Lies... I've used my controller for hundredsof hours, and it still hasn't had any issues. Those rumors of the rubber falling off are bull crap. I've been very rough with my controller andits still pristine. Those pictures were clearly of a controller chewed on by an animal.

It's a shame people don't play Titanfall as much as they used to. Maybe my playing it on PC has something to do with the smaller amount of people playing, but I think it's one of the most fun shooters I've played in a while. It's fresh and new and I personally can't wait for the sequel.
I don't think its fair to lump all motion gaming as being the same. yes the kinect and the ps4 camera are essentially the same. the camera tracks the position of your body. But........the wii remote and nunchuck (as well as the playstation move and companion controller) are completely different. the nunchuck in your off hand acts like the left half of an ordinary controller. the wii remote in your dominant hand acts like a pointer, similar but different to a pc mouse.

I was given the Playstation Move and camera (for PS3) as a gift and never thought I would use it because I also don't have interest in motion gaming. Then I found where it works... lightgun games! Rail shooters! Love, love, love them now that I discovered them. I got the Sharpshooter and played a bunch of House of the Dead games and the like... perfect use for the hardware. The one place where I enjoy it.
Yeah it does work very well for On-Rail Shooters. It's when you have to navigate that it becomes challenging. For example in Killzone if you're already in my field of view then it's so accurate and easy to take you out, but if your not in sight and I have to turn to face you it's tough to get right on target.
Aerosol Lung I could see that. I haven't given doing a proper FPS using the SharpShooter. I'll have to give it a go to see what's what. It sounds like your experience is likely how I'll feel about it too. I'll likely stick with the rail shooters. heh ;-)

Motion Gaming to me is a gimmick that really needs to die. Some may argue that Motion gaming isn't, then good for you pal "Thumbs up for you, make that a double thumbs ups!" I've tried both the Kinect and PS Eye long ago, and god it literally was a gimmick, there was no redemption from those things. Kinect 2.0 is basically a Kinect with a better camera.... that's it. Microsoft (at least for me) pushed this too much for their own good. Making the kinect a required BUY. Yes I know it isn't required to use "Anymore" but spending an extra 80-100 bucks for nothing? Fuck that shit.

Motion gaming did kill it for me! I miss the days when I had a little game cube and when I came home from school me and friends would plop it out and play mario kart and Monkey Balls all day. Then the wii came out and I hated the games that didnt let me use a game cube controller. Even the PlayStation move controller wasnt fun.
I have an Xbox One, and I'm definitely getting a PS4. The Kinect™ did not really effect my choice on buying the Xbox One, sure its cool and all but I mainly bought it for the fact that its more of a living room device. Its made to be set in a open environment, where you can watch movies with the family, do fitness activities with your friend, and play games. Ps4 is more of a gaming only device, (even though you can still use Netflix etc.) and I'm a gamer. So, The kinect wasn't the reason why I bought Xbox One, but I thought it was a cool addition.
I was wowed by the OLD kinect! Kinect adventures was an awesome co-op experience. Then people made bad games for it and thats how it got its reputation.

PS4 is going to be my main system for all multiplats and Playstation exclusives. My future Xbox One will only be for exclusive games. So far these are the ones that interests me: Qunatum Break, Titanfall and Halo 5.

