Well guys, the A's move to Vegas is basically confirmed now, meaning this video is officially outdated. Just imagine Vancouver is in Las Vegas' place for the sake of this video.
I enjoyed the explanations of the cities on the list. I personally don’t agree with Raleigh over Charlotte, but I do agree that baseball needs to be in Carolina. Also, I understand you didn’t want to shift the divisions, but I think shifting 4 divisions per league is better than 3 divisions with 6 teams each. This means, I would expand the league to 40 teams rather than 36. 5 teams per division is perfect. Now that we know Oakland is moving to Vegas, here’s my list of expansion cities (with names just for imagination): I’ll let you guys decide how the divisions should be arranged. 1. Montreal Expos 2. Carolina KittyHawks aka Hawks or Aviators (but play in Charlotte) 3. New Orleans Krewe (name of a Mardi Gras organization) 4. Tennessee Six Strings (Tennessee to cover Nashville & Memphis & Six Strings honors music/guitars used by Elvis, BB King & Nashville’s country music) “Ten Sixers” 5. Austin Battles (logos include the severed arm battle flag & the come & get it canon battle flag). 6. Louisville Bats (Sluggers would be too on the nose & legal issues. Also honors Kentucky’s work to save endangered Grey bats there). 7. Mexico Águilas (means Eagle which is the national seal of Mexico) 8. Portland Cascades (after the mountains in Oregon) 9. Vancouver Blackfish (aka Orcas) 10. Utah Hubs (Salt Lake is “Crossroads to the West” and a Hub is a synonym for Crossroads).
I love your list! Only thing I would change is Montréal an Raleigh’s positions. I feel like Raleigh would work better as an AL team because the Expos used to be in the NL, and I feel like an inter-league rivalry with the Nationals (possibly in a World Series) would be crazy. Also if both the Blue Jays and Expos are good, they can meet in a World Series for an all Canadian World Series! Imagine how intense that could be!
Toronto and Montreal are natural rivals. They would need to be in the same division. Other than the ownership problems, Montreal failed because they weren't in the came league as the Blue Jays. AL and NL doesn't matter anymore, they both play by the same rules
This is a good video to identify the two likeliest candidates to expand baseball to 32 teams, and it makes a STRONG, strong case for Raleigh and Nashville. Unfortunately, it's just impossible to imagine Portland or Montréal building ballparks that could conceivably host MLB teams, and Louisville was last a credible MLB franchisee in 1899, after which the NL Louisville Colonels folded, never to return..
I would love to get a team in Salt Lake City. It's been a year since this video was made and now we know that Las Vegas is getting the A's. SLC has the former owner of the Jazz, who put in a bid, met with the MLB commissioner, released a rendering, and has aquired land to build on. They are also moving the AAA team to the suburbs. I still think it's a long shot but I can dream of it.
How I would do it updated to 2024: AL West: Salt Lake City NL West: Portland Why? So that Portland and Seattle can have a interleague rivalry and the same for Salt Lake City and Colorado. Houston and Arizona switch league. Why? Because 1, the AL West is kinda weird looking in a map since it has 2 Texas teams, so switching these 2 would make that both west divisions occupy the same area, and 2, so that Houston and Texas bring back their interleague rivalry, while San Diego and Arizona build a new one. At this point the A's are basically moving to Las Vegas, so that's in too. AL Central: Nashville NL Central: Austin Why?: Because Nashville is the frontrunner in MLB expansion while Austin is growing quickly. I could see them in either league, not necessarily in the AL or NL. Since the Central divisions have the best interleague rivalries, nothing needs to change, so these 2 would start their own interleague rivalry. AL East: Charlotte/Raleigh NL East: Montreal Why? So that Montreal brings back its interleague rivalry with Toronto and Charlotte/Raleigh creates one with Atlanta.
