Change your fuel filter. Also clean your fuel tank. I had the exact problem. New fuel filter worked for all of a day. Clean the entire tank, then another filter and not a problem in almost 4 years

Exactly, clean the tank with thinner (takes two days to let it dissolve the dirt) and change filters

Pull the tank and clean it . Your old pitcock is more of the type they used on motorcycles cld of probably found gasket at local motorcycle dealer. I picked one up on a trade that had sat for while and jelled the fuel and water had gotten in tank cause cap was cracked . Found same cap off a Skaggs walk behind I had for parts. Sometimes have think outside the box on these things.

I had the same issue and fought it for ever until one day I left the fuel tank cap loose it ran 8 hours straight no issue so I drilled and added a vent hose, I use mine to run an old sawmill and light mowing if you push it very hard it will overheat after a while, when I use it with my saw mill I let water drivel down the radiator its seems to take care of the problem

I had the same problem. Couldn´t find a sediment filter, so I made a hole on the sediment filter to make the fuel run directly to the cup. And closed the on/off gauge. End of the problem.
