This song takes me back to when Argentina lost against Saudi Arabia in the 2022 World Cup all the way till the end when they finally won it. To this day, I fantasize this song with the 2022 World Cup, listened to it everyday to see if that dream becoming a reality. And it did. 🏆🇦🇷
I 'almost' finished it at 3am also, but decided to sleep it off after the Beach credit scene. Glad I did though, I don't think I can stomach all of that backtracking, last pizza delivery, BT boss fights marathon, and that ending after 3am lol (those were 2+ additional hours I think, the end sections of this game really bamboozled me with its supposed 'ending' when the game still goes on for a couple hours after! Heck I thought it's the end after defeating Higgs). What a beautiful experience.
This song gives me this specific vibe. A kind of warm unconditional love for someone you’ll never get to meet, someone who due to your efforts get to live and experience life with only a small mark from you. Kind of like cave paintings from our ancestors, showing ‘we lived here once’. In the end we are all connected, after all.
Can only agree. Working as a paramedic and over the years I looked in so many faces and witnessed so many things. Some made it and some didn't. I just hope that I made a difference
This song takes me back to the 2022 World Cup when Argentina lost against Saudi Arabia. I would listen to it everyday just to dream and hope that Argentina is the last one that’s stranding and do see Messi’s dream come true. And it became a reality. 🏆🇦🇷 the last one stranding.
When Sam desperately tried to wake Lou up, i was blasted with tears, never have i cried like a little child since the past 3 years. Death Stranding might not be Kojima's Magnum Opus, but it is truly an art that speaks. It is a shame that art can not be enjoyed by all human being, but that is what it is.
An absolutely perfect song to an incredible emotional journey. Kojima should be proud of himself for creating a game that not only defies traditional game conventions, but tells a narrative with a powerful message about society, humanity, and connecting together when things become desperate. I cheered at every obstacle a passed, I sighed at every roadblock I encountered, and even got frustrated when the odds went against me. And yet, I loved every second of it. That’s how truly powerful Death Stranding is.

This song hits different when you finished the game. It brings you back for all the journey you've been through, from defeating BTs, delivering those packages or even just enjoying the world's view. It concludes them all in 1 song. You can take my heart, Death Stranding ❤️
I ended this game at 4 am , and was crying like a baby when I ended this game. It was so crazy and sad, I can't describe. The story with sam and Cliff Unger broke my heart
The whole game, Cliff looked like the bad guy, trying to steal the wrong BB for ulterior motives, but he was just a father who loved Sam so much and wanted him back, but when he seen Sam became a man, he knew that he was OK and could move on in peace. Very heartbreaking.
Ending song. Finished the game yesterday. One of my favorite games ever and i was not even a Kojima fan. Briliant game in every aspects. The gameplay is extremely deep with so many mechanics. Even after 30 hours i was getting new things. And of course the soundtrack is perfect.
Quite late, but did you ever get into the Metal Gears? The very first and second are quite old and not really necessary but the first four Solids are utterly masterful and equally deep, and their stories are still very relevant, especially the 2nd. A good amount more action oriented but they're kind of based on the premise of not killing because war is hell and doesn't need more bloodshed.
@@joejoetuber574 Do you like the game? I love the game myself as I adore the game design, aesthetics, characters, and world but even I know some other people might not enjoy it from its slow paced passive non violent nature so it’s definitely not for everyone.
@@Gadget-Walkmen I loved every second of it. All aspects of it were done brilliantly, and i loved the gameplay with the Dark Souls-like multiplayer. It was very meditative. Anyone who calls it "boring" should be calling Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley "boring" because there's no fast-paced shooting combat. Half the people do, and they're simply idiots. The other half are salty because they know Kojima is a legendary storyteller and they know that their Fifa and CoD that they -rebuy- buy every year couldn't give them half a percent of the amount of emotion this game does, whether that be from story or gameplay. It is an incredible game, as are the Metal Gears, there is simply nothing else to say. If it's not for you, no problem at all. I've said before, some people like me love the slow, meditative gameplay as it works as contrast and highlights the stressful action and emotional scenes, others just want some old-fashioned fun. But don't call it "bad" or "overrated" because you are just wrong.
I’ve been playing this game consistently since launch. I play everyday when possible. 1am and some days, 2am and 3am I put my AirPods in, play this song (along with the OST) and just deliver packages. The game is over but for me (Sam) and Louise this world will NEVER end. This game has taken my heart and now it’s my job to keep it together. Keep on keepin’ on.
Same here. I am just rebuilding roads for the fun of it. I am not sure if I want to start a 2nd playthrough, because I know it will never feel the same. And I just want to keep this feeling.