For 36 teams, my list of locations is as follows - also, I believe that we'll go to 40 teams at some point, given that other leagues have discussed this (we'll have to wait a few years there). Here is my list: U.S.: * Nashville (the hot favorite) * Virginia Beach/Norfolk (huge opportunity in the future, no other pro sports teams) * San Antonio/Austin (third team in Texas) * Buffalo (third MLB team in New York: this was the case in 1903-1957) * Hartford (no other pro sports teams) * Indianapolis * Birmingham (no other pro sports teams) * Charlotte/Raleigh * Louisville (no other pro sports teams) * Memphis * New Orleans * Oklahoma City * Portland * San Jose/Sacramento (a semi-replacement for the Athletics) * Orlando * Salt Lake City * Boise (no other pro sports teams) * Omaha (no other pro sports teams) * Hawaii (no other pro sports teams, huge opportunity here) Canada: * Montreal (the Expos relocated in 2005) * Vancouver * Edmonton * Calgary International: * Havana * Mexico City * Panama City * San Juan * Santo Dominigo * Seoul (there could be a possible deal with the KBO League here) * Tokyo (there could be a possible deal with NPB here) For what it's worth, I feel that for 36 teams, three leagues of 12 teams would be easier to schedule than two leagues of 18 teams, as well as providing extra revenue from an expanded and reformatted playoffs.
My parents, grandparents & great grandparents was from Goldsboro, NC. That is in the Raleigh-Durham area. A MLB baseball team in that area would be great.
PORTLAND LUMBERJAX AL WEST, SALT LAKE CITY STINGERS NL WEST, NASHVILLE STARS NL CENTRAL, INDIANA STALLIONS AL CENTRAL, MONTREAL EXPOS NL EAST AND CAROLINA COPPERHEADS NL EAST. MY ADDITIONS FOR A 36 MLB.
For Portland: Portland Mavericks like the Northwest League team from the 70's and especially after the Netflix Documentary The Battered Bastards of Baseball. Have one of their sponsors be Big League Chew, have Kurt Russell be part-owner and name the field that they play on the Bing Russell Memorial Field.
Nashville is the most favor for MLB expansion team, and in central Tennessee in the Central Time Zone. Is it true that Nashville should have all Big 4 professional sports. They do need the NBA team in the near future. Nashville already have the NFL team as of Tennessee Titans, and Nashville Predators for the NHL.
As a former Nashville resident, they're ready for an MLB team. There are, legitimately, more Braves fans in Nashville than in Atlanta. Nashville also works logistically in that no MLB team is further than a 2hr flight from Nashville. A perfect "pit stop" for east coast teams going west (kinda like Colorado or Houston for west coast teams). There's already a potential ownership group ready to go in Nashville, all MLB has to do is reach out and take the easy expansion fee money.
You're not correct about there being more Braves fans in Nashville than Atlanta. Atlanta is over three times the size of Nashville, and whenever I have gone to Braves games, over 80% of the license plates in the parking lots are GEORGIA plates, and Tennessee is probably less than five percent, if that. You also have about the same amount of South Carolina to Tennessee, and even North Carolina is up there, but Alabama is the number one non-Georgia state, at about perhaps 7% of fans at the games. The rest are namely a mix of Florida, Mississippi, and Virginia. I am fine with Nashville, as well as Charlotte, Raleigh, Orlando, Austin, and Norfolk all getting teams. There needs to be more southern teams. That said, Nashville is not in Atlanta's league, and I doubt it ever will be. Nashville of 2023 is the Atlanta of 1980.
Every argument used against Montreal was also used against Washington. Washington, KC, Milwaukee, and Seattle have all done well the second time around.
I like your idea of MLB in Tennessee. I think that it would be great to see a team in Nashville, but my thoughts are turned to Memphis. I would like to see the team in Memphis so that that way, you have at least two teams in each of the cities. NFL, NHL, and MLS in Nashville, and NBA and MLB in Memphis. Give the Grizzlies some company, you know? Plus, this would follow your argument for Raliegh, except just for the city population.
I briefly considered Memphis, but I ended up going with Nashville instead for three main reasons. 1. The Memphis area is losing population while the Nashville area is gaining population. Nashville has a great real estate market at the moment, along with new condo buildings being constructed in the downtown area. 2. Although Memphis has some lively spots in its downtown, Nashville's Broadway is truly spectacular and brings in huge crowds during most of the year. Nashville is favourable from a foot traffic standpoint. 3. Memphis is a pretty dangerous city. It's one of the most dangerous cities in the US in fact. Downtown Memphis is the most dangerous area in the whole city. Nashville is sort of dangerous as well, but not nearly as much as Memphis. It would be preferable if fans felt safe attending games.
