    Finally got to ride ArieForce One this week. Had 10 back to back rides (recommend a Tuesday afternoon in November no wait) some in back some in front. Liked the back the best. Favorite parts were the stall and the Arcade roll. Fun ride totally worth the coast of the wristband just to ride this coaster. Will likely stop in again sometime in the summer when I am in Atlanta for business again. This was definitely better than anything at 6F GA which I did most of on Sunday.

    Nashville native. This is the best coaster I've ridden in the southeast area. have it as my #2 all time behind Fury. if there was ever a time to call a coaster "efficient" I'd say this is it. Nothing over the top as far as speed goes but does incredibly with what it has to work with.

  • @alexlents4689
    @alexlents4689 ปีที่แล้ว +28

    I think it’s important to remember that this is the very first hybrid done by Joe instead of Alan. As such, it should be expected expected that the ride is slightly more inconsistent than typical RMC’s, like the first drop being pretty mild while the finale being a little too intense. I can imagine Joe felt quite a bit of pressure to try and live up to the sky-high standards that Alan has set. As such, the finale was probably Joe trying a little too hard to blow people away. Not criticizing the guy one bit, he’s insanely talented and it’s totally natural. He’s already gotten a lot of things, like the stall, the speed hill, the big outward bank, and the rolls, down perfect, and I can imagine the future rides he designs will be even better than the ones Alan did. I just feel like this should be considered when forming your overall opinion on this ride.

    After this summer season, I wouldn't be surprised if they added a trim before the quad down. This thing is only getting started and just watching the footage alone, it looks absolutely insane. Hopefully I can get down and ride it before any potential changes are made.

    • @KrimsonStorm
      @KrimsonStorm ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly they have like 10ft of space from the top of the hill to the first brake, just spacing out those brakes a bit more would help with the gradualness of the brake run.
      I just hope they don't put a trim on the big drop before the arcade roll, because of the flatness of the track. I doubt they would put it there but you never know

    • @mylesmcarthur642
      @mylesmcarthur642 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      They will have to do some sort of modification because the higher speed at which the trains enter the final break run in the afternoon was causing it to fault in only 80 degree weather, I think a weak trim on the first ascent of the quad down would be ideal, a higher friction wheel compound also seems likely.

    This is a fantastic review. Thanks for making it. I took my daughter down to ride this after doing some things in Atlanta and this review helped me decide to make the trip to ride. Great decision. The only poor decision was only riding it once. This thing is amazing. I agree that first drop isn't that amazing, but it's still pretty awesome, but it doesn't compare to the other elements. I told my daughter this reminded me of a scaled down Steel Vengence but with an insane upside down element that is unique.

That coasters final hills just seemed to wanna smash me to pieces and then fling me to outer space, followed by what I felt was a pretty harsh break run. I agree with your whole review, Taylor. I got a dozen rides on it on a very rainy Monday, and one of those rides was in the row behind you. This was my 650th coaster and I thought RMC is still killing it, but the ending was too repetitive and a little painful. I think AF One will draw more visitors to FS Atlanta, but it will help the chain even more by getting nationwide publicity and helping to sell more 3 park season passes. It will take awhile to get a return on that 18 million dollar investment, but if the chain sees increased profits, then I can see them doing a small expansion in Atlanta within a few years. They could use a relocated coaster or two, maybe even a new Chance Hyper GTX. That would make it a more complete park and more like the other Fun Spots. It was great meeting you and Sarah, it was nice having someone to talk coasters with in an otherwise empty park!