This might be the most positive comments section I’ve ever read. And well deserved too. I’ve been a Chvrches fan for years and saw them live last year so I don’t want to sound like I haven’t enjoyed their music. But can we get a whole album like this!?
Right on. I was introduced to Chvrches by BBC's Sound Of 2013 where they placed 5th. First song I heard was the original version of "Lies" - better than the subsequent album version, I think. Second was "The Mother We Share" - this song here reminds me of that one. In general I liked their earlier, "harder" songs more, though their newer stuff are good as well.
Logos Rising I liked Love is Dead. They took a bit more upbeat and “poppier” sound, but I liked the change. But I still like their more “mellow” music like this song. It’s more of an experience if that makes sense

@@AlessandroChiaro Video game developers are the people who are putting more time into CHVRCHES. Forza has used a lot of the band's songs. GTA V uses one song (and hopefully more in GTA VI). And then we have Mirror's Edge, and now Death Stranding. Now compare that to the radio. Even in their own country, the only song that gets played on the radio (and not all that often), is the song they did with Marshmello. It's an absolute disgrace.

I love this, honestly the drum is like my favorite aspect of it, usually it's not at the forefront in CHVRCHES' songs but the rhythm in this really adds to it. The lyrics are great as always too, really nice to see them improving their already really good sound.
Here in my country, public transportation was prohibited during the lockdown. During the first few months, I had to walk from my home to the essential places I had to go to, usually kilometers away. I delivered and picked up supplies with goods, do groceries, sent messages, et cetera. You best believe every time I had to go out and walk, I had this song on loop. I will never forget this year. I will never forget this song. P.S. Things are better here now, at least, and I finally got a scooter to move around.

I had this song played at my Dad's funeral. I introduced him to Chvrches and particularly this song before he died and he said it was instantly likeable. This song hits hard for me now. But what a song to remember him by.. 😭
I can not fucking tell you how long I've been looking for this song. I had such a vivid memory of it. "Let's draw a line in the sand" and "you can take my hand" was all I could remember it by. And with one of the two being wrong, I couldn't ever find it. It took me so long. And now that I'm finally here, at the end of time... I remember how it feels to finish this game. I had forgotten this feeling. Oh, how good it feels to be human again, and to once again carry with me all that this game holds... Death Stranding is a masterpiece...

