How wonderfrul to revisit the the life I led there. I was born [1946] and raised in Penarth and this walk brings back the feelings of a small boy, running around the paths, streets, parks and beach with with my brothers and mother. And the feelings of whenever I looked up, there she would be, and the comfort of knowing that I was there for her too. And, of course, a teenager walking these same places with the lads, looking out for girls, adventure, etc. What sweet, innocent, formative times.
I used to live in Penarth. My family left in 1978 to emigrate to Canada. I went to University in Reading & when I graduated I joined them. I’ve never been back to Penarth, to my immense regret. This was super nostalgic for me. If you do another tour, please visit Victoria Road, Stanwell School, the Railway Pub, and go the other way to the beach, down the big hill by the Yacht Club. (There won’t be so many lampposts to almost smack into, I’m sure 😅) I really enjoyed this. 👍🏴🇨🇦

I was born in Cardiff and moved to Penarth when I was 10 in 1971. What a great place to grow up, I loved it.
