SKADRON 16 GUARDIANS OF THE SKY

Inaugurated on the 17th October 2014, the Air Force 16th Air Squadron @skadronudara16 became one of the key air combat squadron assigned to guard the nation's westernmost region, especially the key region like the Natuna Islands in the Southern China Sea, which has seen many escalation over the years until today

The squadron's main arsenal is none other than the living legend & combat proven, multirole fighter Lockheed Martin F-16 C/D 52ID equipped with modern avionics & arrays of modern weaponries like mid range air to air missiles
.
Though having modern warplanes do not mean anything without having the best man behind the cockpit. Thus the 16th Air Squadron have been helmed by the Air Force's finest pilots over the years, having achieved countless missions over a decade since its foundings, earning the squadron's nickname as 'The Rydder' meaning Knight
.
The squadron's home base is located in Lanud Roesmin Nurjadin, Pekanbaru under the Air Force 6th Air Wing command. The Ryyder is lead by Mayor Pnb Anugerah Gigih 'Badger' Pratama M.Han., a charismatic natural born leader who is always on the air first & land last before his men, a band of fearless & bright flyboys who took oath to always guard the skies of nusantara to the best of their capabilities