@@markusklein7222 entire life is subjective to each person, I enjoyed what someone else hated and vice versa to some the earth is flat and they believe in that and live by that. Everything we experience is subjective.
I knew that when the song started that that was it. It made me sad. I think I never was so sad when a game ended, simply because I wanted it to go on and on and on. Kojima, you are awesome.
Same. I haven't really been interested in the game... since I'm not a big Kojima fan, but this song is such an interesting choice for the OST that it has me a bit intrigued.
Jesse H Mate, as a musician who is steadily growing a small indie following that the most pretentious of music fans can appreciate, lemme tell you right now that this song is fucking amazing. The instrumentation is unique, with the percussion in particular standing out. In terms of composition, this takes a basic key and manages to do a lot of interesting things with it that you won’t often hear in pop music. This is pretty far from pop, I truly have no idea where you came to that conclusion.
Jesse H Yes, I’m aware that it’s a drum loop. If you didn’t realize that immediately, you need some help. Just because it’s a loop, doesn’t mean it isn’t good. Boy, I’ve met some pretentious music fans in my day, but you take the damn cake. Kindly dust the cobwebs from your ears. I understand that it’s a novel concept to a 90 year old like yourself, but music changes. That’s part of the beauty of it. Music is heavily influenced by computers these days. Even more so than in the past, where half the guitars were electronic. There is no issue with that, nor does it mean that the music is easier to make. In the age of computer generated music, a composer must be completely aware of how every instrument and synth and drum sounds, how they work, whether they’d work well together, etc. Literally the only differences between modern composers and the old pen-and-paper composers is that we can actually listen to our pieces as we compose them, and we don’t need a big orchestra or band to play our compositions. The computer doesn’t write the songs for us. We write it ourselves, and the computer plays it. The computer is an instrument, same as any other. In case you didn’t know, since you seem to be woefully uninformed, all of this is objectively good. It means that the music will be of a higher quality, and that EVERYBODY can listen to and make music, not just old rich assholes. If you don’t like synths and drum loops, fine, that’s subjective taste in music. But don’t stand here acting like it isn’t real music and it takes no effort or any of that bullshit. It takes more skill, talent, and effort than you have ever had.
Jesse H No, I’m sorry, I’ve been getting this kind of shit about my own music that I spend hours upon hours on for so long that I simply can not just let it go. Do you know how it feels to spend hours every day for years isolating yourself just for the sake of making music that to be quite honest you think is bad not due to the genre but because you doubt your own ability? Only to go on the internet and see dumb shit like this? You don’t get to tell me what makes music good. I don’t give a crap whether you’re 29 years old, 290 years old, or 29,000,000 damn years old. Fun fact: The music like jazz and classical that you seem to worship were once looked upon in the same way as the “pop” music you seem to admonish. Give it 100 years, I can guarantee you that this music will be considered a classic. And there will be some new genre that my pretentious ass grandchildren are gonna say isn’t real music because, just like you, they won’t know any better. It’s been happening for centuries, and assuming we don’t all die in the next couple decades, it’ll happen for more centuries yet to come. You’re just one more out of thousands of examples.
Jesse H Besides, don’t you own an electric keyboard? A keyboard that you once used to play Zelda music? Zelda music that was originally composed using a computer? The hypocrisy is palpable.
Coming here after finishing the game yesterday. Wow... I’m glad I came back to the game after taking a break from it last year. I ended up enjoying it so much.
"Let's open up to the sky Askin' it for closure 'Least we can say that we tried But it's never really over What will become of us all at the end of the line? Will we live? Will we die?" Isn't this basically the entire plot of the game? Trying our hardest as a species to live in spite of an uncertain fate? Hell, isn't that the plot of real life?
Exactly! I get the sense that this is very important to Kojima, and that he's been trying to get that across in his games from the beginning. He really is one of the voices of our time.
@@engalipak yeah. I'm an Italian journalist and, long story short, I gave the game 9,4 out of 10 on the website I work for (SpazioGames.it). as a chvrches superfan, wasn’t 100% sure on the song when i first heard, but after listening a few times it is honestly now one of my favourite of theirs, this must be for the end of the game or the beginning, no way is a song like this going to be slotted somewhere in the middle, it’s something that i feel like would tearjerk if something devastating were to happen in the end
I can just picture a really epic cinematic at the end of the game, you save the world, music starts to play quietly in the background as a voice over narrates the ending/says something meaningful and then credits roll and this song starts 😭🙏
I'm so glad you guys blew up. I still remember the first time I heard recover during indie night on the radio years ago. Been hooked ever since. Keep Killin it guys.
It may sound like an exaggeration but Death Stranding truly changed my life. For the first time in my life I really deliberately took my time while playing a video game : taking fun pictures with BB, going the long way during missions, stopping at a mountain's peak to take in the view, and it made me realize I can do that in real life too. I don't need to rush through what I'm doing right now to get to the next thing faster. Then, when I reached the end of the game, it felt like I was starting to understand what the game, and Kojima were trying to tell us. This is only my interpretation but I think the whole point of the game is to realize how important our connection to others matters to the fabric of the world. The more hostile, far apart we are from each other, the more vulnerable we are to the extinction of our society. The more we stay connected and make a conscious effort to help each other without asking for anything back (like when you put down a ladder or a bridge to make somebody else's traversal a little easier because you remember how much you struggled at that specific spot), the more resistant our world becomes to decay. I was late on the DS train and I had mid expectations from the game before buying it because I had seen some reviews like Dunkey's video on it. I was completely wrong. I have never felt about a video game like I feel about Death Stranding. I have never felt as connected to other players as I felt while playing Death Stranding, and after finishing the game I actually took its mantra to heart and put the connection I had with others IRL at the top of my priority list. Thank you Kojima & team, and I can't wait for Death Stranding 2, I'm not putting any expectations on it other than I hope they put that same importance on helping each other.
Take your time, you're only here once, work is less important than they will make you think - work to live, not work to live, enjoy it, it's your only playthrough.
Much love to CHVRCHES, the song is phenomenal. Reminds me of y’all’s older stuff. And much respect to Mr. Kojima, I hope Death Stranding turns out to be a masterpiece of video game art.

