I'd love to be able to buy a new Ranchero in the USA. If Ford wants to keep it cheap, they need to streamline the options. Make it a single cab ev or hybrid with a small, naturally aspirated gas engine in the front and an electric motor or two in the back. By keeping it 2 doors you save all the weight and expense of back doors, back windows and there's no need to make us pay for a folding midgate. With a super fuel efficient hybrid Ford can skirt around G.W.'s stupid law passed in 2007 which forced American auto makers to make just about everything 4 door. Keep it simple, fuel efficient and cheap and Ford will sell a million of them. Make the ev version here in the USA and Ford can take advantage of the tax credits. For bonus points a solar bed cover could be an option. I'd buy one.

The issue with these videos is that this truck wont be sold in north America. You can make a truck like this when you don't have to follow our safety laws. Its a shame... a 20k nice truck would be possible without all the mandates.