    I took a roller coaster vacation this past week, and since ArieForce One is only 30 minutes away, I figured I would build up the courage to give it a try, and I absolutely loved it. It was a perfect start because we then headed to Dollywood where I tried some new things I've never done before, and that included Lightning Rod, which I also didn't think I would ride. Finished the trip at Busch Gardens Tampa this past weekend, and after 14 hours, and conquering my biggest fear, vertical drops on Sheikra, I can honestly say I added some great rides to the collection. My biggest regret for that trip is not riding Gwazi, but that's also because the line was always busy, or I just came from a locker so I wasn't ready to throw my backpack back in. It looked like such a fun coaster, and I'm sure it's incredible, but just one more reason to go back, and by then I should have built up the courage to go beyond vertical.
    Why is it relevant though? RMC coasters used to scare the crap out of me. I rode Twisted Cyclone, and I was so excited for it when it first opened, but it left me with a crazy head rush because my first ride was in the back row. At that point in time I wasn't familiar with how much it would really rip you over the top, and even though it's not that extreme, being a novice roller coaster enthusiast at the time, let it scare me out of riding any other RMCs. I even had an easy day at Cedar Point in 2019, and I still didn't ride Steel Vengeance, another regret. Twisted Cyclone is quality, and I can't wait to give it another chance 5 years later, but ArieForce One was my first real chance, and it opened up so much in the courage department. Not only is this an incredible ride, but the fact that it's at a park that not a lot of people go to, makes it even crazier. It helped me build up the courage to ride Lightning Rod, and that is another top-tier RMC in my opinion. I think if you combine the first 2/3 of ArieForce One, with the finale of Lightning Rod, you might have one of the best coasters in the country even though they are already amongst them. Height was never the biggest deal for me, but if they wanted to add some more, I'm sure I'd build up the courage to give that a try too. But hey, at least I added a dive coaster to the list, so there's some baby steps. 😅
    If you haven't ridden this ride, I highly recommend that you do, because you won't regret it. Easily my favorite roller coaster that I've ridden with Lightning Rod, Goliath at Six Flags Over Georgia, and Cheetah Hunt right behind it. I'm sure I'll add Steel Vengeance, and Gwazi to that list someday. Sorry for the paragraph, but this ride makes me want to write a novel about how good it is. 😄🎢

    Just rode a couple of days ago...along with nearby Twisted Cyclone. LOVED IT!...and better yet...no line!... I love the aggressive ending and I hope it isn't slowed down... My only complaint is that the pre-hill part is boring and not twisty like other RMC's...and the first drop is unremarkable. Other than that...a perfect, smooth and fun ride!

    Second double up hill looks awesome like it drops off a cliff. Reminds me of TT hills in profile

    Rode it today. 90 degrees and sunny. It wasnt intense in the way of like I305 with sustained positive G's, but it was the most intense coaster ive been on thinking about how aggessive a coaster is. Rode it 11 times and bruises on my legs to show for it 😅

    I agree with your take on the end. I think the “chili dip” should instead be a larger hill up and over the building, and then into a more extended triple down

    i think the first two hills on the chili dip/quad down should have been a trick track double up then into a double down so 4 airtime moments instead of 5 so you could also increase the length of the brake run

    The final inversion reminds me of Maverick's heartline roll. The shaping looks very similar as well as the banking you have going into and out of it.

    I didn’t think anything could top Iron Gwazi, I think Arie Force One may have done that. When the amazing Raven Truss Dive is not the highlight, The Stall goes on forever, then the outer bank turn unreal. The airtime through this whole ride is never ending. The zero G roll!!! This coaster is just about perfect

    Don't really like the constant ejector bunny hills on Twisted Timbers (my thighs hate them, anyway), so that last bit sounds like torture. No pain, no gain, I guess!

    Is there a typo in the length stat? Just over 1,000 ft seems incredibly short, and it’s also not equal to 490m which is about 1,600 ft.

    This is my 4th RMC credit . I’m debating on it being my second or third favorite currently I’m 1. Iron Gwazi 2. Lightning Rod 3. Aireforce 4. Goliath … That quad down and break run is what makes me not want to put it over Lightning rod but everything is else is so good that I don’t know

    Just ride today for the first time. I have a hard time understand why Fun Spot isnt promoting this coaster all the time - its one of the better coasters I've personally been on in the Southeast. So much fun. Rode it 5 times. No wait ever at FS Atlanta.

    The finale would be cooler if 2 of the hills banked left then right like the finale of Twisted Timbers, but maybe there wasn't space for something like that. Appreciate the review, was solid.

    I’m really excited to get down there this summer and try it! I personally have gotten thigh bruises from every rmc I’ve ever been on so maybe that’s just me and I’ll have to experience said pain for myself 😅

    I got 17 rides this past week on a really hot day I have not felt right since, and I think it’s that quad down that did it to me. Overall incredible ride, and top 3 RMC in the country for me, but not as re-ridable as I would have liked.

    The logo for the roller coaster is very similar to the US Air Force logo so that’s pretty fitting.

    That truss dive looks more like the dive loop on a RMC Raptor than say, the dive loop on Goliath at Great America as it starts twisting really late.

    My problem with the quad-down is that the airtime is too short. It feels like less than half a second of airtime on each hill. It is incredibly powerful airtime (maybe too powerful), but each pop is too short before you get slammed back down into your seat. This is the only coaster I've ridden that I think actually needs trim brakes.