I'd have a hard time seeing where a MLB stadium in Louisville would be located. Slugger Field uses the facade of a historic building, so its expansion ability is quite limited. The area around Lynn Family Stadium will eventually fill in and likely would not be an option by the time Louisville would be a serious expansion candidate. In all honesty, the best option might be to build a new stadium where "Old" Cardinal Stadium used to sit at the Kentucky State Fair and Expo Center. That said I don't see Louisville happening for quite some time between the Reds, Cardinals, and even the Cubs and Braves, much less any expansion team in Nashville that might get to vote on any potential expansion to Louisville. I also wouldn't be surprised if MLB would use expansion at the big league level to trim down the minors from 120-128 teams (30 or 32 x 4) to 108 teams (36 x 3). Teams like the Carolina Mudcats (Zebulon, NC) might not make much sense to operate with MLB in Raleigh or Durham. If expansion to Vancouver and Portland happens two Northwest League markets would be in MLB (Vancouver and Portland/Hillsboro). Maybe Spokane gets one of the new Pacific Coast League teams, but the others likely lose their place in the affiliated leagues.
Gregory Ziers 1 second ago Great video, very informative, I like see the MLB expand beyond 30 teams. There is potential untapped market amongst cities. Yes I like to see Major League Baseball go to 36 teams, maybe 40. My six cities: NL west: Portland AL west Las Vegas NL central San Antonio AL central Nashville NL East Montreal AL East Raleigh My Hypothetical 36 team scenario: In this scenario, the Oakland As relocate to Las Vegas, and the Tampa Bay Rays relocate to Montreal to become the Expos again Hypothetical locations for six new teams in this 36 team NL West: Inland Empire of Southern California (Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario metropolitan area) total population of the IE area 4.6 million. AL west: Salt Lake City NL Central: Austin AL central: Mexico City AL East: San Juan, PR NL East: Louisville
The biggest barrier to MLB expansion is regional TV deals, where teams are given large swaths of exclusive territory that these networks pay for. Many of these deals are 20+ years long and would be extremely hard to alter or get out of so a new team could scoop out their own territory. Look at the mess moving the Expos to Washington turned into, and how long it took to resolve. It would be very difficult to do that for 6 new teams.
I've often thought about a 36-team MLB expansion, and not just about where to place the new teams but also their names. Here's what mine would look like: *NL East* New York Mets Atlanta Braves Pittsburgh Pirates (they move to restore their historic rivalry with the Phillies) Philadelphia Phillies Montreal Expos Brooklyn Robins (I don't know if it's feasible to put a third team in NYC, but if it's possible then this should happen) *NL Central* Washington Nationals Miami Marlins Cincinnati Reds Milwaukee Brewers Chicago Cubs St. Louis Cardinals *NL West* Colorado Rockies Arizona Diamondbacks San Diego Padres Los Angeles Dodgers San Francisco Giants Vancouver Pilots (after the Seattle Pilots) *AL East* Boston Red Sox New York Yankees Toronto Blue Jays Baltimore Orioles Tampa Bay Rays Charlotte Queens (One of Charlotte's nicknames is the "Queen City.") *AL Central* Cleveland Guardians Detroit Tigers Minnesota Twins Chicago White Sox Kansas City Royals Memphis Blues (This name is self-explanatory.) *AL West* Texas Rangers Houston Astros Los Angeles Angels Oakland Athletics Portland Beavers (Portland previously had a minor league team by this name and it would have a natural rivalry with the Mariners) Seattle Mariners
New York could definitely support a 3rd team, and honestly I think Philly could support a second team if they got one. All of their pro teams have great attendance records and rabid fan bases, and even their minor league and college teams draw well. I think MLB will eventually expand to 32 teams, with 8 divisions of 4 teams, and a 6 team playoff with the division winners and 2 wild card teams. I think it could look something like this: NL East New York Mets Philadelphia Phillies Pittsburgh Pirates Atlanta Braves NL South Florida Marlins Tampa Rays Washington Nationals Baltimore Orioles NL Central Milwaukee Brewers Cincinnati Reds Chicago Cubs St. Louis Cardinals NL West Los Angeles Dodgers San Francisco Giants San Diego Padres Colorado Rockies AL East New York Yankees Boston Red Sox Toronto Blue Jays Montreal Expos AL South Houston Astros Texas Rangers Arizona Diamondbacks Kansas City Royals AL Central Chicago White Sox Cleveland Guardians Detroit Tigers Minnesota Twins AL West Los Angeles Angels Oakland A's Seattle Mariners Las Vegas Somethings This would obviously cause teams to switch leagues, but now that both teams have full time DH and a balanced schedule so everyone plays each other I don't think it's a big deal. The Braves in the NL East is a little off geographically but they are a great rival to the Mets and Phillies and it's almost impossible to make everything fit perfectly.
