Sounds like our journey was similar. I loved Europe early on and chose to buy it as my first TTR purchase. Now my favorite is the UK/Pennsylvania map pack. The way you categorized the various map packs was really good. Thanks for putting out great content!
I started my TTR journey with TTR europe and loved it so much that I now own almost 7 maps
1. Europe
2. US
3. Nordic countries
4. India & Switzerland
5. Asia
Love each of these maps and have played 100+ games on europe and US....
It's a classic game..No doubt..
Currently contemplating whether or not to buy 15th anniversary Europe

Thanks for your review! Really enjoyed how you broke it down into categories. Asia map is good for a 6 player team count. I may need to consider the Old West map too since we often have 6 players on game night. That of course eliminates Ticket to Ride with the higher player count.
My husband and I play some version of Ticket to Ride every week, and keep a running score.. The most recent expansion we purchased was Japan/Italy. I thought we would love Japan, but just as you said, it is a very short play and we don't like the game ending that quickly. We both like Italy better! I really like them all, but maybe my least favorite is Nederlands, because the two player rules are too complicated and we keep goofing it up.
Thanks for this! My wife and I needed a nice summary of options to expand our TTR experience. We just have TTR Europe and 1912

We started our collection with TTR Europe and expanded it with, Africa, Japan, UK, and India. We also have Amsterdam and my first yourney (EU version)
We love them all, our favourite though would be UK. Because of the multiple angles you can take playing this map.
Mine and my wife's traditional favorite has become the United Kingdom map 🤠
I just recently got penn UK and it easily the best map collection. My wife and I loved Germany for the longest time and thought the meeples were so cool. Then we finally got Pennsylvania and I was ok it like meeples.... but so much better like it fixes problems I have with meeples then I come to find out it was made before Germany and I just don't know why they messed it up.
Can you use it with the Germany base game? I kinda wanna buy it but I only have Germany
My group's favorite map is Pennsylvania, closely followed by Italy, Japan, and Poland.

I got two new 🎟 to ride games that are ticket to ride 🇯🇵 and italy 🇮🇹 and ticket to ride Africa?
I think people like Pennsylvania so much because it reminds them of Monopoly or something. The b&o railroad and all that crap.

Hi, just started with UK & pennsylvania extension and I've got one question to ask.
Shall we use train stations in UK ext.? Rules don't say a word about it and its very difficult without them but also you have 'right of way' card which works same way. Logically I wouldn't use train stations, what are you doing?

Hello Melissa and Kevin. I just purchased the base game of Europe but was looking to get one of the expansions that would be best to play in duels. You have mentioned the India/Switzerland pack, is there any else that is best for 2 players? Thanks

How about japan version? I have TTR europe.
I have USA version but do i only use the cards from the different expansions or do i combine the 2 playing fields?
The expansions come with new game boards and destination tickets. You will need to use the player pieces (trains, scoring markers) and colored train cards from the base game. Some expansions have additional components as well.
The expansions will give you new maps and new mission cards. You'll use the trains and color cards from the USA version. :-)

I grew up in College Park (near the University of MD) and in New Windsor (it's about halfway between Frederick and Westminster). I spent a lot of time at Cranberry Mall in Westminster. -- Melissa

On Rainbow Resource website, it says more expected "07/16/21". It is out of print, but I'm hoping they are reprinting it. I live in Pennsylvania and would love to have it.

You need one of the base games that has trains and train cards. Either USA or Europe would work.