I agree with you Mike but to be honest, I don't think Microsoft's first party games will ever be as good as SONY's...... just look at 2014 upcoming exclusives : PS4 has inFamous Second Son, DriveClub, The Order 1886, Hohokum, Transistor, Rime, DayLight, Everybody is gone to the Rapture, Deep Down coming.......also Planet Side 2 and War Thunder for F2P while Xbox One only has Sunset Overdrive & Quantum Break in 2014 and to be honest, some of the PS4 exclusives has much better developers.... not convinced ? well, look at 2015 and beyond Xbox One has Halo 5 but PS4 has Uncharted 4, The Last Guardian, Shadow of the Beast and more
The Kinnect is useful in some situations but there's the problem of when your playing a game like AW zombies. I said "watch out" and it took me to a diffirent app that's the only problem I have with the Kinnect
I'm not a fan of motion gaming. At least not a huge fan; but, I will say, I love my kinect. With the automatic sign in, and the fact that you don't even have to touch anything to turn it on, it can't be beat. It makes me feel like Tony Stark every time I use my Xbox! XD
I don't like the idea of using Kinect for gaming so much as using it for console commands. But on the downside that means I'll probably get lazier :p I want to pick up an Xbox Juan for Titanfall, Battlefield 4 and maybe Ryse son of Texas. (Probably laughed harder than I should have when he said that)
I like the kinect and use it everyday, I think microsoft would of had to compromise their vision if they made the kinect optional, developers would not have had to support it. This way developers pretty much have to use it and come up with better experiences with kinect. With that said I also see the otherside of the coin and I think it's good microsoft is going to update and allow developers to choose if they use it or not. Maybe in a year or 2 they have an xbox with no kinect

I thought straight from the start that even this new Kinect would be just a gimmick. Having said that, it definitely influenced my purchase decision somewhat. I didn't want something like it, when it was forced. Funny thing is, went with PS4 and got the camera for that, and I would think that was due to it being optional. Now, so far, the whole camera experience has been a bit meh, it was cool to begin with, when you could use voice commands etc. but I do have to say that after fooling around with the playroom enough, it doesn't have much use anymore. If I want to play games or turn PS4 off for example, I just use the controller. I hope they will utilise it a bit more in the future, but I doubt it will ever be anything, but a fancy extra for PS4, just like Kinect is for Xbox One. Performance-wise PS4 all the way, I think MS dropped the ball with going for this all-in-one media center and using inferior parts. I would have no use for most of its functions, especially when it is inferior, when it comes to gaming.
I recently got a very high end PC. First time I have been a PC gamer since Baldurs Gate 2... and I think I'm in love. I will probably skip this console generation unless one of the consoles gets a ton of exclusives I want. I mean, I'm playing Sleeping Dogs maxed out on PC and it looks incredible. I'm finally playing Witcher 2 on PC and it makes the xbox version look awful. I'm like you with motion features, fuck that. If I did get a console a year or two from now it would probably be the PS4
When I first heard about the xbox one coming with kinect, it put me off getting it because I wouldn't even use it so i wanted to get a ps4. Now that you don't need the kinect anymore, I want to get an xbox one.
in my view a game is a relaxing fun experience not a 3 hour workout disguised as a hack and slash because at the end of the day... its a muscle workout for your arms ._.
The only implementation of motion gaming i like is nintendo wii. They just use those features better: i surely prefer to play Zelda with a sword that follows my hand than Wipeout with a defect camera.

I'm disappointed that the inclusion of kinect and the stupid TV features have led to the Xbox one being less graphically capable. I'm having a really hard time deciding which console to get I had the first two Xboxs and I'm more used to the controller layout and exclusives. However the ps4's upper hand in terms of hardware and overall being made for games above all else appeals to me more. As for kinect although I certainly don't believe it is worth the extra 100 The voice recognition at least could be implemented positively in games and to a certain degree has been in the past with mass effect 3 and Skyrim. Developers do seem to be willing to make use of it

Motion control technology isn't 100% yet. Until motion control is as responsive as button pressing, it will never be more then a gimmick.
It doesn't matter what updates Microsoft adds, the Xbox GPU is a year older than the Ps4s GPU. There's no software update that can change that.

It's not that DDR3 isn't powerful enough, it's just that the Xbox ones OS uses 3GB of RAM. If it even used only 2GB everything would be better.

The Kinnect is useful in some situations but there's the problem of when your playing a game like AW zombies. I said "watch out" and it took me to a diffirent app that's the only problem I have with the Kinnect
I'm not a fan of motion gaming. At least not a huge fan; but, I will say, I love my kinect. With the automatic sign in, and the fact that you don't even have to touch anything to turn it on, it can't be beat. It makes me feel like Tony Stark every time I use my Xbox! XD
I haven't bought neither console yet, but if you care for your fellow human being. Can someone please tell me which one us best for me? (No fan boys!)

