    This is the thing I’ve always believed about testosterone: the function is assertion and action. Using the yin and ying perspective we have the sleep, food, sun on one side and on the other we have being assertive, taking charge, having initiative and willpower and focus! I’ve yet to hear another Dr besides yourself bring up that aspect of testosterone

    My testosterone spikes everytime I train in a commercial gym. Women's gym attire has come on leaps and bounds over the years...

    I'm curious what you think of Drew Baye's use of TRT. Something that I think he now uses with probability bordering on certainty. He has never looked like this in his life, not even in his mid 30's when his own testosterone production was at its highest. Also, a height of 172 cm with 77 kg and a very low fat percentage is already extreme for a man in his thirties, but even more so for a middle-aged man.

    Great info. Doug's take on testosterone in the Q&A book was also an eye opener. Testosterone ages you... you get benefits from TRT, but also it's aging you more quickly, too. There's so many hormones to balance, especially insulin--not sure the emphasis out there on just one hormone.

    I can relate. Last time I wore my girlfriend's deodorant I had to take a week off from work to go hunting for grizzley bear and almost become something else's food. Never again. I'll stick to HIT

    Great! Similarly, action brings about motivation. Some people are waiting to get motivated to get active while the opposite is a more efficient way to get there. Get out and DO some DOPE SHIT and you WILL be motivated :-))
    Thank Doc!

    Is there any particular type of high intensity workout that is best for increasing testosterone? Split versus whole body? What about high intensity interval training?

    Would be cool if you could comment on the video, which contains a plethora of studies--and can focus on the summary at about 11:00>>>. It aligns with the research I did on TRT and lifting weights before I tried TRT about 8 years ago. The spike seems minimal or non-existent and for a 15-60 minute window of seemingly insignificant increase. I doubt with two workouts a week--that elicits the max two hour T spike--that is 2 hours out of a 168 hours a week--would make a significant difference. You mentioned you should check base levels of T before trying TRT. Of course! This is MANDATORY--else you are just another Gym Bro jabbing. SO before trying it I got my levels measured: 240 at age 55-ish. So: An 11 year old boy. ;).... This is with two heavy training sessions, 32 Lake Michigan summer beach visits of 4 + hours a visit, Vitamin D supplementation, Moderate/high fat diet with plenty of meats and eggs, 8 hours of sleep, 150++ GRAMS protein/day, etc. My supervised T dose is about 100/ML a week. But I am doing pellets now for a more linear dose with no spikes. This brings my T levels to upper 900's--still normal. Like most drugs--I reckon--dose matters. I f you abuse drugs, alcohol, pop-tarts, lack sleep.....you will "age". I am not seeing this at 8 years in. Age 64 tomorrow. Anyone can go to my FB on posts this week and find a photo of me pinching about 8mm fat on my abs in "Winter Condition". I also receive a series of T studies each week from Pubmed. In every single case where I read the conclusion, hypogonadal levels corrected with supplemental T have LESS incidence of heart issues and deaths by all causes. FURTHER, Many many our age will fall into a "depressive" funk. They then MAY submit to anti-depression meds. I had one client who did the T pellets, INSTEAD. I could see and his BEHAVIORAL differences. He came to life. He was shuffling around with no verve or energy. I said to Jim: "I bet you thought you were 'just' depressed.....". He agreed. He wasn't depressed. He was hypogonadal. th-cam.com/video/Sj6exknHlss/w-d-xo.html

    I am 68 and I really concentrate on swimming and cycling. Thinking of doing some weights again which I used to do a lot in my teens. Just out of interest how old are you? I just wondered because I wonder if I was too old to start.

    • @donnahelps5680
      @donnahelps5680 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re never too old to start. So what if you’re 68yo ? Whether you start working out or not, in 12 months you’ll still be 69. The only question is will you be an old dude or a buff old dude 🥰

      @@gareththomas2091 Not sure. First test came back at 1250....thought it was lab error so repeated it in 6 weeks and got 1,351. Free T is high normal. Maybe just training, diet, great wife, and a job where I get to make big decisions...or maybe just random luck.
