Ducklings hatch in garden, but are unable to escape

- Duckling rescues are amongst our most difficult rescues. Most of the time, there are only two possible outcomes; either we catch the mum and all the babies together, or the mum flies away and never comes back... which means that we have to take care of the orphans after that.
In this video, we had to rescue a family of ducks in a steeply layered garden. The ducklings were only around one day old and were unable to escape the garden. On top of which, the homeowner had a dog that could be a threat for the little family. The plan was to catch all of them (mum first) and release them somewhere nice...

The other day I had to direct a mother duck with her 14 tiny ducklings half a mile back to the nearest pond on my own. It was so cute! I went back to the pond a few days later and the ducklings were still there paddling about :3 I love these sort of rescue videos, keep it up!

Me and my dad found a bird with a hurt wing in a tree my dad took it in and kept it with us for 5 days until she got better and she flew away 😊
Kudos on that garden btw a real work of art!
I love this series because you can take a quick uninvited look at private gardens like that! for a foreigner its a hidden slice of english culture.

I remember one night me and my family were going shopping at the local Shopping centre. A family of ducks randomly came onto the busy roads out of nowhere i got my dad to get people to stop their cars so they can get across safely and they did. I will never forget that night.

Wow you were really well prepared for this rescue. If you hadn't had all the gear I don't think it would have gone as well. It was so sweet to watch the babies turbo themselves to catch up to the mother when they were released. Nice :)

Homeowner was smart to call in a rescue . . . . no water nearby + a dog would have meant a possible doom for that duck family.

I recall seeing a duck waddling across a cattle grid, followed by a dozen or so ducklings. By the time she got to the other side, she was all by herself. A quick google reveals that this is not an uncommon occurrence, and I was wondering if you have ever been called out to a similar situation, or whether anything has been done to mitigate future disasters, such as putting netting under the bars.

I think the lady was right to call: Duck family nowhere near water + pet dog = danger
i just love animals. I wonder how the pay is as a rescuer. It's sucha a meaningful job, but i must admit to myself, that the pay does matter.. But, that's just me. Who knows, maybe i wont care about the pay, little or a lot, once youve helped some animals to safety.