Kinnect is the gimmick that refuses to leave at the end of the night.
I don't like the idea of using Kinect for gaming so much as using it for console commands. But on the downside that means I'll probably get lazier :p I want to pick up an Xbox Juan for Titanfall, Battlefield 4 and maybe Ryse son of Texas. (Probably laughed harder than I should have when he said that)

I like the kinect and use it everyday, I think microsoft would of had to compromise their vision if they made the kinect optional, developers would not have had to support it. This way developers pretty much have to use it and come up with better experiences with kinect. With that said I also see the otherside of the coin and I think it's good microsoft is going to update and allow developers to choose if they use it or not. Maybe in a year or 2 they have an xbox with no kinect

Wrong, there are 1080p games for Xbox one like forza and call of duty ghost. Even now destiny runs at 1080p now

I have yet to see a game use motion gaming on the XBox 360 or One well enough to justify the Kinect. I do like the Kinect to browse through Netflix or other similar apps without a controller.
Never been a fan of motion gaming so I don't think I should have to pay for it when I won't use it

100 bucks? Really? That's like a single evening shift at micky d's (here in Norway anyway). Might be more like 130 bucks with taxes, so two evenings flipping burgers. One weeks pay from the worst paying job a student can have and you got the XBoxOne. Two weeks and you got the ps4. After a month you got one hell of a games selection. I don't get it? Are all americans poor and jobless?

Screw motion gaming, I never used it once on xbox one. Kinect shouldn't be about gaming, I use it a lot for voice commands and auto sign-in
I thought straight from the start that even this new Kinect would be just a gimmick.
Having said that, it definitely influenced my purchase decision somewhat. I didn't want something like it, when it was forced. Funny thing is, went with PS4 and got the camera for that, and I would think that was due to it being optional.
Now, so far, the whole camera experience has been a bit meh, it was cool to begin with, when you could use voice commands etc. but I do have to say that after fooling around with the playroom enough, it doesn't have much use anymore.
If I want to play games or turn PS4 off for example, I just use the controller.
I hope they will utilise it a bit more in the future, but I doubt it will ever be anything, but a fancy extra for PS4, just like Kinect is for Xbox One.
Performance-wise PS4 all the way, I think MS dropped the ball with going for this all-in-one media center and using inferior parts. I would have no use for most of its functions, especially when it is inferior, when it comes to gaming.
I hate motion gaming. I don't believe Microsoft did enough in R&D to fully grasp what their consumers wanted.
I recently got a very high end PC. First time I have been a PC gamer since Baldurs Gate 2... and I think I'm in love. I will probably skip this console generation unless one of the consoles gets a ton of exclusives I want. I mean, I'm playing Sleeping Dogs maxed out on PC and it looks incredible. I'm finally playing Witcher 2 on PC and it makes the xbox version look awful.
I'm like you with motion features, fuck that. If I did get a console a year or two from now it would probably be the PS4
When I first heard about the xbox one coming with kinect, it put me off getting it because I wouldn't even use it so i wanted to get a ps4. Now that you don't need the kinect anymore, I want to get an xbox one.

in my view a game is a relaxing fun experience not a 3 hour workout disguised as a hack and slash because at the end of the day... its a muscle workout for your arms ._.
The only implementation of motion gaming i like is nintendo wii. They just use those features better: i surely prefer to play Zelda with a sword that follows my hand than Wipeout with a defect camera.

Kinect is not good for motion gaming but the console can still work that's the most important part

I'm disappointed that the inclusion of kinect and the stupid TV features have led to the Xbox one being less graphically capable. I'm having a really hard time deciding which console to get I had the first two Xboxs and I'm more used to the controller layout and exclusives. However the ps4's upper hand in terms of hardware and overall being made for games above all else appeals to me more.
As for kinect although I certainly don't believe it is worth the extra 100 The voice recognition at least could be implemented positively in games and to a certain degree has been in the past with mass effect 3 and Skyrim. Developers do seem to be willing to make use of it