My top 6 cities that should get an MLB Team are: Montreal, QC Nashville, TN Las Vegas, NV Portland, OR Indianapolis, IN Charlotte, NC Honourabe Mentions: Vancouver, BC Mexico City, MX San Antonio, TX Salt Lake City, UT Here would be the divisions *AL East:* Boston, Baltimore, CHARLOTTE, NY Yankees, Tampa Bay, Toronto *AL Central:* CHI White Sox, Cleveland, Detroit, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Minnesota *AL West:* Houston, LA Angels, Oakland, PORTLAND, Seattle, Texas *NL East:* Miami, MONTREAL, NY Mets, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Washington *NL Central:* Atlanta, CHI Cubs, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, NASHVILLE, St. Louis *NL West:* Arizona, Colorado, LAS VEGAS, LA Dodgers, San Diego, San Francisco
Good suggestions. Although I personally think a potential Montréal team should be in the same division as the Blue Jays. Since the Expos/Blue Jays rivalry never really took off, I would like to see it more focused on if Montréal ever gets a team again.
The MLB should look into expanding into at least the northern part of Latin America. 7 teams in Mexico and 4 teams in the Caribbean (one each in Cuba, DR, PR and Jamaica) with the 42nd team reserved for Montreal.
The West has enough teams given the region's population. The entire western half of the country only has 78 million people or so, yet they have EIGHT teams (LA Dodgers, LA Angels, San Diego, San Francisco, Oakland, Seattle, Arizona, Colorado) 78,588,572 / 8 teams = 1 team for every 9,823,572 people. The Northeast has enough teams. They have SEVEN teams (Washington, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, NY Yankees, NY Mets, Boston), yet only have 57,609,148 people. 57,609,148 / 7 teams = 1 team for every 8,229,878 people. The Midwest has enough teams. They have NINE teams (Cleveland, Cincinnati, Detroit, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Milwaukee, Minnesota, St. Louis, and Kansas City). Yet, the region only has 68,985,454 people. 68,985,454 people / 9 teams = 1 team for every 7,665,050 people. Now, Consider the South. The South has only FIVE teams (Atlanta, Miami, Tampa Bay, Texas, and Houston), yet has a population of 126,266,107 people. 126,266,107 people/ 5 teams = 1 team for every 25,253,221 people. WHO NEEDS THE TEAMS? THe SOUTH, clearly.
I literally talked about Charlotte in the video. But as a brief recap, I wouldn't mind seeing a Charlotte team, but I chose Raleigh just to shine a spotlight on that city. I think either of them would be a great place for a team.
The way you talk about your viewers is really strange. There's like a hint of distain in it that feels misplaced. The people who leave xyz comments that may annoy you are a small amount of the people who will watch these videos and isn't enough to earn the way you end up talking down to the whole lot.
Louisville fact: When the ABA/NBA merger was completed, the ABA’s Kentucky Colonels was 6th overall in attendance. The NBA only wanted 4 of the ABA teams and Kentucky was not one of them.
