GSMDome.com reviews the Huawei P9 Lite handset, priced at $350 and it's basically a more modest version of the P9. It replaces the dual camera with a 13 MP back shooter and also comes with an 8 MP selfie camera, 2 or 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. We've got a 5.2 inch Full HD screen, a HiSilicon Kirin 650 CPU, Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1 and a solidly built metal and plastic case.

The "cons" are not that bad... That phone is AMAZING for the price range...
Something that everybody keep forgetting about that phone in their review, IT IS THE ONLY ONE IN THE CATEGORY OF MID-RANGE TO OFFER 3 GB OF RAM!! That automatically makes that phone way more responsive and faster than the Samsung A5 or any other comparable phone...
So the phone is great and has nothing really bad to complain about, considering the price... It looks and feels awsome, and it has a great fingerprint reader... No one should complaint about that phone... And it is a lot if a do say so myself, considering that I am used to high-end flagship phones.
I would definetly buy a P9 Lite in black...

Good review. But some ridiculous forced complaints like "pictures & videos lose quality when zooming in camera" which phone doesn't? ? There aren't many optical zooms on phones yet.
Also that webpage loaded quite fast lol. Like I said too much nitpicking but a good summary for those looking at buying it.

Hi, i have one small thing that irritates me. When some one rings me first the phone vibrates for a few seconds and then starts the ring sound. Is there anyway around this. I looked in the menus but couldn`t find anything.

Based upon my experience with P9 lite, I highly recommend P9 lite. For the digital devices, always pick the latest version which provide optimized system both in software and hardware wise, I bet it with gives you better performance than P7
The most importance is that the soc of P9 lite Kirin-650 which is amazing in aspects of performance and power saving, it supports my 2 days' normal use.

I heard it takes too much time to charge. for about at least 3 and half hour. Is it true? and how much battery backup does this phone give??
Lunatic Fringe Yes, but 3 hours is a kind of exaggerated, the real charging time to me is about 2.5 hours. it builtin with a 3000mah battery, which is enough for my 2 days' use. I am not a fan of any games, just play with some social media and photo shooting stuff. for those guys who are considered as heavy users, I think it assure support their the whole day use.
BTW, for the colors, black version looks so cool and the gold version feel pretty premium.

i don't have the phone right now, but my friend said that his battery will last a day and half. but the charging time is slow because of its 1amp only charger, you can use a 2amp 10volts for faster charging.

look..5x is an extremely durable phone for 200$ but p9 lite is a veryyyy good phone for 200$ (at least here in Greece) but p9 lite isn't shadderproof which means that the screen may break really easy but if u r willing to put 20$ for protection I'm with u bro...
Both are good...if you need a metal body, bigger display or dual-SIM (though, P9L has a dual SIM version too), then 5X. If not, P9 Lite is great.

I've been using it for three weeks now and I haven't experience any lack of screen sensitivity. It is great. It's fast - unless you have loads of apps in background it can become laggy a bit. Otherwise great and instant response.

It's an awesome phone but in 2017...so i recommended you should buy a phone with 3 or 4 gb of ram and 32 or 64 gb of internal storage with android 7... maybe huawei p10 lite or honor 6x ? Or other than that but it's you're choice tho... :)

depends on you needs, to me the fingerprint sensor is important, and the soc of P9 lite is amazing both in efficiency and power-saving, IMO, for a digital handset, always go for the latest, which provide optimized features both in software and hardware wise.

Set-up is really clean and simple, I've made a vow to.myself that I'll stick to quality chinese phones until flagship companies lower their prices, its obvious they overcharge if a chinese phone for £200 has better specs than an iphone or samsung...LG are probably the best in terms of well known brand but aren't as costly in price for good specs. I mean an iphone 7 probably costs like £120 to make and they charge about £700 for base model...that's just pure greed.
p9 lite or A5 (2016)?
I would give a slight advantage to A5, but it's noticeably more expensive...I don't know if the price difference is worth it. If you don't mind the price and Samsung's Touch Wiz, then go with A5. But, P9L is a great phone too for a solid price.

P9 lite is a lot safer as it amazingly survived a 2 min water test and a drop test of a 3 drops, the Asus was crushed on the drop test from the first drop and it was broken after the water test. Also Asus comes with a glass back so, it really depends what you're looking for.

jacky Hi! :) I have just ordered P9 lite, I am changing my note 4 to P9 lite because before note 4 I had note 3 and I am now so tired of these big phones. But this is the only one reason I change. Note 4 still is a very good phone, excellent battery life, beautiful camera and everything It's so perfect about that phone, the only problem is my phone is always in my hand and It's very heavy and big for me.
