There are not much games where the final boss not only uses the techniques YOU taught him, but also becomes weaker the more fases you beat... and starts to cry.
A guy on the LISA subreddit pointed out that there are three guys who Brad doesn't kill during the army fight- they don't show up in any of the battles. It's highly likely they just ran- one is near the end, and the other two are next to guys who don't show up until the final wave, in other words, the strongest members of the army. One saw the fight was a lost cause, the other two were cowards.
@@djaccountisbfisbx3880but like why would you sacrifice your arm over items anyways, you get way more useful items right before this fight so there’s no point
i didn't choose the option to leave Brad without a hug i think i gave it to him because i personally felt bad for the stuff he went through only to fail in his goal in the end
I really appreciate that you chose not to hug brad in this. As hard of a choice it is to make for the player, I personally believe it makes the most sense for Buddy to leave Brad hanging in that moment. At the end of Painless, Buddy is the farthest she ever is from understanding Brad as a person and his love for her. Not hugging him not out of malice, but from the shock of the moment makes the most sense narratively.
The hug was much needed for brad, seeing him cry and him finally realising he failed and became the very thing he swore to destroy by passing the pain and trauma to buddy. Truly makes you love the game even more.
All Brad could see was an army of villains trying to stop him from being a good father. When in reality he was a junky obsessed with locking a little girl up in his basement "to protect her". The fact that Buddy didn't want that or, you know, all of humanity would die out without her, not to mention.
One said it before better than me, response to a question about if Brad ws supposed to be unsympathetic. "Brad is a broken man who went through a torrent of abuse in his early life, was unable to protect his sister from their dad, ended up falling into disarray after her death and even relapsing after getting Buddy, so much so that he... became apathetic. He said fuck you to the world, I am keeping the kid for myself. I'd say that this is up to interpretation, but like you said, 90% of the things he did are indeed justified because THIS IS OLATHE!!"¨ I am team Brad all the way anywho

10 years down the line, and “I’ve been dead for 35 years, today is the day I live,” is still the rawest line ever uttered in an RPG.

Huh, neat
"Today is the day I live."
What a Peak.

23:10, that goes harder.

Shout out to anyone else whose Brad had no arms at this point o>
I always Chose The Other Option Because As Much as I Liked Having Companions, My Fucking arms Bruh I need those to Deal Damage while Withdrawaled
Unless you’re playing Pain mode or using Joy, literally no use for the arms ‘cause you’re having withdrawals for like 80% of the game.