Absolutely. The largest region of the country by population, and MLB has given the bulk of us only one team to cheer for. The northeast and midwest is too saturated with teams, in my opinion. Do you really need a team in Baltimore with Washington or Philadelphia so close by? Does New York really need two teams? Is Pittsburgh or Cleveland necessary with the two of them being so close to one another (get rid of one). Does Chicago really need two teams? Why does Milwaukee have a team with its small population. Here's what I'd do. Move the New York Mets and have them move to Norfolk. Move the Baltimore Orioles and have them move to Charlotte Move the Cleveland Guardians OR the Pittsburgh Pirates, and have the team move to Nashville. Move the Milwaukee Brewers and have them move to Austin. Move the Chicago White Sox and have them move to Orlando. Move the A's to Salt Lake City Move the Angels to Portland Then you could rework the divisions: National League East: Atlanta Braves, Norfolk Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, Miami Marlins, Washington Nationals National League Central: Cincinnati Reds, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, Nashville Pirates, Austin Brewers National League West: Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants, Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies. American League East: New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Charlotte Orioles, Orlando White Sox, Toronto Blue Jays American League Central: Minnesota Twins, Cleveland Guardians, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Tampa Bay Rays American League West: Seattle Mariners, Portland Angels, Salt Lake City A's, Houston Astros, Texas Rangers
Newark has the same problems as San Jose: it's inside another teams (two in this case) territorial rights. To put a team in Newark would require the aproval of both the Yankees and the Mets.
We would need to identify 8 cities. 6 for expansion and 2 to take the A’s and Rays. Also, they should rename the divisions rather than realign them. Then we wouldn’t have to worry about geographic dyslexia. The NHL used to name its divisions after people. Maybe the future is to name them after corporate sponsors.
If I had to pick two additional cities for the relocation of the A's and Rays, I'd probably go with Austin and Vancouver. I'm not a huge fan of naming divisions after corporate sponsors, but I could see that happening given today's trends in sports.
Winnipeg? A cold weather city with only about half the population of the smallest current city, Milwaukee. It only has about eight hundred thousand people in its metropolitan area.
The Cincinnati Reds would never allow expansion into Louisville or Columbus. Both cities are only 100 miles from Cincinnati, this diluting their market. Another point is with today's economy who can afford to attend any professional sports?
Honorable honorable mention, Omaha. Lots of baseball fans there with the CWS and a good history with their minor league team. Just not a big enough market. Shame

Portland and Montreal 👍 The South already has enough teams. They dont need another team in their dumb backwards states. And Vegas should never have a team.
The South has enough teams? Are you thinking clearly? The Braves are the only team throughout most of the South. They are the team for Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Mississippi. Even in the broader South, there are only five teams from Texas to Virginia (Atlanta, Miami, Tampa Bay, Texas, and Houston) How many teams does the same comparable swath of the midwest and northeast have? New York Yankees, New York Mets, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Boston, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Detroit, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Milwaukee, Minnesota, St. Louis, Kansas City, Washington, and Baltimore. So the South has 5 teams, but the north has 16 teams, 17 if you include Toronto, yet the South is the USA's most populated region, and the Northeast AND Midwest COMBINED have a comparable population to the South? There should be NO MORE NORTHERN TEAMS. They are saturated, enough already.
@@themaestro3034 Slack-Jawed Hillbilly towns? You are one funny dude. I've been up north, and it is downright depressing. The infrastructure looks old and terrible, and the cities, aside from New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Detroit, and Chicago, aren't that big. Pittsburgh looks like a hamlet in comparison to even Charlotte. Cincinnati looks like the Atlanta of 1980 in size, and Atlanta is a lot more glitzy.

Great video, very informative, I like see the MLB expand beyond 30 teams. There is potential untapped market amongst cities. Yes I like to see Major League Baseball go to 36 teams, maybe 40.
My six cities:
NL west: Portland
AL west Las Vegas
NL central San Antonio
AL central Nashville
NL East Montreal
AL East Raleigh
My Hypothetical 36 team scenario:
In this scenario, the Oakland As relocate to Las Vegas, and the Tampa Bay Rays relocate to Montreal to become the Expos again
Hypothetical locations for six new teams in this 36 team
NL West: Inland Empire of Southern California (Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario metropolitan area) total population of the IE area 4.6 million.
AL west: Salt Lake City
NL Central: Austin
AL central: Mexico City
AL East: San Juan, PR
NL East: Louisville
I’d probably put Raleigh in the AL and Montreal on the NL
That seems to be a popular consensus.
That's a very good point.