This is my song to my wife 15th of june 2021 when we got married. In the evening I gave her one final gift, a music box custom made with our song of a 10 year relationship and then played this song in the background. Telling her she can take my heart and will hold it together as we fall apart. She cried in my arms and said I will love you till the end of time, always and forever. I love you Amber Davies
I hadn't played any games of Kojima's, but I'd heard of Death Stranding from the first trailer and how different and cryptic it was. I was interested to see what kind of story and atmosphere it would bring, but forgot about it until I first discovered this song. I knew I wanted to get the game just from this song, even if it was in some genre I didn't normally play, or on a console I had! I super enjoyed the game! I listen to the soundtrack on a regular basis, and relating it to the context it played in the game adds another layer to the music
There has honestly never been an original, non-orchestral, song as good as this, in a video game. I'm loving the Dolly Parton vibes, on the vocal. Amazing work
Such a pretty song for Death Stranding, I mean this surely becomes the most impactful piece of game production ever made, thank you Hideo Kojima. This part of the lyrics is powerfull ( What will become of us all at the end of love When we've stopped looking up?)
He... The captain saved my life. You know why they called me Die-Hardman? Because he wouldn’t let me die. He brought my sorry ass back home every time. And I loved him As much as I loved her. And when he stared me down, that ghost, I knew. He was here to kill me. To make it right. And why shouldn’t he? Why didn’t he? He couldn’t save his kid. His BB. And that’s what brought him back. I guess, when he saw I was trying to do my part for America, He remembered who he was... ...and he forgave me. God! But I don’t deserve it, goddammit! There is no atoning for what I’ve done! Damn! God! But maybe... ...maybe this is the next best thing. Maybe he brought me back from the beach for a reason... ...one last time. He wanted me to do this. To keep on being Die-Hardman.

Heck I thought it's the end after defeating Higgs). What a beautiful experience.
I finished it at 2am last night on 1st October 2024. It was a roller coaster of emotions and what an amazing song to end it all on ❤️
This song gives me this specific vibe. A kind of warm unconditional love for someone you’ll never get to meet, someone who due to your efforts get to live and experience life with only a small mark from you. Kind of like cave paintings from our ancestors, showing ‘we lived here once’. In the end we are all connected, after all.
Wow that is so clean. I had almost same vision...
Can only agree. Working as a paramedic and over the years I looked in so many faces and witnessed so many things. Some made it and some didn't. I just hope that I made a difference
You should watch PRIMAL animated series from genndy tartakovsky. You will love it.
I had alot of trouble not falling apart when Lou died. Takes a great artist to pull such raw emotions out of a observer.
Not embarrased to say yes I cried when this track was played at the end credits. Kudos to both Chvrches and Kojima for such an amazing experience.
The entire soundtrack of this game is so well put together to convey a specific atmosphere.
"They told me your name was Sam Porter, but you're Sam Bridges, my bridge to the future."
THE FEELS...
@Serges how did it not play for you? Both songs played for me. This was the last song for the credits.

