    I have looked all over trying to find advice about hanging things in an RV. I am tired of hearing about command strips which are useless. Thanks so much.

      You could use permanent double sided mounting tape which is much stronger. 3m and gorilla make good ones. It will probably tear the surface of the wall off though if you ever had to remove it.

    When drilling, you can put electrical tape around the drill bit to stop it from going too far

    Love the advice for anchoring..definitely helps alot! On another note..we bought a bidet to avoid toilet paper in general..I don't think it's wise to put any of that down the toilet..but good to see it hasn't given you any trouble.

    This is SUPER helpful, thanks! We have a smaller RV as well, and two teenagers, and we chose not to upgrade because we can pull it anywhere with our half-ton.

      We upgraded to a 41ft fifth wheel. It's everything we need and more. But you are absolutely right, It's hard to find places to camp, smaller is sometimes better. Being able to pick up and go on a whim and being able to find campsite spontaneously is something we miss. I'm glad this video was helpful. Thank you for watching and supporting😎 🤙Thank you Kim!

    Good video. I would offer though that the anchor you’ve shown is only good for completely hollow RV walls, meaning interior walls. These will fail if you try using them on exterior walls on newer RV’s that have rigid foam insulation, because they won’t expand in the foam board.

    Thanks for all the great info! This was very helpful. One comment about the flushable wipes. Flushable wipes are marketed as ‘flushable’ because you can literally flush them, but they will not break down in the dump tank after you empty out. We are on a septic system and we’ve found out the hard way. Wipes are great, just don’t flush them, tops them in the trash, otherwise the campground will have very costly repairs to their underground tanks.

    FYI, you should insert the anchor into the wall, then insert and tighten the screw to set/expand the anchors, then remove the screw, and finally attach your fixture and tighten to the wall.

      @DURTYMAXLML  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks Karen!

    • @szinski
      @szinski 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@DURTYMAXLML I only suggested this because you were using the fixture to tighten/expand the anchor... if the fixture was fragile, it would crack under the stress. Better to use the screw by itself to expand the anchor, remove it, then attach the fixture. :)

      @DURTYMAXLML  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Very helpful video, just purchased a 2018 Keystone Cougar Travel Trailer. The walls are of concern as they are so thin in here. Can you tell me the load bearing capability of the towel bar with the hollow wall inserts?? Tysm

    We just bought a 2017 Keystone Hideout. Do you think this would be a good idea for hanging a couple of shelves for some small plants? I’ve been looking and looking for ideas that are more secure than adhesives and I’m hoping this could work. Thoughts?

    • @DURTYMAXLML
      @DURTYMAXLML  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think that's a great idea! As long as the plants are very small and Light it will work! I've seen where the Potted Plant tapirs from large to small and you cut a hole in the Shelf so the pot sticks halfway through the Shelf. That way they won't slide off. Or 3M makes a double-sided stick tape that holds 90 lb per square inch. Although I don't think it'll hold 90 lb, but it is very strong! I hope this helps! let me know how it turns out? Thank you Montessa!

    I am hoping someone can tell me of a super good adhesive
    For example I have a large magnet for my kitchen knives
    I don't want to put holes in my wall
    Maybe like liquid nails or something

    So, we're wanting to install some extra cabinets in our motorhome. I'm having a hard time finding info on my exact concerns. If I'm going to add cabinets in areas where the manufacturer didn't originally install cabinets, what's the chance I'm fight to hit things i don't want to hit, i.e. plumbing and wires?

    • @jonathanblakeney5760
      @jonathanblakeney5760 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The manufacturer is no help. We have a Damon, who was bought by Thor. But, Thor did not get the technical data for old Damons when they bought them out of bankruptcy.

    • @DURTYMAXLML
      @DURTYMAXLML  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that's a tough one you're definitely going to have to find out what's Behind the Walls! Hopefully your manufacturer can give you the blueprints! Goodluck Jonathan!

      They do make some very advanced stud finders. The WALABOT may work for you. It attaches to your phone. If it's good enough to see through walls of a house I'm sure it's more than plenty to see through the walls of an RV. Let me know how it goes!

      Wow they are hard to find online! I got them at home depot. I did find some on ebay. Although they are 1 1/4 instead of one inch, depending on the thickness of your RV wall these might work, here is the link below. Hope this helps! Just wondering where does the showerhead actually get the oxygen from? Do you have to pipe it in? Because our atmosphere is made up of 78% nitrogen and 20% oxygen.

    • @DURTYMAXLML
      @DURTYMAXLML  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a simple shower head that uses the surrounding oxygen we breathe every day. It's about $40 you can get it at Walmart or Amazon. You simply unscrew your old one, screw in the new one, & watch the magic happen! It's amazing to see how much more forceful the water flow feels. Give it a try I'm sure you will not be disappointed. Thank you Bill!

    Thank You for the video, BUT... anyone who is reading my comment
    NEVER EVER put anything other than ANY kind of toilet paper, plenty of water! NOTHING ELSE! UNLESS you have the money to pay to remove the clog!
    Side note: calgon bath salts and pine Sol is the best recommendation for the tanks
    It's a holding tank not a septic tank so all those pods are not necessary and can clog up the system as well.