I would think Louisville’s population is too small to pack a 35,000-40,000 seat stadium 80+ times a year. Especially with rising ticket prices
If I could pick 6, these would be my choices.
Las Vegas
Nashville
Portland
Charlotte
Montreal
Salt Lake City
Good picks.
I've often thought about a 36-team MLB expansion, and not just about where to place the new teams but also their names. Here's what mine would look like:
*NL East*
New York Mets
Atlanta Braves
Pittsburgh Pirates (they move to restore their historic rivalry with the Phillies)
Philadelphia Phillies
Montreal Expos
Brooklyn Robins (I don't know if it's feasible to put a third team in NYC, but if it's possible then this should happen)
*NL Central*
Washington Nationals
Miami Marlins
Cincinnati Reds
Milwaukee Brewers
Chicago Cubs
St. Louis Cardinals
*NL West*
Colorado Rockies
Arizona Diamondbacks
San Diego Padres
Los Angeles Dodgers
San Francisco Giants
Vancouver Pilots (after the Seattle Pilots)
*AL East*
Boston Red Sox
New York Yankees
Toronto Blue Jays
Baltimore Orioles
Tampa Bay Rays
Charlotte Queens (One of Charlotte's nicknames is the "Queen City.")
*AL Central*
Cleveland Guardians
Detroit Tigers
Minnesota Twins
Chicago White Sox
Kansas City Royals
Memphis Blues (This name is self-explanatory.)
*AL West*
Texas Rangers
Houston Astros
Los Angeles Angels
Oakland Athletics
Portland Beavers (Portland previously had a minor league team by this name and it would have a natural rivalry with the Mariners)
Seattle Mariners
New York could definitely support a 3rd team, and honestly I think Philly could support a second team if they got one. All of their pro teams have great attendance records and rabid fan bases, and even their minor league and college teams draw well.
I think MLB will eventually expand to 32 teams, with 8 divisions of 4 teams, and a 6 team playoff with the division winners and 2 wild card teams. I think it could look something like this:
NL East
New York Mets
Philadelphia Phillies
Pittsburgh Pirates
Atlanta Braves
NL South
Florida Marlins
Tampa Rays
Washington Nationals
Baltimore Orioles
NL Central
Milwaukee Brewers
Cincinnati Reds
Chicago Cubs
St. Louis Cardinals
NL West
Los Angeles Dodgers
San Francisco Giants
San Diego Padres
Colorado Rockies
AL East
New York Yankees
Boston Red Sox
Toronto Blue Jays
Montreal Expos
AL South
Houston Astros
Texas Rangers
Arizona Diamondbacks
Kansas City Royals
AL Central
Chicago White Sox
Cleveland Guardians
Detroit Tigers
Minnesota Twins
AL West
Los Angeles Angels
Oakland A's
Seattle Mariners
Las Vegas Somethings
This would obviously cause teams to switch leagues, but now that both teams have full time DH and a balanced schedule so everyone plays each other I don't think it's a big deal. The Braves in the NL East is a little off geographically but they are a great rival to the Mets and Phillies and it's almost impossible to make everything fit perfectly.
San Antonio would be wonderful place for a baseball team
By the way, Louisville is not Lewy-Ville, it’s Lew-volle
My top 6 cities that should get an MLB Team are:
Montreal, QC
Nashville, TN
Las Vegas, NV
Portland, OR
Indianapolis, IN
Charlotte, NC
Honourabe Mentions:
Vancouver, BC
Mexico City, MX
San Antonio, TX
Salt Lake City, UT
Here would be the divisions
*AL East:* Boston, Baltimore, CHARLOTTE, NY Yankees, Tampa Bay, Toronto
*AL Central:* CHI White Sox, Cleveland, Detroit, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Minnesota
*AL West:* Houston, LA Angels, Oakland, PORTLAND, Seattle, Texas
*NL East:* Miami, MONTREAL, NY Mets, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Washington
*NL Central:* Atlanta, CHI Cubs, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, NASHVILLE, St. Louis
*NL West:* Arizona, Colorado, LAS VEGAS, LA Dodgers, San Diego, San Francisco
Good suggestions. Although I personally think a potential Montréal team should be in the same division as the Blue Jays. Since the Expos/Blue Jays rivalry never really took off, I would like to see it more focused on if Montréal ever gets a team again.
