The gorilla guy shaped up and became friendly and cultured unlike this original ad here?! Yeah I agree the old YOGO really did taste better back then they do now and this ad made me happy to see it and brought a smile on my face again as if I was 11 once again....Sigh...

This jingle's emblazoned on my memory but I never questioned the line about yoghurt until now. Present chocolate Yogo's mostly cocoa and cornflour, main ingredient of custard powder. I even tried making some. The original may have been different, but I doubt it had yoghurt either as it wasn't tart. Possibly some form of dairy though, because it may have been creamier.

Ok can someone clear this up for me please? It seems there were many versions of this original version and this omits creamy rice and perhaps “vanilla”? If my memory serves me correct there was also “creamy rice” replaced now by “nice” and “vanilla” replaced by “gorilla” . The tune in creamy rice is strong in my mind but vanilla questionable but it works when I sing it. I’ve taught this to my kids and they watch it and even they superimpose the non existent words on this version but I’m afraid I may be doing a disservice to the pure history of this ad

This ad seems to suggest that Yogo is (or was) yogurt based. Whereas the Yogo you get now is most definitely just chocolate custard.

This is different to the ad I remember, at the strawberry part where the gorilla says 'mm nice' I remember they sang 'and creamy rice'!

original ad was Chocolate Strawberry Vanilla & Creamy Rice, i sang that so many times as a kid its still in my head
