    My dad used to tell me a story about having one of these fans. He found it in a dump when he was a boy. He dissassembled it, cleaned it up and put it back together. When he moved out of the house that he was in, my grandfather wouldn't let him take it with. He said he left it hidden under the front porch and lamented losing it ever since. My dad passed away in 92 but I still remember that story.

  • @Nabo00o
    @Nabo00o 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    That's very impressive :)
    Would be cool if you could have a fan that selfregulated to the temperature, so that when it got to hot the fan would begin to use the heat as its source of fuel ;)...

    If you can put a Dynamo to generate electricity, and use a satellite dish with mirrors to heat the engine. And so have a free energy source.

    Stirling engines rely on a difference in temperatures. They would still need an additional source of heat to operate to create that temperature difference.

    Heat pumps can make that source for practically nothing.
    I know I heard of recent work in Japan were the pumps could reach an COP of 10 -12.

  • @myfordboy
    @myfordboy  15 ปีที่แล้ว

    The idea is it uses heat as fuel and blows cold air to cool you down.

    Displacer clearance 2mm will that be ok

    • @myfordboy
      @myfordboy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have much less than this. The cylinder and displacer were made from the same stainless tube. Bore out the cylinder, turn the outside of the displacer. Smaller gap the better.