Indy would be national league
Both Charlotte and Nashville need to be in the National League to create rivalries with the Braves
The MLB should look into expanding into at least the northern part of Latin America. 7 teams in Mexico and 4 teams in the Caribbean (one each in Cuba, DR, PR and Jamaica) with the 42nd team reserved for Montreal.
Oh my God he did it
You're welcome.
The West has enough teams given the region's population. The entire western half of the country only has 78 million people or so, yet they have EIGHT teams (LA Dodgers, LA Angels, San Diego, San Francisco, Oakland, Seattle, Arizona, Colorado)
78,588,572 / 8 teams = 1 team for every 9,823,572 people.
Raleigh should go to AL east , Montreal in NL east as it was
Mlb definitely needs more south teams and a south division
What about Omaha NE, baseball town would be huge here CWS is already here proves baseball love
What about Charlotte, NC?
I literally talked about Charlotte in the video.
But as a brief recap, I wouldn't mind seeing a Charlotte team, but I chose Raleigh just to shine a spotlight on that city. I think either of them would be a great place for a team.
@@CharlieND ohhhhhhhhh, i kinda skimmed through it and missed it lmao
I would have Portland in the NL West, Raleigh in the AL East, Montreal in the NL East and Las Vegas in the AL West.
The way you talk about your viewers is really strange. There's like a hint of distain in it that feels misplaced. The people who leave xyz comments that may annoy you are a small amount of the people who will watch these videos and isn't enough to earn the way you end up talking down to the whole lot.
Very interesting.
1:05 There is no way you would put Atlanta in the central. Just because Pittsburgh is east doesn't make it an eastern team.
Rhode Island forever destined to never have a major league sports team of there own and have to settle with boston teams for all eternity 😢
I am from Nashville and no sounds are enough
Name ideas:
Portland Pines
Las Vegas Blackjacks
Nashville Stars
Louisville Sluggers
Raleigh Flyers
Montreal Expos (duh)
Should be Nashville Hot
Nashville is known for their hot chicken
Could say Las Vegas Gamblers
I'd add these cities.
1. Charlotte
2. Austin
3. Norfolk
4. Orlando
5. Montreal
Tennessee Six-Strings aka Strings aka Ten Sixers (10-6ers)
Louisville fact: When the ABA/NBA merger was completed, the ABA’s Kentucky Colonels was 6th overall in attendance. The NBA only wanted 4 of the ABA teams and Kentucky was not one of them.
You should do 40 teams for the NFL
Working on it
My top 6 Cities that should get a team:
1) Charlotte
2) Memphis
3) Portland
4) Oklahoma City
5) San Antonio
6) Omaha
Good list
I know buffalo is a small city, but they would love a baseball team
They have the Bisons.
Need more south teams
Move the Baltimore Orioles and have them move to Charlotte
Move the Cleveland Guardians OR the Pittsburgh Pirates, and have the team move to Nashville.
Move the Milwaukee Brewers and have them move to Austin.
Move the Chicago White Sox and have them move to Orlando.
Move the A's to Salt Lake City
Move the Angels to Portland
Then you could rework the divisions:
National League East:
Atlanta Braves, Norfolk Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, Miami Marlins, Washington Nationals
National League Central:
Cincinnati Reds, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, Nashville Pirates, Austin Brewers
National League West:
Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants, Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies.
American League East:
New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Charlotte Orioles, Orlando White Sox, Toronto Blue Jays
American League Central:
Minnesota Twins, Cleveland Guardians, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Tampa Bay Rays
American League West:
Seattle Mariners, Portland Angels, Salt Lake City A's, Houston Astros, Texas Rangers
Carolina
There’s already too many small market teams tho. i think if anything they’ll expand to 32
Also I would like a baseball team in Newark NJ I feel it’s a slept on city
its slept on for a reason
Newark has the same problems as San Jose: it's inside another teams (two in this case) territorial rights. To put a team in Newark would require the aproval of both the Yankees and the Mets.