The story with sam and Cliff Unger broke my heart
final chapter was devastating
The whole game, Cliff looked like the bad guy, trying to steal the wrong BB for ulterior motives, but he was just a father who loved Sam so much and wanted him back, but when he seen Sam became a man, he knew that he was OK and could move on in peace. Very heartbreaking.
Me too. I love this game so much.
Ending song. Finished the game yesterday. One of my favorite games ever and i was not even a Kojima fan. Briliant game in every aspects. The gameplay is extremely deep with so many mechanics. Even after 30 hours i was getting new things. And of course the soundtrack is perfect.
100% agree :)
same.
Well that was one hell of an ending
The soundtrack to Death Stranding is quite different then any other game I've played in my past 16 years of life :D
Knew this song would be used when it was. Didn’t disappoint. I sat there smirking knowing I’ll probably never play a game quite like that again

Loved the first 2 albums, wasn't fussed on love is dead but this, I LOVE!

Drowning out our sorrows

This is the kind of song that I can see playing while the universe ends
Coming here after finishing the game yesterday. Wow... I’m glad I came back to the game after taking a break from it last year. I ended up enjoying it so much.

Thank you Kojima & team, and I can't wait for Death Stranding 2, I'm not putting any expectations on it other than I hope they put that same importance on helping each other.
hi-five bro, we're on the same wavelength
Take your time, you're only here once, work is less important than they will make you think - work to live, not work to live, enjoy it, it's your only playthrough.
I love this, sounds like a bonus track from Every Open Eye. So gorgeous
I have finished this game for twice. But today I heard this so deeply and it is making me cry again, again and again. Soooo beautiful song.
Much love to CHVRCHES, the song is phenomenal. Reminds me of y’all’s older stuff.
And much respect to Mr. Kojima, I hope Death Stranding turns out to be a masterpiece of video game art.
This is one of my favorite songs in Death Stranding. I absolutely love this game, story, graphics, characters, acting, and music. I've never played a Hideo Kojima game before and was simply amazed at the depth of the story and overall quality of the game. I need to find more games by him and his amazing team!
I hope you went on to try the metal gear series!! It's Hideo's bread and butter. Amazing story and incredibly deep and epic haha
cheers bud
I’ve never played a Kojima game before death stranding but I loved every moment of it
This is my song to my wife 15th of june 2021 when we got married. In the evening I gave her one final gift, a music box custom made with our song of a 10 year relationship and then played this song in the background. Telling her she can take my heart and will hold it together as we fall apart. She cried in my arms and said I will love you till the end of time, always and forever. I love you Amber Davies
Love this!
😭❤
This actually has me concerned. Is she still alive? You mentioned ‘final gift’.
@@knowledgeseeker4614 yes
I mean i want to know
This is a Masterpiece in Game and músic..... Grande Kojima, recorrer esos paisajes con los zapatos de Sam y con esa historia fue maravilloso
The first game made me cry. For real now.
It’s no accident that the beat is like a heartbeat. Such a great song and honestly one of my top songs of all time. Such a treasure
Amazing work
This will play when you start thinking “what am I gonna do in the rest of my life?”
Servet Hosaf If you’re suicidal... life is never going to get better. Unless you put in the work! Stop playing video games, and GET OUT THERE!
@@KaneK1234 No thanks
Deckard eyo what ? Lmao
Strangely enough my life is falling to shit and im getting divorced, and this song is stuck in my head.
Such a pretty song for Death Stranding, I mean this surely becomes the most impactful piece of game production ever made, thank you Hideo Kojima. This part of the lyrics is powerfull ( What will become of us all at the end of love
When we've stopped looking up?)
Oh shut up you pretentious geebag. The game is alright. That's it.
He...
The captain saved my life.
You know why they called me Die-Hardman?
Because he wouldn’t let me die.
He brought my sorry ass back home every time.
And I loved him
As much as I loved her.
And when he stared me down, that ghost, I knew.
He was here to kill me. To make it right. And why shouldn’t he?
Why didn’t he?
He couldn’t save his kid. His BB.
And that’s what brought him back.
I guess, when he saw I was trying to do my part for America,
He remembered who he was...
...and he forgave me.
The actor deserves a fucking award just for this scene
Seeing his line just written out like that makes me realize the skill it takes to deliver it the way he did. Outstanding performance :}
This scene really got me lol
I cried when clifford unger died
Elias Hobeika The fact he did it in one take is another reason.
I Feel honored to be among the first to hear this lovely sound
yes
Me too friendo

