I'm kinda happy inside because I got first, but they clearly didn't nerf this shit enough. Clearly they didn't. That Reno had a triple Lightfang on like turn 8. You literally cannot roll higher than that, on a menagerie build. You can't. That is, that is as good as it gets. It only get a little higher if you actually use Cobalt yourself and incoporate other divine shields with a Holy-Poisonous-Mackerel. I highrolled? I mean I did okay, I mean most of the stats on my guys was my hero power so, I mean what does a lowroll look like?"

I just got first with reno menagerie, getting a tripple on 3, discovering herald of flame and instantly goldening him, he carried me and got some nice whole board kills at the start lol
The matches don't last nearly long enough anymore, that's why they're so high-roll prone

I can't believe how Kripp talking about "start with 1 more gold for Millhouse" as something trivial. It's not just 1 gold difference, it's 8 gold difference overall.
So they pretty much buffed Millhouse by giving him about 1.5x worth of bartendotron's hero power, in addition to what he had previously. Why is Kripp still talking about THAT as a "small fix"?
I can't imagine someone saying "oh well they buffed demon Hunter by starting him with 2 mana, such a small change, yeah totally"
The irony is rich in that Kripp is the most known complainer about 1st vs 2nd in hs, since 1st has 1 extra gold for 10 turns vs the 1 extra gold of 2nd. And here with millhouse it's become "a meager single extra gold" all of a sudden
Why does Kripp keep acting like increasing Millhouse's starting gold by one was some small change. That is 8 more gold Millhouse has to use spread across the most important turns of the game. Not to mention the much easier breakpoints for leveling Tavern tiers.
Because he's still not viable in the late game wheen refreshing becomes essential for build optimization. He's a very powerful early/mid game hero but not a reliable 1st place contender.
@@jodkmp That doesn't really matter as it basically means you always get top 4 with Millhouse, and it certainly isn't impossible to win as him. He's is an absolute must pick hero if you want to climb, even when compared to Rafaam, Yogg and other powerhouses

For the record (from someone who only watches Battlegrounds and has never played it), I feel like the "change" from Cobalt to Deflect-O was not to nerf mech builds, but to stop non-mech builds from using Cobalts anyway during the midgame. Is that about right?
Yeah, but it was also to slow down cobalt. Used to be you could buy one and any other mech and be relatively sure you'd win the next two-ish games off the back of that, now not so much.

Mech might be more consistent than it was before the Cobalt nerf considering less people are attempting the build. Heroes like Cleef that can buff the stats of mechs might make Cleef hidden OP since you spend early game gold buying units at 3 instead of rushing to 5.

I’m confused. Cobalt was supposedly nerfed by being replacing with Deflect-o-bot. but isnt deflecto better than cobalt? it’s cheaper and the stats don’t really matter since you’re gonna buff it anyway.

THEdrunkBABOON JEFF but it also starts with divine shield and gets attack back from refresh, so max loss is 2 attack, but with micro bots basically the same
@@boxlad7583 But you attack w/ it before spawning those microbots, so you're still missing out on 3 attack. It getting 3 attack is also still dependent on you actually spawning 3 microbots, which, since board space is a thing, often won't happen.
You also often got divine shield on Cobalt either the turn you played it or the turn after, and even if it doesn't have divine shield, a 6/3 is comparable to a 3/2 divine shield.
Cobalt's problem was that it was good in every build.Also,deflecto starts very slow and does not one shot almost everything that cobalt was once bought.Also,a very important small detail is that with a magnetization of one replicating menace,Cobalts health was brought up to four and with one buff from a screwjank the health was brought up to 5 which means that it could avoid getting sniped from a jaggler and a bomb respectively,something deflecto cannot do.If you manage to reach late game with a mech build,its pretty much the same,but trust me,it aint that easy anymore.
Elias Yazigi Yeah but not only is the attack it gets temporary, it’s also dependent on whether or not your micro machines spawn. Also the very fact that you need a menace, i.e. an entire other card to even match cobalt stats is proof enough of a nerf. And since all you needed was to play literally any mech to give cobalt permanent divine shield, deflecto starting with it is negligible. So, overall a nerf.
So it's been forever since I've played Hearthstone, so this battleground bit is super new. But I'm curious is there a reason why at 2:50 he grabbed the Tidehunter? Only to sell it for the sum of it's parts? Spent 3 coins, but only get 2 coins back for doing so. Is there some other mechanic he was exploiting?
hero power is +1/+1 for each minion bought. it's an efficient purchase since he was only after the buff, not the minion itself

Maybe he moves them around every few days, the intro is recorded after the game is played.
I actually think the real reason is that the camera is just in a different angle. So it highlights different displates in the intro versus the gameplay.

Battlegrounds is very questionable as in the choices of minions you get I wouldn’t say it is “rigged” however very unbalanced also if you go up against soul juggler or red whelp GG

Julián Piñeiro it is now strictly worse in the early game since it is missing like 2 gold worth of stats for its tavern tier- the plus 2/2 buff minion for mechs is on that tier and it costs you 2 gold for that effect. Edwin and deryl can still make that basically not matter but it is worse overall as a card.

I don't like Deflect-o-Bot's art being basically Genji from Overwatch.
Like, it doesn't really fit the flavour of divine shield IMO.
Sure, he can deflect things, but it's not a power he gains when allied robots die, and it doesn't make his attack more powerful it reflects the oppnent's attack back at them.
Deflecting an attack with a sword doesn't map on to divine shield flavourwise to me.

ehm since it's not standard that the mini cobalt makes it to the top 3 since the nerf, but it still has potential when you van Cleef it a gazillion times, find a shitton of buffs for mechs on top of that... Lose 1 of those 2 factors and you're facing endgame with too little life to suffer even a single loss, if you're lucky...
demons, jugglers, murlocs and dragons are now far more frequently in that top 4 instead of the old cobalt...
so, factoring all that in, saying that is just not true...

Anyone else really miss arena content? I don’t mind BG’s, but it being the only thing he plays of HS. It’s just getting a bit samey. I enjoy Kripp as a content creator, but BGs is kinda boring at this point.
