I bought this product. One of the reasons was the so called shoe compartment. My shoes don't fit in there. These new duffel bags seem cool with the extra features and organization but at the end of the day nothing beats the original base camp duffel.
i think the reason you got that price is because that bag was discontinued. I'd add one thing here and that it is neither water resistant, nor weather resistant. The zippers totally let water in, any amount and the water is going in, and the way the bag is designed it practically channels water to the zippers.
Good review thanks for doing it. Been looking at these to complement my 2 rolling thunder pieces of luggage and a Voyager sling bag I use. I do think the Voyager line looks more stylish; but I think I might stick with the original base camp duffel as it does look like it can take more of a beating.