Im really crying with these lyrics... Kojima and chvrches are telling us the meaning of the Game, the true meaning of the death stranding... And why we have to reconnect the mankind again... Kojima's games BSO usually are excellent, and this looks like others. Seriously, the second time I've heard this song I was absolutely in tears when I realised the true meaning...
I agree En Rocas
The need for connection is something that we all feel, but it's hard to talk about it for some reason. So Kojima is giving us a helping hand. He's a great man and this is a beautiful song.
Nice to know the lyrics got someone else crying
Lol sure
100% dude. This is why this game is so important. Just wish more people were open to it...
I feel like playing death stranding again. Its been a year. The thing i loved was when you are walking and music starts playing which just fits in with the view
Please don't. You've been brainwashed. Most bizarre game of all time.
@@holliswilliams8426 LMAO shut the hell up. This game is fantastic and a phenomenal game. NOBODY’S been “bRaINwAsHEd” AT ALL here more than you, you pathetic idiot. The only “brainwashed” person here is YOU for spewing this nonsense and acting like a pathetic idiot and spewing your nonsense s this game is NOT “bizarre” at all in a negative way, it’s a fantastic game with tons of heart and love to it that your too much of a fool to understand at all! Piss off you idiot.
Finished the game last night.. And, man.. I don't know, many different feelings were felt on the way, until the end. I wouldn't have it any other way.
"My body may be present but my soul's on the beach.... I'm already dead."
@HeadHunter The Death Stranding
@@Ragucci25 The babies are batteries that they use to avoid the invisible enemy things but the specific babies assigned to agents are that of their past selves. Their body or that of the baby is present but the soul of it is trapped in the other dimension where it came from this is hinted at by the scientist that was shown in one of the last trailers and how she had a child but it was in the other world and couldn't be seen in the current one.
I don't know, but with this lyrics and all the trailers,oh boy, somehow i think the story of this game, there will be man tears, hope so.
This is a great line
What an amazing experience this title was. . When this song hit during the credits it brought up some strong emotions for me knowing the journey is over and I can't experience it again for the first time. Thanks Kojima for this amazing title
Im here after end the game on pc. I will be here, maybe everyday, for the good music. Thanks!!
Never, ever played this game. But as a huge Chrvches fan, I literally play this song over and over. Amazing and totally underated! ♥️
you should play the game at some point, it's beautiful.
The whole tragedy of Amelie, man...that breaks your heart. Poor woman. I broke when Sam asked her: “Alone..?”. That got me. You did it again Koji!
Don't post spoilers please
An exceptional experience and worth the time Death Stranding is definitely a masterpiece for years to come.
This song is so great and it was nice to hear it in the end credits and now I've been listening to this whilst driving.
Kojima-sama truly is a man of culture...
"I'm sorry, Lou."

One last delivery...

Im on repeat mode. This song is uplifting.
You should definitely try Royksopp
Me when I discovered them through Mirror’s Edge after brushing them off as cheap pop I’d never be interested in
This song hit me right in the feels when I finished Death Stranding. Masterpiece!
I know Chvrches thanks to DEATH STRANDING. They are pretty good!
TOMORROW IS IN YOUR HANDS 👍🌈☔🐳🐟🦀✋
Finished the game today and what should I say? Yes I cried and yes Death Stranding is an absolute masterpiece, in every possible way! ❤️
Fantastic game love it myself!
@Marcel2020 Glad you love as much as I. Nice to share the love!
It is definetly
Chvrches have an unforgettable way of the “build”....the songs build up and build up....knee slapping goodness!
Maybe together we can make our mark in the Stars 😭 This song reminded me of my best friend that passed away ten years ago, but not in a bad way. I remember all the good times! It’s so uplifting 😊
130 hours in and I am just battling Higgs. Why? Because I don't want finish the game, I just want to keep on keeping on. The music resonates every time.
You have to step forward
To meet, to connect , to fear not touching , to scare not losing something
Remember hints:
Saving fragile is the final boss
save 2.5 hours for the ending scene if you are not yet spoilered.
Finish the game!!!! Amazing! Chapter 15 is basically open world where you can continue to be a porter and there’s no danger of missing anything. Beautiful story. I was sobbing by the end and continue to play.
