Hi, FROST developer here. It is a nice video, thank you for making it :D I need to correct you on one small thing I find the portrayal of the torch issue in the "Not many bugs or issues" section a very questionable though. Classic Holstered Weapons (CHW) is by all means an external mod, that has the crash issue with the torch and other weapons. It has nothing really to do with FROST, it is more of a CHW issue (which can easily be solved!) There is a premade FROST patch for CHW, which is also part of the Below Zero FROST modding guide. Mentioning that it requires custom ini editing is pretty misleading, there is no need for that as a pre-made version of that ini already exists and can be installed like any other mod with no other steps necessary. It is just that easy. So the CHW thing is not related to FROST, rather to a CHW quirk, and you not noticing that the Below Zero guide tells you to install that patch :P I would appreciate a pinned post clarifying this, to avoid confusion/misinformation.
I'll pin your post, since you've explained it better than I could. I agree, it's not your mod's fault; CHW (especially the newer version) has problems with a lot of weapons. I'm sorry if I made it seem like FROST is at fault, or that fixing the issue is harder than it really is.
@@Yan-tz9pn Yes, but its not worth it. The F3 player base is relatively small nowadays, and such an overhaul would also not be compatible with TTW (which is often used by people), and generally the game
@@Redawt ah fair enough. Could you divulge what you would have done or are you keeping those ideas for another possible mod? Apologies if my English is direct
I think you haven't been to Downtown, the only friendly settlement in Frost. There you can find a lot of lore notes and if you have frost plus addon made by BSJprophet, you will even be given missions by certain npcs.
If you're considering playing Frost, I recommend booking a session with a tharapist for the day after you play so you can have someone to cry too about you having to kill helpless suvivors.
Frost spawned me into the basement of a fanatical cultist museum in my underwear. Above me prowled a deathclaw, who slavered and devoured cadavers, letting the pieces drop through holes in the floor, while I crept about like a mouse looking for clothes and ANY type of weapon. I found a pool cue. I don't know if I'm cut out for this.
FROST with all its official patches and addons add an MCM menu where you can adjust all of said features and settings you suggested using GCM to change at the end. This includes sanity accuracy debuffs, atmospheric radiation, and so on.
1:06 It does have a surprisingly deep story-line with multiple factions, there's even an abduction story-arc where you wake up to find yourself shanghaied in Far Harbor (and Nuka-World if you go for Frost Plus add-ons).
Fallout 4's CK was released nearly a month ago at this point in its lifespan. By now it also had Automatron and Wasteland Workshop DLCs. Far Harbor's release was less than a week away. People were angry at the slow update schedule and lack of DLC for Fallout 4, but so far Starfield is much worse! Zero new content yet, and none of those major QOL improvements they promised either. No city maps, no new ways to travel, and no mod support.
13:30 Technically there is A super mutant but you'd have to install Dark Calling which repurposes Super Mutant locations into unique encounters Also, yeah, there are 4 storylines that you can follow in order to reach some sort of "ending" in Frost. If you ever go back to it, I recommend joining the Metro Federation, finding Downtown, and following their storyline since it allows you to experience the 3 other ones as you're doing theirs
I really think you should consider either making a follow up video or at least look into the lore of this mod as it's really quite interesting! I really appreciate the way that Frost tells its story so subtlety while still having a clear present narrative
This was a really great review and I think you covered a lot of the key points to be wary of for a new player. I do wish you had gotten to experience the story because I personally find it to be one of the strongest aspects of the mod. There are several moments where I would find a note or corpse that would drop a massive lore bomb that ties into the base game and even the role of your own character in Frost. I dont think I've ever experienced being this interested in a mod's story before!
Frost is cool (😎), it's just a bit goalless since the main 'quest line' is very decentralised and you might just forget what step you're on. And when you find a settlement and have storage it gets quite easy. Also, the Wabbajack modlist is the best Frost modlist
Hey @pancorium thanks for all the great videos! Filling a void left for sure on TH-cam recently, I thought I'd post an idea for a mod battle that might be interesting to some people: combat rifle fixes, like remeshes or some of the micalov replacer options
Are there any other huge survival difficulty overhauls like this that fit into the base setting a little better? I don't think I want everything snowy but I like how brutal the radiation system and difficulty sound.
I love frost but I never managed to connect with it even after 15 hours it still didnt click for me sadly maybe I can give it a shot with some other mods along side it
the only issue i have with poluted climate wheaters is that awfull grey filter. no matter if its snowing or clear sunny whether, its always grey. its like plaing on a early 90 ish monocrome monitor.........
I havent never play frost and while this is good idea im not see myself playing it without heavily modifying it. Like first pipe weapons oh my why. I can understand those in commonwealth but on nuclear winter right after bombs drop no just no. heavily limited ammo, world have just ended if you are ever gonna find lots of ammo and weapons is on this point but need to use melee weapons because dont have enough ammo, no thank you. Should allways wear gasmask outside yet enemies dont seem to have problem not using it.
Few days ago i was wondering how my game suddenly crash this mutch (on my current mod list my game is so stable that i cant even belive it. last night i play 8 hours without any crashes) but i finally figure out that nvidia was release new drivers couple days earlier, updating drivers fix the crash issue.
I nullified Fallout 4's survival to vanilla "hard" with just thirst, hunger and diseases, I can't stand miserably punishing hardcore survivals, I like lite variants that make you think more about the mechanics in the game that were previously ignored
13:08 and ghouls have broken as fuck animations and shitty scripted "evasion" since vanilla. Their behavior reminds me moded snorks from stalker anomaly - broken, frustrating, hard to hit and fast

babe wake up a new Pancuronium video dropped
Thanks!
Thanks for suffering through this mod. I didn't finish this myself but I appreciate the work that went to it.
Also +1 to becoming a Morrowind channel.
Thank you you for the review
Sir I have to Thank you for this mod series. It has helped me immensely with my recent Fallout 4 Reinstall. Keep then Coming and excellent work.

Very interesting to watch as I never tried it , thanks for sharing !
And yet..... still no sign of the Starfield's Creation Kit ^^
honestly, who cares? mods arent going to save starfield
Mods won't fix that damn Main quest for sure yes ^^ But I'm curious to see what would be possible to do. Like new dungeons and stuff

I would love to see a mod that does most of the gameplay elements of this mod, but without completely removing all of the original quests.

have you done damn apocalypse yet??

I don't have Nexus Premium, so I don't have the patience to download that whole pack.

I've only ever used Vivid Waters but I'll take a look at some other water textures and see if comparing them makes for a good video.

Can I play Frost on my xbox s and how?
Unfortunately you can't download mods on console. Only for PC.
Can you review combined arms please also your literally the best fallout TH-camr and I’ve been binging your videos all day
Sorry for the late reply but sure, I'll add it to the long list of videos to get working on. No promises as to when it'll come out.
Wonder if Frost could be ported over to Xbox Series X?
Nope because it requires the Fallout Script Extender to function.
5:15 it's ok, beer isn't really alcohol.
Is this on ps5? (Can someone reply if u see this it looks so good,)😊
hey Pancuronium
Frost is great, hopefully you'll try DUST someday, pretty glitchy compared to Frost but still very good
the inverse difficulty curve was a problem for horizon and the base game itself and its why i never beat fallout 4 even though i have 690 hours in it
Frost was really good, many bugs tho, and I think a lot of that has been fixed by a team on Discord, as well as many add-ons or patches etc for mods.
Nice. I love your content.
