this just saved me $60 by being able to use a free asset with a black background instead of paying for a different transparent overlay, YOU'RE THE BEST!

My go to source when I need DaVinci insight! Huge thanks brother! You skip on the nonsense but not on the easy of explanation. You are knocking it out of the park. Just so you know, April 24, 2024…you made my day much easier. Obliged.
Hey Jimmy! I really appreciate the kind words, my man. My whole goal is to make everyone’s day just a little bit easier if they’re using Resolve. Glad this helped! ☮️❤️
Noob here - Thank you for the most straight forward and best method for keying! Well... as far as I understand it... for what it's worth coming from... you know.... a noob!
@@Daniel_Batal recently i have been working on davinci resolve studio on one screen and having you on the other screen. After a few times, my wife, she looked, she no longer asks me who is the curly hair guy nowadays.
😅 Whenever she comes in the room, you should shut off the second screen really quickly. She'll be convinced you're seeing a really ugly woman on the side.
Do you know if it's possible to use it to remove other types of backgrounds like black or white? I tried using it on a black background but it didnt do much🤔
Doesn’t really work on black, you’d want to use Luma Keyer for that, though I have to warn you, you’re going to have to apply a mask. If you try to remove black from your video, it’s going to pull all of the black out of the foreground as well.
Thank you so much. I needed to put a clip of a screen on a guy looking at a tv screen but his head is in the middle. I was trying to transform and track around his head...it was nightmare...and this is so much easier x.x
Hi Daniel! Love your tutorials - I've been using them to learn for about a month or so. Quick question - I'm trying to do this with a black screen, but when I select the black, it doesn't become transparent. Where did I go wrong?
Hey there! Black is absolutely the wrong color choice for chroma key because black exists is every part of your video image. Make sure you choose a color like a neon green or blue that the software can easily separate and remove
Thanks for the tutorial, it worked a treat! I have some poorly shot footage (badly lit), and the camera is moving - I heard somewhere you can do a "traveling matte" to get rid of things you dont want to see, especially as the camera moves - but I cannot find a tutorial for this. Any ideas?

Ahhh, this looks much easier than using the 3D keyer. Genius
Wish I saw this before I started the project 😂
What if the green screen is not all one color and has different shading in some parts? The 3d key is still good for that.
@@lonr373There's an easy trick for that too

Okie! Thanks. Now I learnt 1 more way to go with green! And hope this works well with other colours!
It does, assuming all of the same chroma key best practices are used. Great matte controls up in the inspector for dialing it in, too
