    Glad you enjoyed the North Chanel we are based at Sarnia Yatch club across from Port huron Michigan at lower lake huron now locals are starting to travel to the North Chanel for 2 months when warmer then when you stayed they have favorite spots go back to every year been up a few times with family such many great places to explore only been up for two weeks at a time but grateful my sister and her husband would take me along on their power boat now on third boat since I travelled with them but we are all older now no longer taking longer trips but that's okay! Thanks to a outstanding brother in law who let me travel with them before I met my husband who unfortunately lost him Feb 2020 after 21 years so hangong out with them again botherinlaw made sure they had a bed for me which sweet ! Thank full fa,ily at this stage in my life you brought back some old memories from the eighties and early nineties Cheers safe travels Please come back again !

    You gotta love the Great Lakes. Two great counties coming together over 5 great lakes, a few more lakes and waterways that are almost great, with more islands than you can keep up with, each with its own personality. You're seeing sailing, yachting with boats smaller than yours all the way up to huge, fishing (both sport and commercial), a 50 year old shipping fleet supporting viable heavy industry on either side of the lakes. Its declined from its heyday, but I think the lakes have stabilized as far as the industry, fisheries, tourism, water quality and levels etc. They went through a period of boom, a period of bust and now its a stable, viable and hopefully sustainable area in multiple positive ways.

    I am so glad you shared your journey on YT. I had no clue about a lot of the places you went. I just told my husband how I would love to visit The Georgian Bay. Congrats on such an accomplishment. You have done more for the loop than you'll ever know. And Ollie has officially eliminated all the bad rocks in Canada! Good job all four of you (Pivot included) Cheers indeed.

    Happy you folks enjoyed your time in Canada, next time try the Rideau canal from Kingston to Ottawa then head east to Montreal. And back down the Richelieu river to lake Champlain. That would be fun to follow along your journey.
    Maybe someday i will try it.

    Ollie is a dog of many skills. It amazes me watching the size of rocks she is able to retrieve. Now we find out that she is also a ventriloquist. She can talk without moving her lips. Awesome. It's June 29th 2023 as I write this and you taped it Aug 24th. Time travel. Now the question is, am I looking at the past or into the future. Ha Ha. What are you doing now? No need to answer. I just hope you are enjoying life. Semper Fi.

    Just a comment; we, growing up had a German Sheppard named Rex. He loved diving for rocks as well, however, over time we noticed his teeth were being ground down. It caused lots of problems as he aged. Just an observation.

    I was just thinking about your travels and wondering what’s next. This reminds me of the book that Peter Jenkins wrote about his travels on the ICW , it’s called “Journey along the Edge of America “ or something very similar to that. It might be something you would enjoy judging from the book, he met lots of nice people and had some great Times & adventures and this was his plan when he bought his Boat. He did take some lessons with a Captain but I don’t think it was very many. I can say without a doubt that anyone near Atlanta would probably trade places with you, it’s getting really hot even in the North Georgia Mountains!!

    Mackinaw island is a MUST stop if your going through Lake Michigan, also Charlevoix is a must stop, has a whole inland lake you can explore and make it all the way to boyne city all inland both towns are awesome with tons to do, traverse city is an awesome stop too, grand haven, Holland, and south haven are all cool as well. Tons and tons of awesome beach towns on Lake Michigan coast. But DO NOT miss mackinaw

    • @CrabDabs
      @CrabDabs ปีที่แล้ว

      Pentwater, Manistee, Frankfort and Whitehall are all awesome too all on Michigan’s west coast tons of places to eat and stay all really cool tourist towns. Silver lake is also a fun stop if you like off-road vehicles n such but that’s a day thing no inlet there, have fun stay safe!

    having navigated through Canada's Trent Severn Waterway, is that max 23 feet of beam truly inflexible? I found a possible boat for us, but it has a beam of 24.602 feet

    • @mardak
      @mardak ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The narrowest lock on the Trent Severn waterway is historic lock 45, which is 23 ft wide. This is the final lock before Georgian Bay. I suppose you could pay to have your boat transported the very short distance from one of the many boat launches near lock 45 to one on Georgian Bay.
