  • A wild owl was stuck inside the grill of this woman's car, so she called a wildlife rescue to come help! After the owl was freed, his rescuer gave him some belly rubs, and then the owl flew off to find his wife 💕

    I'm glad some can saved. I recently saw a bard owl on the side of the road..she had been hit by a car. She was still alive though, and I had a little crate in my car I used for my kitty.. so managed to get her into it. It was amazing, because I'm pretty sure she knew that I was trying to help her because she made no effort to fight me/when I gave her little pets to comfort her, she even seemed to like it.. We drove an hour away to the emergency vet, and I dropped her off. I gave my contact information so they could keep me updated. Sadly, I got a call 3 days later to tell me that she didn't make it. I don't know why exactly, but it hit me wayyy harder than I thought it would.. so it makes me really happy seeing this.

    • @fynoda
      @fynoda 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The whole "they can tell we're helping them" thing is us anthropomorphizing wild animals. Wild animals don't want or understanding petting - they're hurt, vulnerable, and now some giant thing is touching them. It's stressful to them. They stay still because they're exhausted, and also scared. If an owl -or any bird- allows you to approach and pick it up without some avoidance, it has a serious head injury or is in a lot of pain/exhaustion/hungry.

      @@Danielle-jw9gy You should see the reaction of a captured healthy wild African Grey. It was crazy, fierce and screaming. When these wild birds of prey are in shock or injured, they seem different. I saw a injured wild hawk once, at a park, and he was like begging for help. He seemed like a pet. I don't know if he was shot with a pellet gun or a fledgling. He just wanted help.

    Ten years ago, I saw a falconry exhibition in Scotland. We got to the location early enough to get the best bench- middle column, second row back. The first bench in front of us, directly in front of the birds’ stand, was left empty. The first bird the falconer showed us was the eagle owl. After he finished showing her off, he placed her on that empty bench, so she was just a few feet away from me. I could barely looked away from her the rest of the show, I was so fascinated by her. We had a staring contest at one point-she won, because I didn’t know if she would get angry if I looked her in the eyes too long.

    Since dogs have been living with humans for a long time, they are said to be able to read our emotions. Many dog owners may have some idea of what they are feeling, such as going to the side of someone who is sad and comforting them with a lick, or wagging their tails vigorously when they are happy. Dogs have excellent senses and cognitive abilities, and can distinguish the slightest sounds of breathing, heartbeats, and tone of voice, and respond to human emotions

    Owls are such majestic beautiful birds holy crap. I've always wanted one as a pet, but would never take one out of where it belongs for my own pleasure. Cheers to these people for these beautiful videos. I hope the owl is doing his best with his mate.

    This is the second animal I've seen trapped in the grill of a vehicle. I wonder if there is a way auto manufacturers could change the design and prevent this.

      Yes, they will. Because owls that are stuck there is such common sight that it requires the collective effort of every single car manufacturer to prevent that from happening.

      @@id7505 ROFL you beat me to it. Yeah we absolutely need these companies to do a recall of their vehicles and do full inspections to make sure owls can't get stuck in them, then do a full rebuild of the vehicles.

    So beautiful. The car he was trapped in, how did he get in there? Where was the owner of the car? The Owl was amazing, he lay still to be rescued and was grateful.

      The owner of the car is the person talking. They said they were driving and they hit the owl.
