I will definitely use the synch settings for applying the same crop to multiple images - this will be really useful for cropping numerous action pics from soccer matches at high frames per second.
Yes, Andy, that is a great way to go. Also, remember to use the "previous" button for applying setting from the very last image you worked on. I use that all the time as well.

I actually don't edit them, I just tweak them, and save as a new preset and then trash the first version. Many times I don't do even that. Just make the changes and get on to the next one. If I feel the changes are being made all the time, then I'll save a new preset. I kind of think of them as a starting point, or just to keep a consistent look.
