I am not an acoustics expert, but removing fine noise from recorded sound is a very tedious task. Moreover, this bell was installed at the landing place, but not near their house.
Its shown in the manga that Doumeki is tanned, but clearly her skin must already be dark because I doubt someone can have skin that dark from just the sun. I doubt she takes regular trips to the tanning salon lol It's probably just the usual light hair dark skin trope we always see in anime but Doumekis case isn't as bad. I hope her race/nationality is confirmed in the future because she's most likely mixed. Her full name is Parker Doumeki and Parker sounds very western. Maybe one of her parents is Japanese and the other is a different race. Idk I just love Doumeki for who she is
Interesting, I had a friend at school who was mixed race Japanese and she had bunches of dark auburn ringlets. It was very pretty, and adds credence to your mixed race theory.

With that info I’m guessing that she’s got a parent that’s Japanese and a parent that’s dark skinned and of Western descent, her complexion was lighter back then but got darker over time.
