you actually CAN make the circle bigger or smaller after you make it. Simply grab it by the circle itself and resize it. Hope this helps =) Stay Awes9me
How do I center a circle? I want to center a circle to use the symmetry tool to draw a wreath, but it's off a tiny bit... How do I make it really centered?
Make sure to watch until the end for a bonus tip on Quick Shape!
Ghost Paper hiiiiiiiiii
No one replied so, hi-
Hii
My square just goes to the color tool. How do I make it to re select smart shapes?
You can reshape circle size. It is possible. Touch with a pen or a finger on circle line between control dots and move inside for smaller circle or outside of circle for make it larger.
THKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
Wow I never knew that now my circles don’t look like they were hit by a truck
😂😂😂😂😂sameeee
Literally same, can’t even start my character cause I can’t make the guide for the head😂😭
Moarmy. emi
my circles look ok, my ovals are messed up tho lmao
Yessir.
XD
what brush did u use and how did u get consistent pressure? the lines are so crisp and clean sometimes when i do shapes it also get a little bleed at the start of my shape too
TYSM I was trying to figure out how to do this and you made it so quick and easy to understand!
Quick shapey and easy
Thank you so much! However, I am still curious as to how to make a square with rounded corners. Could you please give me some tips :), Thank you!
U can’t do that
@@pixelakapixi5121 Yes u can. Make the square, erase corners and manually draw them in. Hold the curve to smooth them out.
That last tip was money!!! Thanks so much.
The bonus tip using the gesture edit is cool, thanks!
Thanks for the tutorial! Hi .. my stylus can only do up and down lines no deviation . Any ideas why . Is there an issue with 3rd party stylus calibration?
Where do you access the “edit shape”? Its not showing up for me :/
Wonderful explanation! Thank you so much! I saw so many people doing that on instagram and I was wondering how can you make straight shapes.
Is this feature exist in Photoshop
Thank you - your instruction is WONderfully inspiring 👏🥰
6:25 how come when i click on the small square i dont get the EDIT SHAPE option? instead i get a weird magnifying circular tool. anyone knows ??
What pen is that?
Thanks a lot! I was having a lot of trouble with this.
Oh my goooosshhshs thank you!! Every other video I watched just wanted be to create a new brush. This is soooooo much easier!!
thank you for the explanation, can I ask what is the name of the brush that you used? because i am having a hard time because the thickness of the line is different when making the shape.. thank you

Mercedes Bazan i dont understand what is wrong with the square?
Thank you. Not being able to get back into edit shape has been driving me crazy.
What brush do you use because I usually use Syrup in the Inking section but the lines overlap after joining the circle together creating a bump.
I use a modified version from monoline or studio pen - also in the inking section, but I have two free brushes in my Gumroad page that one has no tapering 👍 - it’s called the free starter pack ! Cheers
Sorry, do i need the apple stencil? Or can i use another too?? 😊
What about shapes with more than four sides of equal length? Pentagon, hexagon, heptagon, etc?
Finally i can draw a proper shape on procreate. Thanks for your tutorial
Hmm that last tip isn’t working for me. When I select those settings, and tap the square it says, “no quick shape action available.”
I’ve been looking for a while now and I can’t seem to find an answer - Is there a way to get two ends of a shape to connect if it is not a circle or triangle or square? can you quickshape curved lines to make them smooth?
You can just use the streamline function in the brush options for that 👍✨
Great video. I'm trying to figure out how to take part of my drawing, select in a rectangle, copy it and paste it right beside the first one. Thanks.
Did you ever figure out how to do that?
Hey man great tut I was wondering which brush ur using cause its a continuos stroke, no pressure marks. Thanks
It’s just a studio pen with no pressure - you can find one in Procreate and just remove the pressure control 👍
@@ghostpaper thanks man I didn't knew what slider to move haha keep it up!

How do u activate it? It dont work for me its still a messy line it won't fix

Just click on ‘edit shape’ after you create your round shape, and you will see an option ‘circle’ - that will snap into a perfect circle 👍
Does anyone know how to stiffen the edges? To avoid this kind of white line when you fill in the form
Awesome!! Thank you so much!

Is there any other app that does this on android. I'm surprised that procreate isn't on android yet.