I feel like Buffalo would be a good city
Being from Indy I found that offensive
Only argument is to put the Expos in the NL. It’s called the American League with two Canadian teams 💀
Why does nobody say Louisville correctly
I didn't learn the proper pronunciation until after people corrected me. Now I never make that mistake.
I'm not a huge fan of naming divisions after corporate sponsors, but I could see that happening given today's trends in sports.
other leagues that need expansion Mll, Nll, Mls, Arena football,.
What about NFL?
Working on it
@@CharlieND I will I'm going to let you know that Vin Scully died today.
Rolando Football is silly Major League Baseball is where it's at. Get your priorities in line.
Carolina should have an mlb team
I would put Montreal to the NL East and Carolina in the AL East and I would be Winnipeg in instead of Louisville
Winnipeg? A cold weather city with only about half the population of the smallest current city, Milwaukee. It only has about eight hundred thousand people in its metropolitan area.
Thank frig you chose MTL. Hopefully Ottawa, QC and TR would get minor league affiliates. You could steal their frontier league teams
Shame
Las VEGAS AS GOING TO HAVE NEW DOME STADUYM IN 2027
Mexico in NFL?
I think that could work
@@CharlieND Unlikely, Besides estadio azteca the other with nfl capacity is el olimpico universitario(also in mexico city) down there are 3 with 50+k and 2 40+k in Guadalajara, Monterrey & Puebla City
NO
Do the NFL next
Indy should get a main spot not an honorable mention
In between Cincinnati and Chicago? TOO CLOSE.
For me, i want
Nashville
Montreal again
Raleigh/Charlotte im impartial
Vancouver/Portland again impartial
Vegas
Austin
I’d put a team in louisville Indianapolis Montreal Utah and Vancouver
“Las Figis”
I like 6 teams more then 2... not sure I like all the cities.
Forget Montreal and put team in Buffalo
Cleveland is the Indians not guardians
Orlando
Look likes you going to have to Edmonton, Alberta Canada which a population of 1,010,899 and the metropolitan population of 1,418,118 for a new MLB expansion baseball team and Vancouver, British Columbia Canada which have population of 662,248 and the Metropolitan population of 2,642,825 for an new MLB expansion franchise team and has a baseball stadium with the seating capacity of 54,405 for baseball at BC Place which is located at 777 Pacific Boulevard in Vancouver, British Columbia for a current Minor League Baseball (MiLB) Northwest League High-A team Vancouver Canadians that would join the National League West in Major League Baseball, while the current American League West teams Athletics would move to Canada's Oil City (Edmonton, Alberta Canada where they would be known as the former Minor League Baseball Pacific Coast League Triple-A (officially Class AAA) team Edmonton Trappers franchise baseball team in Major League Baseball and would play at Rexall Place a future dome baseball stadium located at 7424 118th Avenue in downtown Edmonton, Alberta Canada.
BC Place is NOT built for baseball, dawg. I've been to games there.
Screw Montreal
No way to Vegas
Portland and Montreal 👍
The South already has enough teams. They dont need another team in their dumb backwards states. And Vegas should never have a team.
Would players really wanna live in scummy Portland tho?
@@jasonmilly3320 Portland is pretty nice. All the scum I see are the slackjawed inbred hicks in the southern states
The South has enough teams? Are you thinking clearly?
The Braves are the only team throughout most of the South. They are the team for Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Mississippi.
Even in the broader South, there are only five teams from Texas to Virginia (Atlanta, Miami, Tampa Bay, Texas, and Houston)
How many teams does the same comparable swath of the midwest and northeast have?
@@willp.8120 nah…. We dont need any more slack jawed hillbilly towns with teams. Let them have their dumbass college football.
@@themaestro3034
Slack-Jawed Hillbilly towns? You are one funny dude.
I've been up north, and it is downright depressing. The infrastructure looks old and terrible, and the cities, aside from New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Detroit, and Chicago, aren't that big.
Pittsburgh looks like a hamlet in comparison to even Charlotte.
Cincinnati looks like the Atlanta of 1980 in size, and Atlanta is a lot more glitzy.
You cannot be the most populated region of the country, bigger than any other, by far, and be a "slack jawed hillbilly town".
You act like a clown with your anti-southern argument.
