    No $300 hunting jacket? no Ozonics? no scent killer sprays? no mineral licks or corn piles? Do you guys have any idea what you're doing? Seems impossible that you've ever killed a deer with more than 2 points! (wink and grin). strong work fellas. cant wait to see what y'all produce next season

      I wear an expensive hunting jacket and love watching these guys too! When I was younger I wore what I could and had a great time! As I’ve grown older I don’t want to be cold or as he said “sky lighted”. Point is not looking down on anyone. We hunt the way we want.

    When I first saw the road in the background I wondered if you guys where hunting that same area as last year and then came the interview to confirm it. It is cool watching you guys go back into public land in the same area and harvesting good bucks. The biggest takeaways from THP series is getting to know an area and how the deer use it. Keep up with the hunting pressure and any other influencing factors that could alter the deers routine. Then it is ultimately up to you to adjust accordingly for that chance.

    I totally loved when you were not talking and we were able to hear the silence of the bush, like during a real hunt, waiting, observing, listening, and especiallly when in the middle of the silence we could hear those wonderful bird singing and then the exciting sound of deer walking on leaves.... What kind of camera do you use? We can't even hear the zoom when you zoom in zoom out, wow! Crazy good video, thanks a million, I relly enjoyed it, crystal clear, audio is exceptional, and great deer too! Thanks, you made my day!

    First - Awesome buck and as always, awesome video.
    Secondly - I don’t want to sound judgmental but if the Lead Product Marketing guy at “Legendary” doesn’t launch a bucket-hat this Christmas called “The Legendary Intern”, someone should seriously consider asking him/her to update their resume. Young Ted is gaining a reputation and a following and there’s seemingly, only one article of clothing in the entire video that can’t be purchased tmrrw during the “Buck Friday” sale. Hence, I’d like to go on record as placing the first order for the hat.

      I like the way you think, but I'm not sure everyone can pull off wearing a hat like that. It takes a certain personality and look to make it work that well. Plus they would have to sun fade it then drag it down the road a few miles to make it authentic looking.

    • @VariableMarketing
      @VariableMarketing 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hah! 100% agree.
      BUT, as I’m sure you know, it’s not a fashion show. It’s been a long time since I had swagger and a devious grin like young Ted but I’d rock the heck out of the hat in the stand regardless if it was Huntgard-new or sun-dried, mud-dipped, Legendary-vintage.
      Additionally, my apologies to the Product Marketing guy at Legendary. I can’t imagine what it would take to get the hat made in time for Christmas. And, our raving about it and Ted would probably make it pretty hard when it’s time to sit down and negotiate Ted’s royalties. 🤷🏻‍♂️💰💰🦌

    Awesome hunt. Got me excited about tomorrow. Love the big woods. I've always dreamed about hunting Iowa. Its just really good to see normal people getting it done on public land. No fancy jacked up trucks pulling 15k dollar rangers. No fancy show offs hunting some privet farm with crazy high dollar food plots in a 5k dollar banks blind. I'm 46 years old and can truly say I enjoy watching yawls videos more than primos, Monster buck and many more. All I hunt is public land and its good to see your hard work paying off. Guys keep up the awesome videos. The way y'all. Explain and break down each hunt is very helpful and appreciated. Congratulations on another beautiful. PLB. Ricky

    Draw length is a huge helper. I have a 32 inch draw.. It makes finding bows harder but I can get a pass through from almost any angle! I also shoot 125 grain heads.

    • @dougkraemer8327
      @dougkraemer8327 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      32" here too. Bows are few and far between. I shoot lite arrows and heads. 360gr total and no penetration issues.

    • @christopherlein2307
      @christopherlein2307 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a 32, learning it's hard to find arrows with enough spine. Shooting a axis 464grains at 318fps. Really wanting a heavier spine arrow. Any recommendations?

    • @thomasliptrott3834
      @thomasliptrott3834 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve never really thought about that. I just figure an “XX” lb draw weight would be the same force in pretty much any bow. But longer draw = more force/speed on the arrow at a given wt makes sense.

    • @bryanroberts
      @bryanroberts 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you see an advertisement for a bow it shows the ibo speed.. that is based on 70lb bow with 30 inch draw and a 350 grain arrow... The same setup with a 28 inch draw is alot slower and the opposite for 32 inch draw.

    • @bryanroberts
      @bryanroberts 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@christopherlein2307 I shoot beman ics hunter pro... it's a 300 spine at 9.6 gpi. My complete arrow is 496 grain.. I have not shot thru a chrono yet for speed. I shoot a Bear br33 at 70lbs and have had zero issue with penetration. I've only had one arrow that was not a complete pass through and it went through breaking both shoulders. That buck bulldozed 40yrds and piled up.

I watch this, MW, Heartland, BOD....and literally just laugh at the formulaic nonsense that's on all the major outdoor channels now. This is so much better a representation of actually pursuing trophy deer, than is some product pimping dude over a food plot. Appreciate your content guys, its next level.

    First day of firearm season here, the cams in my woods have been unusually quiet for the last 10 days and so you guys inspired me to give public a shot. I set up between two fingers of woods in an oxbow in a river, overlooking a couple hundred acres of open ground. Basically, any deer traveling east-west were going to have to either cross a huge open space or walk right in front of me to stay in or along the tree line. 15 minutes before opening, a heavy bodied 10 pointer walked 5 yards in front of me and he was grunting back and forth with another buck in the woods to my west. First time I've heard bucks grunting at each other, so that was cool. Seemed like it was going to be a good day/good spot.
    Half an hour later another member of the public decided that I had picked a good spot. Old guy thundered out of the woods toward me from the east, stomping, breaking sticks, and coughing up his lungs every third step. I heard at least 5 deer tear out of the woods to the west and cross the river. Old guy set up shop less than 20 yards away from me; didn't even say a word. To say that it took the wind out of my sails would be an understatement. Gotta find another spot for tomorrow.

    I shot my first archery buck on public land this past Friday. This video was the inspiration for choosing the spot that I did.
    50yds from the road on an overlooked piece of public in KS.
    142 2/8” 10 pt with at g2 kicker on the right side.
    25 yd double lung pass through, he ran 30 yds.

    Hunting used to be so fun, now it's not worth it. Thanks PA GAME COMMISSION! You boys are doing a hell of a good job.... keeping your pay raises concurrent.

    Have you guys thought about doing any cooking episode and showing your favorite venison dishes?

    I love this hunt reminds me of my biggest on public land todate was literally 50 yards off the road . Long story short I came in from other side of woods walked nearly a mile . And ended up literally just walking in circles looking for a spot to climb . In dark with phone light only. Buck came in perfect .
